RE: **Chinups in the Summer Time There's Nuttin Like It...

Briee, glad to hear you are having good weather. GS is gonna be my next upper body routine for a while. I will be doing the time savers though and combining them into one workout. That way I can still do my heavier upper body later in the week.

Linda, I hope you are well soon. BTW did you see my suggestion for your PT name: Strong Heart, Strong Mind, Strong Body?

I will be trying a little of SZ again this evening and maybe some chinups. I will definitetlynot do them if it aggravates the ole back :D

Joanne and Marcy how ya doing?

happy 4rth weekend everyone!!

Happy 4th everyone!!!

This morning I did most of SZ. I look like a fish flopping around trying to do the spider webs :+ I also did 8 sets of 5 chinups with 5 added pounds. Trying to make up for lost time ;)

Hope you all have a great day!!

RE: **Chinups in the Summer Time There's Nuttin Like It...

Hey Ladies,

Haven't worked out so there was nothing to report. But a week of no activity finally got to me this morning. Can tell I haven't workout because sleep is getting difficult. So here's what i did this morning.
Thought I'd stick with the full body five rep thing since it's been a week.

Barbell Press
5/4 - 105#
5 - 100#

Barbell Rows
5/5/5 - 100#

Squats to parallel
5/5/5 - 110#

Overhead Press
5/5/5 - 30's

Barbell Curls
5/5/5 - 55# - really worked the negative on these

Cross Body Kickbacks
8/7/9 - 20's - the fact that my left arm is weaker really showed on this exercise, so I think I will add exercise for the left arm for awhile.

Then during the one minute rests between sets I ran on the TM at 4.5 for a total of 15 minutes and traveled a little over a mile. Good news is the knee felt great! Then did some offset lunges and stability ball roll outs for abs. Should be good and tired tonight!

Hey Friends,

Did BM2 Timesaver cardio doing the intervals first then the finished combos. I slept great last night. How great to workout!

Catherine - Yes I saw your name suggestion and I like what it says, but it's a little to long, makes a great tag line though!

RE: **Chinups in the Summer Time There's Nuttin Like It...

Linda, glad you got in a good night sleep and a good workout!!

I did my first wt workout since I hurt my back. I combined the GS upper body premixes  I haven't done the GS upper body in well over a year, if not two. I forgot how brutal these can be }( I really need to do some cardio today. But I am not sure at this point if it will happen. Tomorrow I plan on working legs. Will either do B&G standing or 4ds standing leg work. I may throw in GS floor work-we'll see ;)

How's everyone else doing??

RE: **Chinups in the Summer Time There's Nuttin Like It...

OK, I am pretty sore from yesterday's upper body w/o  I managed B&Gs this morning. I forgot how long that one is. I didn't do the fire hydrants and pizza press part of the floor work. I may try to do some pullups later. Not sure that'll go very well considering how sore I am :D

RE: **Chinups in the Summer Time There's Nuttin Like It...

Morning Chinsters,

The sore throat is still lingering, but I am feeling better. Any I started a TT rotation today.

Superset A
RDL
8/8/8 - 105#
DB Chest press
8/8/8 - 40's
***the RDL was suppose to be with DB's but I don't have DB's heavy enough to challenge me and was surprised how hard the chest press was w/ 40's since I can go way heavier w/ a barbell.

Superset B
DB Reverse Lunge
8/8/8 - 35's
1 Arm Shoulder Press
8/8/8 - 25#

Think I will have some good DOMS in my legs, hey were shaking by the end. Then did 20 minutes of intervals in a 30/90 ratio. Did side jumps, suicides, forward jumps, forward bounding, traveling speed skaters, & suicides again.

Catherine - How's the back? Okay I hope?

Briee - I have two 4 day split 8 week rotations, one is just straight sets and the other alternates between straight & supersets from week to week. Let me know if your interested?

RE: **Chinups in the Summer Time There's Nuttin Like It...

Linda, good workout. I can not imagine hoisting 40 pounders up for chest press . I can do 35s but only about 6 reps. You are right it is waaaay easier with BB :D

My back is doing better, thanks for asking. I did B&Gs yesterday. Forgot how evil that one is }( Didn't do all of the floor work though. Not a big fan of floor work. I also did manage 1 set of 5 pullups. Upper body was still sore from the GSs on Sat.

Call me crazy, but I did the GS upper body premixes again today. It was an effort to get me back on my schedule. I did the SS premix of C&T and the TS premix of BSB. I went slightly heavier than Cathe on most everything. I still wimp out on the bonus burn with the band and never get through the horrible "pulse for 15"  My chest was shaking so much I could see it at one point LOL!!

Alright, were are the rest of you guys. Briee, Joanne, Marcy!!!!

RE: **Chinups in the Summer Time There's Nuttin Like It...

Hi Ev eryone,

I did LIC timesaver cardio this morning.

Nice workouts Catherine. I am not a big fan of floor work either. And I've been there with the shaking chest. It's so funny to try and keep going when your muscle are shaking a mile a minute. Glad your back is doing better.

RE: **Chinups in the Summer Time There's Nuttin Like It...

Waving a quick hi. Now down to do a workout. FINALLY.

Glad you guys are feeling better!!! Also....I'd love a run down of your 4DS Linda. I think I'd prefer the straight lifting for now - but I'd love the variation of SS interspersed in the future. Thanks so much!!

Briee

RE: **Chinups in the Summer Time There's Nuttin Like It...

Wait a minute...I just reread the above Linda. I think I'd like the variable work that intersperses the SS on alternate weeks. Thanks again.
