***Chinups, Pullups and much more***

Linda - thanks for the advice. I'm going to try it next time.

Catherine-yes, I preordered. Can't wait!

Joanne

Hey gang!!! I got my new egonomic 30 # DBs today :eek: I already have 30 pounders but believe it or not they are not both 30 pounds. I bought them at different times and one is about 1.25 pounds heavier than the other. You wouldn't think it would make a big difference, but it does for me!!! Today was a rest day ahhhhhhhh!! I was gonna do some yoga, but decided not to.

Linda, can not wait to see what you do next.

Joanne, have you been watching the STS clips?

Pebs, how are you doing?

I posted earlier but I don't know where it went.

Joanne - If you do try the chinup/pushup workout you could try and vary the pushups - wide grip, close grip, incline, decline, one hand one step - to really hit the upper body from different directions. You could also try a couple pullups as they hit the back at little more.

Catherine - What are ergonomic DB? I should weigh my own, I'd probably be surprised what I find! 1.25 pounds is a lot. On those Bench Press 97# was my max, if you would have added 1.25# I would not have made the reps, and I add just .5# to my DB curls and failed. So it can make a hugh difference. Oh, I look at the next four weeks and....no chin ups or pullups!:D:D:p:D:D

Linda, the ergo DBs have the nice curved handles. My 35 pounders have it and I love them. So comfy on the hands. And since the 30 pounders I have were lopsided I had an excuse to buy new ones :D

Oh, and you do not get out of chins/pulls that easy little missy :p You know you must do them some!!!

Catherine-I've watched just a little bit of the clips. Gosh-that one with them doing the chins-holy moly!

Linda-that is a good idea to mix up the variations of push ups. I think I will do upper body on Saturday and try this then.

Pebs-welcome (I know I'm a little late with that - sorry).

Joanne

Morning Friends,

This morning was the last day in this rotation, next week changes it up! Yea!!! I just wonder how may of these rotations I am suppose to do before taking a break? There has to be 6 four rotations and Craig never mentions a break between them anywhere.

Superset A
DB Forward Lunge
8/8/8 - 40's
Side Planks
30 sec hold X 3 also held 5#

Superset B
RDL's
8/8/8 - 121# **stayed the same here, afraid to go much higher***
SB Jacknifes
15/15/15

Superset C
Step Ups
8/8/8 - 25's **I like being able to do these at a nice slow controlled pace, I can really concentrate on the front leg***
SB Hamstring Roll Ins
15/15/15

The cardio 6 rounds at 60/60 ration using Amy's power ups.

Joann - Be sure to come back and tell us how take workout went!

Catherine - Those DB sound nice!

Now I am off to take the kids to the zoo!

Linda, have fun at the zoo. I like doing step ups at mine own pace to. I can really heavy up if I do that. Although, I find my arms tire from holding the wts before my legs do

This morining I did upper body followed by SZ strikes 1-5. It was hard punching after upper body LOL!!

Bench
85# 8/8/7/6 (failed on the 7th rep on last set- better than last week)
OHP
20# 8/8/8/6 (still struggling to increase wt, did extra set of 6)
Skull Crushers
21.25 1 set of 8 dropped to 20# 9/8
Conc curls
26.25 9/8/8 (better than last week)
WG Pullups
5/6/6/5/5

I wonder if my shoulders lag behind because they are fatigued from the benching? I dunno, just a thought.

Joanne, do let us know how the workouts are going!!!

Back from the zoo! Had a nice time, but it was really crowded. WE think because most of the beaches around here are closed due to the needles washing up. In fact we were originally headed to the beach, but chnaged our minds because of the needles.(the beach we were going to hasn't been closed YET) Unfortunately, DD has a fever and is not feeling well, and we have to head back out to a minor league baseball game tonight!

Good news is, clothes are fitting better. Shorts were not tight when I put them on this morning! :D Just a little snug but buttoned easily!:D:D Have to spend the day at the water park next weekend and need to look good in my swimsuit!:p

Catherine - That's why the versagrips are so great. I can go heavy on the DB for legs and my arms never become an issue!:D

Leg w/o is done. I decided to scale it back a bit. I wonder if I've been over working my legs. I'm still gonna do twice a week, but fewer exercises on my heavier day.

Squats 85# 3sets of 12
RDLs 85# 3 sets of 10
One-legged Squats- 3 sets of 8 (did these in my power cage-used the bar to hold on to with two fingers on each hand, tried to focus on legs and not using upper body much)

Finished up with GSL floor work.

Now I just need to do some cardio, but I am too lazy right now LOL!!

Linda, I am glad to hear your clothes are fitting better. Is it just the change in the eating that is making the difference??

This morning was cardio and I did Amy's ASC I doing the power ups first. BOy I love that workout, but she nearly killed me on combo four. I am not that good at that one yet so it left me huffing and puffing trying to keep up!

