(((((CHINUPS BE GOOD))))

hey chinsters

I'm still doing my one chin here and there. Hopefully, STS will kick me up to two. Then, I will have more to report to you all instead of the same old - I did one chin today - report.

Have a great Sunday.

Joanne

Hey Joanne!! It's good to see ya. Hope you are doing well! Hey doing 1 is better than none. And I think STS will definitely help!!

I am sipping my coffee and getting ready for an upper body w/o followed by some cardio. Then my in-laws will be coming over for the afternoon. Not the Sunday I had planned :( I like my lazy Sundays. Get up w/o and go to the couch and watch Lifetime movies :D:p

Linda, I keep meaning to ask you a question about warmup sets. I know when lifting heavier a bit of warmup set is needed. But I wonder sometimes if I am doing too much. Like for instance for upper body I usually use a Cathe w/u to get the blood flowing and then I'll do 2-3 sets(6-8 reps)of bench presses with a lighter wt before moving to my working set. So I'll start at 45# do 6-8 reps, increase to 65# x 6-8 reps,... Is there a rule of thumb about w/u sets? I don't want to fatigue myself before getting to the working set. I just want to be good and warmed up.

Well, I never even heard the alarm go off this morning. DH finally woke me up half an hour after I was suppose to be up. Must been really tired because felt like I had no strength this morning, by the second superset I was feeling shaky and I don't mean my muscles I mean me. It was weird. So my pull and chin number went down  .

Superset A
Pullups
6/8, 5/8, 5/8 **Down one on first set :eek::mad:***
DB Floor Press
8/8/8 - 46's **up a half a #**

Superset B
Chins
6/8, 6/8, 4/8 **down two on first & last set :eek::mad:**
Db Incline Press
8/8 - 41's
8 - 40's **Like I said I was feeling shaky so I dropped the weight***

Superset C
Inverted Rows
15/15/15
Decline Pushups
20/20/20

Took everything I had to continue on and do the cardio, but I got 'er done!
Did a 20/40 ration for 8 rounds using the second power up from ASC 1, which is a leap over the step for eigth, jump on top for eight, then jump over for eight. Then did combo 1 from ASC 3.

Catherine - funny you should ask about warm up sets, because I have been wondering about them myself. ACE's manual does not address them and of course if you google it, you will get tons of prons and cons just like with anything. I can however tell you that Turbulance Traning has you do one set of the first superset at 75% of the reps and 75% of the weight. The main point I think is to keep the reps low because you do not want to start build up any lactic acid that will fatigue the muscle. So if your working set is eight reps ,your w/u set should be about five reps, and of course lighter. HTH! As I research it more I be sure to update you.

Now, I have to go make a duck.......

Linda, what a way to start the day  You know your numbers were not bad at all. I think mind set is half of it anyway. So starting off lated probably put you in a funk. That's my excuse for you and I am sticking to it :p Seriously, nice work!!

I did Imax this evening. I really like this and can not believe it took me this long to get it LOL!!

I am looking forward to my next session with KB Kate on Friday!!

Hi Marcy and Joanne!!!

Did not want to get out of bed this morning, at all! Got up any way and did Amy's ASC 3 through to combined 3 & 4, took about an hour, than had to stop because I had to take DD to school this morning.

Hi Everyone!

Nice to hear from you, Joanne! Glad to see you're still chinning.

Did P90X Chest & Back yesterday. My performance on chins/pulls yesterday was pitiful. Only did 1 chin and could barely get up halfway on the wide pulls. Did 1 close grip pullup.

Did 1 more chin when I got home.

Today was Tracey's Steady State Step. Loved it! Complex choreo but doable. Great except for when the camera goes to their feet or their fact and then I lose it a little bit. Great music too.

Catherine - Glad to see you're not hopeless with KBs. So how do you like it compared to regular weight training?

Linda - Great workout! How's the costume coming along? What's your DS going to be?

Marcy

Linda, glad you got out of bed even though you didn't wanna :p That was me all week last week

Marcy, I find doing chins and pulls during C&B very difficult. So I say good job!!

As far as how KBs compare to other training, I am not sure. I really haven't done enough to say. I don't think it'll take the place of my heavier wt lifting, but maybe use it as a suppliment.

I was supposed to do B&G when I got home this evening. But my new dvds were here and I decided to try HLMB. Well, I have to say I am a bit disappointed. More in the quaility of the dvd than the w/o. I stink at hi-lo and anything dancey. So that's a given. But I could barely hear Tracey and one time her voice was completely gone for several seconds  I wish I had done B&Gs :(

Catherine, sorry about your new DVD. I know how disappointing that is, when I tried Amy's ASC II I couldn't hear her cuing over the music unless I played it really loud (which for me during a workout is not an option because DH would kill me). To make matters worse I don't even really like the music. :p Maybe it will get better after a couple times through.

