Circuit Max and Circuit Training in general

I'm a relative newbie at Cathe workouts and I'm currently deciding between the 6- and the 8-pack on DVD.

Here's my profile: I usually do my strength all at once -- full-body strength 2x a week, usually Firm (because that's just about all I've had) -- but occasionally I'll do 1 full-body plus one day upper body and one day lower. I'm very strict about not working the same body part 2 days in a row. Also I just got BodyMax and KV's Great Weighted Workout and both are a welcome change of pace. BodyMax is my only exposure (so far) to Cathe's strength training; my only other Cathe workouts are the ones on the Cardio Hits DVD (which I adore).

Anyway, my point is that the strength training on these DVDs promises to be a huge change for me. This one body part/day thing is a method that I trust will be an effective alternative to what I'm doing now. I've gathered from another thread that it will be relatively slow, heavy weight work (compared to BodyMax, e.g.). What I'm less certain of is the function of circuit training. It looks like there's a total of 12 minutes of weight work in StepMax. How does that work? Do we cover upper and lower body in 12 minutes? Is it that approach at all effective in building strength or endurance? Would upper and lower body both be covered? Is that a small enough dose of strength work that I can work the same muscles 2 days in a row with it (i.e., do it the day before or after a real strength workout)?

Wish I Could Help, but...

I ordered them all on DVD. Now I want the VHS because I don't want to wait on the DVDs to come out. But I have to restrain myself and just wait until the DVDs come out. Aren't decisions difficult?

. I just finished a post to you over there LOL!

I know you still are looking for circuit info but one advantage to the 6 pack and having the single body parts split up on DVD..all on one CD...you can program what you like...not necessarily sticking to the one part a day. Although...that is going to be an awesome rotation...you can easily break into it slowly by doing all upper body and then lower or even the split like PS just by programming it into the DVD player.
I plan on doing a ton of variations with this series...one of the reasons I really wanted the DVD

. As far as working the same muscle the next day...even with the circuit style workouts..I still wait and give myself atleast 24/48 hours to recover before working the same muscle again. That's just me...everywhere I read...recovery days seem to be just as critical to your routine as how many days you lift.

Probably didn't answer your questions at all, did I?!
