Hello ladies!! It's been crazy this week to say the least. I have vacation (no plans, but time off) the last week of this month and I sooooooooo need it!!

Hope you all are doing well!!

Today was heavy upper body. I supersetted pullups with my bench press
I did 3/2,3/2,2/3,3/2,2/3 (first number unassisted second assisted with the lightest band). I got one more rep on my own again this time. That is my goal to improve my unassisted by one rep each time. Once I get to 5x5 with BW only I will add weight. I am sure that'll be a while ;)

Let's see, I need to add to yesterdays pullup totals. I did more 3,2,&1 yesterday evening. Just felt like doing some more :+

Today was heavy legs. I squatted 110 pounds 4 sets of 5 reps. I really have a love/hate relationship with heavy lower body. I hate doing it, but love conquering the wt!!

BTW ladies, I am getting my workout room!! I am so excited. Briee, remember I told you DH said we'd talk about it this weekend. He said we will get rid of the couch and I can get my power rack. I will also be getting a new tv. He was evening talking about puzzle mats LOL!! He apparently has been researching this :D

Catherine-how exciting about your workout room! I workout in the lower level (we have a split level) and I took over part of that room. I would like to get rid of the couch and chair down there so I would even have more room. But, I still wish I had my own room where I could close the door and have it private. Oh well. Maybe, someday. You will have to post some pictures of your room when it is done-ok?

Good Afternoon Chinsters!

Today I started a yoga/cardio rotation. I did Mark Blanchard's Culmination today. Tough practice - very heavy on standing work. Did headstand for a second or two, tried to do handstand in the middle of the room (forget about it!). There was a pose I hadn't done before - dolphin - I'll have to work on that one. Managed to do one chinup this morning. I hope I don't lose too much upper body strength during the rotation but I guess only time will tell. Although there was a lot of chaturangas so I know my chest is getting quite a workout.

Catherine - I'm so excited for you about your new workout room. As Joanne said, please post pictures when it's finished. It's great your DH is being so nice about it.

I will be sure to post pics, but I am sure it'll be a while before it's finished. DH does things on sloooow time :D I did order the power rack that I posted a week or two ago!!

Marcy, I hope you enjoy your yoga rotation. How long will you be doing it. Just throwing some chinups and pullups in there ;) I am sure you won't lose any strength!!

Hi Everyone!

Today I did Mark Blanchard's Foundation. It was even tougher than yesterday. Lots of balancing on one leg and chaturangas. Lots of holds in chaturanga so I was definitely working my upper body. I even tried kicking back into chaturanga from crane (not a pretty sight!) Did shoulderstand and put hands on thighs (harder than it looks). I guess my core is getting stronger.

Did 2 chinups and 1 close grip pullup. Tomorrow is cardio, Thursday - Blanchard: The Flow and Friday Blanchard: The Core.

I'll probably do this rotation for this month (up until I move). After that, I might not be working out for a few weeks until I get my house set up. I just got word that my buyer is closing on her property on Thursday so now we're trying to schedule a closing date.

Hi Chinsters,

My workouts have been slacking. I have to get busy. I did a chin yesterday but I guess I cheat because I have to pull my knees kind of up to help me pull up. My legs don't stay straight down.

The weather here is terrible. It is the winter that never wants to end. Usually, I can ride my bike to work by now. I rode my bike some last Friday but this week it is soooo cold. OK, I will quit my complaining.

Marcy, I am impressed with your yoga abilities!! Sounds like a good rotation to stick with prior to moving.

Joanne, I count that chin. My legs start straight for the first reps and then I start coming forward. Fortunately for me, there is a bar in front of me that keeps me from doing that so much :D

Thanks, Catherine. All I know is I'm very happy when doing yoga. It feels good to work out barefoot and not to have to drag out any equipment and then put it all away. I love bodyweight exercises, flexibility training and balance work and yoga's got all of it.

Joanne - I would defintely count the one chinup. My knees come up sometimes too.

Ok ladies I have a question. I am preparing to get my w/o room ready and need some help. The floor is laminate tile. So I need something like the puzzle mats for cardio. Do any of you all use those? If you do what kind and where did you get them? Do you like them? They seem to very popular. My dream would be to install an aerobic floor like Cathe's but $$$$ cha-ching will keep me from doing that.

Hi Catherine!

I don't use puzzle mats but I've seen them at Home Depot. I haven't really heard anyone complain about them. Anyone who has them seems to like them. There are plenty of threads on them if you do a search.

I do plan on getting a floor like Cathe's. I checked out stage step flooring and it turned out to be about $300 (just for the floor). I asked my DH if he would install it. My room's only about 10x13. Don't know how big yours is.

