We haven't gotten him yet - going to pick him up on Saturday...
I'm excited, though... I've been hearing fabulous things about the breeder and he just looks so sweet...
We're naming him Jimmy - his registered name will be Black Velvet Changes in Latitudes (or just Latitudes if the other is too long). We chose that song because the breeder is from Germany originally, DH is from India and I'm from Pennsylvania yet we're all here in California now. And the song is really about how it's wonderful to remember the past and all that, but it's equally important to look towards the future and enjoy what today brings you. Things may not be the same, but that doesn't mean they still won't be wonderful. I thought that appropriate.
We were originally going to name him Pepper - but not everyone in the family agreed - they all agree to Jimmy. I'm a bit sad, because I love the name Pepper.
Keep me in the loop with your puppies. Probably not this time, but some day I will be ready for female blue merle. I'd love one bred by you.

Oh he is so precious Christine!! It is wonderful that after the tragic loss of Tucker you guys open your hearts and home to your new family member.
I love the registered name you chose, it really fits. Do you know where in Germany the breeder is from and what brought them over - I am just curious.
I am sure Mr. Jimmy will turn your life upside down for a while, like all puppies do. I distinctly remember all the chewed up shoes, books, socks, underwear, etc, etc. }( But boy is it worth it!!
We just have a 5th dog at our house, Ice is Pepper's "new boyfriend"
She came into heat and I decided I wanted to get my 2 litter back to the breeder commitment over with, so we had to get Iceman to my house quickly. He'll stay until Sunday.
Here is a picture of Iceman, I think Pepper is lucky, he is very handsome and a very sweat dog. Another velcro dog Both him and Pepper are laying under my desk right now.

So I guess her litter will be due sometime in June. They probably won't stay at my house though, depending on how many pups she has, and if we are in the middle of selling our house or even moving, her and the pups probably will stay at the breeder for up to 8 weeks.
I am already sad about that, I don't want to be without my little girl for 2 months, oh well, we'll see.

Oh Ice is gorgeous! I love his "pants". How's Pepper feeling about him? How are the other boys in the house feeling?! I hope you don't lose your girl for 2 months! Are you going to keep one of the litter?
Oh yeah, Jimmy will turn everything upside down. Tucker chewed up a friend's $600 ski boot (I STILL hear about that every time we see them), DH's Raybans, the shop vac cord (not plugged in, thank heavens!), DH's bike shoes, and he broke free of his crate in the car during a search training and ate quite a bit of the rug and panels in the back of my Yukon. All sorts of fun things... If anyone needs a good stock tip - buy into any company that makes chew toys for dogs - I'll be going through a lot of them!!
