(((Chinups-Everybody Loves Them!!)))

Oh yeah, is there no end? Saturday morning DD woke up crying with a headache and a fever. Fever & Headache persisted over weekend and became ear infection, so off to the pediatrician Monday morning. She is doing better but it is a slow recovery. She even threw up in bed again last night. Now guess what. DS now has, fever, headache and cough!:p I am tired.:confused:
 
We had wind storms this afternoon/evening. I was doing some 1 RM testing and had just picked up some heavy dbs to test close grip bench and the lights went out :confused: Luckily I hadn't hoisted them up yet or I might have dropped them :eek: Lights were out for a little over an hour and are back on right now **crosses fingers and hopes they stay on**

I'm here! I had to take my dad to a cardiologist and it took up most the day. He had a stress test yesterday and his Dr. was very concerned with his shortness of breath and tightness in his chest. He had a heart attack in '97 and had 2 stents put in. I have to take him to the heart hospital on Tuesday for an angiogram to see what the problem is. He may need new stents, an angioplasty or worst case senerio, a bypass. He's 83 years young so I'm a little worried about the riskiness of these procedures.

I did disc 5 back/triceps today. The target weights jumped to 65 % and I'm still scratching my head on some of the numbers. My bb rows were at 68lbs, one are rows at 31, overhead extension at 28...just to name a few. I'm not sure how I'll handle 85-90% of my 1 rep max if I'm struggling at 65%. I think the high rep count has a lot to do with it which is mostly 15 but some 21's.

I was hoping to get my assisted pullup bands for today's workout but they haven't come yet. I did 2 sets of 12 chins (2 unassisted, 10 assist up but negative down) and 1 set of 8 pullups all assisted w/chair negative down.

Catherine, are you almost done with your rep max testing? It is more time consuming than first thought. I've read some posts where some people have done all of them in one session. I don't know how if they are lifting really heavy.:confused: Still not sure how kettlebells are going to fit into STS and I'm missing them already. Hope your foot is better tomorrow.

Linda, How is your shoulder? Sorry to hear DD isn't feeling well. Those ear infections can be really painful. I see someone posted in OD about versa gripps. Funny how you were just talking about those!
 
Judi, sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he does ok!!

I am almost done with upper body 1RM. There's no way I could have done it in 1 or even 2 sessions :confused: I am waiting on most of the lower body till foot is better. I am amazed at the average 1 RM that shows up after you have entered yours. Makes me wonder if I am doing something wrong. Mine are almost always higher than the average-except shoulders :eek:

Linda, I hope you had a quiet night with no sick kiddos!!

I wondered the same thing as all my 1 rep max numbers are higher than the average and some are 20+ lbs or more:eek: I have a feeling the averages are incorrect or skewed somehow OR maybe I lifted heavier than I can really handle as I've been struggling with some of the targets weights (and I'm only at 65%!)

I got my pull-up bands today and I would have tried them out but I had a massage earlier and ache all over:confused: Maybe tomorrow after legs.......

Judi, I bet you didn't lift heavier than you can. I just wonder how accurate the 1RM is for endurance type w/os. I know that I have always sucked at enduance. Give me heavier and fewer reps any day!

Sorry you were too sore to try out your bands. Was the soreness from the massage or from your w/o??

I didn't w/o this evening. My foot was really throbbing by the end of the day:confused: I have been in a sour mood all week. I honestly think it's because I need a good heart pumping sweaty cardio w/o:mad:

Catherine- I'm not a fan of endurance w/o's either. I think that is why I liked P90X so much.

I'm sore from the massage. My whole right side was really messed up with tightness, knots and muscle spasms. WTH! I workout to keep myself healthy but sheesh......I'm a knotted up mess.

Congrats on your DeCathelete status:D I completely understand the power of NO CARDIO on the psyche. Crossing my fingers for no more throbbing in your foot so you can get in some in soon.

Okay I posted this earlier, but I have no idea where it went?:confused::confused::confused:


Because when it rains it pours. DD is still recovering, DS is sick, DH has stomach virus (finally), my Dad was on vacation in Florida, and is experience chest pains past two days and is now at this very minute flying home to go to the emergency room, and my sister is awaiting results on a lump in her breast.

Well, have to run meeting parents at airport to take them to hospital.....


Now here is my update....

Just back from the hospital. My Dad made the flight okay, and went directly to the hospital. Good News is at this point he has not had an actual heart attack. Praise God! But many signs point to there being something going on with his heart. He is stable and was kept at the hospital, until he is seen by his heart doctor tomorrow. Thank you for the prayers, it was a long six hours waiting for that flight to arrive.

Will catch up on personals tomorrow!!!
 
Oh Linda!! My goodness what a weeek you've had ((HUGS)) I am glad to hear your dad didn't have a heart attack and hope they figure out soon what is wrong.
 
Quick check in before I head back to the hospital with DM. They are giving him a stress test this afternoon.

Today was Total Body Challange 3 from Amy's Slo Mo. Again sets had 8 reps with varying speeds.

Core **skipped this, ran out of time. Will try & do tomorrow.;)

DS dragged himself to school this morning, so he could attend the Valentine's party. I sure hope he is okay. :) He was so brave this morning. DH is still home. And to quote DD yesterday "There is throw up coming out my butt".

Catherine- I tried out my pull up bands this morning and banged out a couple set of 5! I started with the medium band and I like how this feels over using a chair.

How is your foot today?
 
My goodness you all have so much going on right now. Lots of prayers going out!! And you all are still working out WOW!! Prayers going out for your families!!

I didn't workout today. Foot is still painful with certain activities. It's not bad really, but I know it's not well and I am trying so hard to behave myself so it will get better. It's hard. I am going to my KB session tomorrow. Will just have to forgo things like lunges.