Catherine - Nice leg workout! I personally hate floor work! Yes, the change in my clothes is due to my eating changes. You would be so proud of how clean I am eating. And even better is even when I do blow it (like eating some of DD fries:eek:) I just don't trash the whole day and binge.:D:D:D:D:D

Linda, I tend to do that thing where I say oh well, what the hell,..... Good for you!! I really need to tighten up on my carbs. My belly seems to be growing as we speak

I finally did KickMax kicking and punching drills only for a little cardio. Oh, and I hate floor work too. But I think doing the floor work esp the inner and outter thigh work has helped my lower back issues. So I try to through it in there.

I am heading to a cook out at my sisters and will likely be consuming lots of carbs in the way of Yellow Tail Shiraz  Well, at least a couple of glasses :)

Linda, after hearing you talk about Amy, I am very afraid!!

Hey Catherine I finally found a park with some monkey bars hehe.. well, actually they were the low plastic kinds so the pullups were still modified. Ive found that its easier for me to do a whole pullup from a hanging start rather that with my knees bended up. But even tho I couldn't hang from these bars I still think I got 'em. 5 sets OH 5 set UH.. Ill still keep an eye out for the higher ones ;)

Woo, I am definitely feeling the legs this morning  Esp the back side which is where I need it  This morning I did 4ds cardiopower premix (KB+BC) After last night's eating I think I need to do it again

Will be watching some football this afternoon, but no other plans.

What about you ladies, any big plans for today?

Oh, I may try to do some pullups later.

Did some ab work on the stability ball and then wide grip pullups. I think the wider grip is aggravating my shoulder. Will have to watch that. I did 6/5/5/5/5 The last set I brought my grip in a little. I think I am done for the day :p

Tomorrow is GS C&T/BS&B premixes

Hope you all have had a great weekend!!!

I changed my mind. I am gonna do BM2 double upper body premix today instead of the GS upper body. I've been doing the GS's for a month now. Great results, but gonna change it up a bit. Wish me luck!!:p

I still have a bit of lower body DOMS from Saturday's leg w/o. Hope that means it's a good one ;)

Morning, Morning, Morning,

**NO Chinups for me today, NO Chinups for me today, NO Chinups for me today**:p:p:p:p (imagine singing and happy dance) :D:D:D:D

Seriously, today started the day one of the next four weeks. Really enjoyed this workout, and am really excited to try and do some improving over the next four weeks on some of the exercises. So here it goes:

Superset A
Incline DB Press
6/6/6 - 40's
DB Rear-Delt Raise
10/10/10 - 15 **This one needs work:eek::eek:**

Superset B
One Arm DB Row
6/6/6 - 50# **This hit the back good**
DB Floor Press
10 - 35's
8/8 - 38's ***This is an interesting exercise, interested to see what it does***

Superset C
DB Tricep Extensions
8/8/8 - 20's ***This is the other one that needs work!!:eek:**
Alternating DB Incline Curls
8/8/8 - 23 **This leaves my arms toasted***

Then cardio at 30/90 ratio for 6 rounds doing high knee runs. Then I went back and did some isometric holds on the tri extensions and the rear delt raise.

Catherine - Happy DOMS for you! FitnessFreak gave up doing wide grip pullups, because she heard how bad they are for the shoulders. So be careful. DH and DM had shoulder surgery, doesn't look like fun! So how did BM2 DUB go?

Weekend was super busy, Friday - zoo & baseball game, Saturday - FIL 70th bday party at really fancy restraunt (I stayed away from dessert table:D, just had fresh strawberries:D:D), Sunday - church (sung & taught), bday pool party, back to church. Today DH and DS went to sign up for swim lessons then are fishing and perhaps surfing, waiting for call to see what the rest of day hold in store.

Catherine - I forgot to ask you - you said something about being afraid of Amy? Did you order her new workouts? Have you done anything by amy before?

BM2 double upper body is done (I didn't do abs because I did them yesterday). Pretty pleased with the workout except my shoulder performance  I think my shoulders just fatigue easily and there are two sets of decline pushups on the stabilty ball and two sets of wide pushups prior to the shoulder work that I am gonna say limit my shoulders-that's my story and I'm sticking to it  I will be doing some cardio shortly. Maybe drillmax.

Linda, you sound way to happy not to be chinning!!! Your workout looks good. Can you explain the DB floor press?

I agree about WG pullups and shoulder issues. I think I've found the width that I can go to without compromising my shoulders.

I don't have any of Amy's stuff. But if she kicks your butt she must be tough

Catherine - I agree shoulders are brutal! Rear Delt Raises are my worse exercise. I read once that LauraMax uses 40's for them, I can't even imagine that. The floor press just basically a chest press laying flat on the floor. I mean completely flat with legs straight, so of course you have the limited ROM, so I am thinking that is the benefit because you are just working the top half of the motion. Craig is starting another TT Challenge today, I am seriously considering joining. Amy is tough and I just got ASCIII the other day I have yet to preview, but I can't wait to try it.