Oh man am I beat!!! I just finshed my w/o a bit ago. I did legs and chinups followed by CTX Kickbox. Whew, kickbox was murder after doing legs-WTH was I thinking LOL :+

Legs
Squats:
Warmup 50# 8, 75# 6
Working set 92.5# 3 sets of 9 (up 2.5# and 1 reps each set)

RDLs:
Warmup set 70# 10
Working set 95# 3 sets of 10 (same as last)

Front Squats:
60# 3 sets of 9 (same wt up by 1 rep each set)

Good Mornings:
47.5# 10 reps (felt easy upped wt)
50# 2 sets of 10 (feel like I am improving on these)

Calf Raise:
120# 3 sets of 20 (up by 10#)

Chinups: 3 sets of 5 with 2.5 ankle wts on and 3 sets of 5 BW only (thats one more extra weighted set from last week!!!)

After writing all that out, no wonder I am tired :D

Joanne...I HATE WINTER. (I didn't USED to sound that way...but it's getting to me now!!!!) It's endless, eternal, neverending. It snowed here yesterday, but I guess I can't complain as you got much more from what I'm hearing. It's gone now, but we currently have a nasty rain, wind storm goin on. I WANT TO GET BACK OUTSIDE!!

Now...on a positive note...I did 5 pullups this morning and I'm going to finish the rest soon. Also did slow and heavy legs. Weights 91# for squats, 60#lunges, 60# plie squats. Then some shoulder work.

My workouts have been pretty spaced too Joanne...but I'm trying to get back on schedule. REALLY trying. :7 :7 :7 :7 .

Good Morning Chinsters!

This morning I did Mark Blanchard's Core. This was the easiest one of the Sedona series but still had some good ab work.

I did 2 chins yesterday along with Mark Blanchard's Flow and Lisa Nunziella's Red Hot Salsa 2. So far I'm really enjoying my rotation. I'm going to try and do a little extra cardio to get these extra few pounds off and the extra body fat. After I move, I'll go back to a muscle building rotation, take a week off and then hopefully STS will arrive!

Briee - Great work on those pullups!:) and great leg workout! Sorry you had the snow but I'm glad it wasn't me! Where I'm going, they only get 1.5 inches a year (if that much). My DH is leaving the snow blower for the new owners.

Marcy, glad you are enjoying your rotation. I hope you are right about STS coming soon!!! Oh and I know what you mean about extra pounds x( I've gained 10 pounds over the year. Some of which I know is muscle- but obviously not all of it. It was about a year ago that I started going heavier with the wts and the gain makes sense. The heavier I lift the hungrier I am x( I need to eat more veggies, but I am just too darn picky!!

I did heavy upper body today. I bought a 50# DB a few weeks ago mainly for plie squats (like Cathe does in S&H holding the DB in the front- I think that works it better than a BB for plies) and anyway I did one arm rows 3 sets of 4 reps with it today. I was kinda suprised- and that was after doing pullups!!

My pullups were:
4/2, 3/2,3/2,3/2 and 2/2(first number unassisted, second with a light band) I got 2 more unassisted reps this time!! I felt like I could have eeeeeked out 5 on the first set, but didn't want to wear myself out to early. I am very happy with my pullup progress!! A few weeks ago I was doing sets of 2s and singles!!

Whew.....50# rows!!!! I don't own any 50# db's:) . I'll have to come to your home and use yours Catherine!!!

I forgot to mention that I have the puzzle flooring and I couldn't work out without it. It's over cement - so it's very needed!!

I did PH last night and LL this morning and walked 4 miles. Why do I exercise in spurts??? I'm trying hard to lift every day and get back in a regular patternx( x( x( x( x( x( x( . My abs hurt a bit!! I think PH and LL were too close together for my abs to recover - they were mad at me!

I'm dropping a few pounds too!! Maybe we can do this together? Problem is...it's probably the last 5 or 10 lbs for all of us and those are the HARDEST to loose!! }( }( }( }( }( }( }( . Gotta get my diet back in order!!

Great workouts Catherine and Marcy!! Joanne, what are you up to workout wise? It snowed last night. x( x( x( x( x( x( x( . I used to be so happy about winter and snow....x( x( x( x( .

Briee, good to hear from you!! LOL at your abs being mad at you. That reminds me, I haven't done abs in a couple of weeks x( So your workouts are sporadic and you are losing wt? Hmmmmmm, maybe I got this all wrong :+

I hate that I am 10 heavier x( I know I have built some muscle, but not that much darn it!!

Today I did heavy legs. I was able to squat 115# for 4 sets of 5. My goal this week was to do 5 sets of 5 at 110. Last week I did 4 sets of 5 at 110. So today I warmed up and did my first set at 110 and decided to bump it up for the next set (intended to just do one set at 115) and did the remaining 4 sets at 115!!

I plan cardio and pullups tomorrow.