Thanks Linda. I think it's a good w/o, but I just couldn't hear her cuing :( Plus my neuroma started acting up  Oh well, there's always tomorrow,.....

Well, I had a lousy workout this morning. Good thing is today kids are off school so I got to sleep in a little, but still didn't want to get up! I had one of those nights where I don't think I changed my position at all during the night. Got dressed, went downstairs and I just didn't feel like working out at all, then DD gets up and starts interrupting me about every 5 minutes. Then you should have heard the conversation I had going with myself trying to talk myself into doing the cardio. I really think I need a break.

Superset A
Pistol Squats
8/8/8 **these were ugly this morning***
BB Bench Press
6/6/6 - 110# *** I almost did not make the last rep, it was a long fight up**

Superset B
RDL
8 - 130# **felt someting pulling in back of my left knee, so decided to drop the weight.
8/8 -120# **these were suppose to be 125# but didn't realize until later that I had taken 10# off the bar instead of 5# Duh!**
Spiderman Pushups
5/5/5

Superset C
Step ups
10/10/10 - 35's ** up 6# total, did well here***
Rear Delt Raises
12/12/12 - 15's **these were the same but I did not work them as hard***

Then cardio at a 45/90 ratio using Amy's ASC 1 power up 1 for six rounds, then 4DS LIS combos/intervals 1 & 2.

Linda, you sound like you are having the week that I had last week. I was just not motivated to do anything. Weird. This week I am fine. Go figure. Kudos to you for working out when you didn't want to!!!

I did B&Gs this evening. It's amazing when I finish this w/o my glutes are like rocks. I wish they would stay that way :p

Hey gang!! I did Tracey's new SSS this morning. Well, I spent a lot of time staring at the TV going HUH? I really am not a choreo person. It's a good w/o, but something seemed different. It was like it was to a faster beat or something??? I did some weighted chins too. Pitiful,... it's been almost a month since I did them weighted and I didn't even do a full session last week  I did 3/2,3/2,3/2,2/2,2/2 Last time I did weighted I did 5 sets of 5. Oh well, more work to be done

I may do upper body later,.....

Alarm didn't go off this morning and had to run off to DD's school for her big debut as a duck. But I did manage a Amy's ITR Premix which was about 45 minutes and I added my weighted gloves for intensity.

Catherine
wouldn't it be great if we could just keep that pump after a workout. :p I find you have to keep up wit chins & pulls to keep your numbers up, problem is they are so draining. I have a whole workout of them tomorrow (last one though:D:D:D:D:D:D:D) I sure do hope this funk goes away!

Linda, LOL at your DD big debut as a duck!!! How cute!!

You are right chins and pulls require consistent work. They are mentally and physically draining. I will get back to the groove soon!!

Ok, I can not get over how fast October has gone by

Hey, Catherine I know you are not real happy with Tracey's new workouts, but do you like her other stuff? Always looking for new cardio!

Oh here is DD as a duck, not a great shot but ....

What a cute little duckie!!!

I only have 3 of Tracey's w/o. Strike Zone, which I really like. And the 2 new ones that I just got. They are all pretty good. Although, I would say (since you are an intensity junkie) they are more intermediate than advanced as far as intensity goes. The new w/o's are good, just have some audio issues.

Okay I don't think you could pay me enough money to pick up a weight next week. Today was the last weight workout in this four week rotation and I have gone non-stop for 16 weeks. If any it will be cardio only next week. Today was a decent workout but certainly nothing holler about.

Superset A
Pullups
4/8, 5/8, 4/8 - **Numbers were down again from last week:eek::(**
DB Floor Press
8/8/8 - 45's **Dropped back from 46's, no since risking injury if you know you are not up to it***

Superset B
Chin ups
4/8,6/8, 4/8 **down again**
Incline DB Press
8/8/8 - 38's **Started at 40's but just didn't have the energy, so dropped the weight , again no sense injuring myself***

Superset C
Inverted Rows
15/15/15
Decline Pushups
20/20/20

Cardio at 20/40 ratio for eight rounds using power up 2 from Amy's ASC 1, then combos 2,3 & 4 also from ASC 1.

Hey Linda!! I can not believe you are done with this rotation. Man, it flew by. I think a break is a good idea!! I feel ya on those chinup and pullup numbers. It's depressing when you do so well and then you can't quite get back there. There are so many things that make a difference - eating, sleeping, mental health,..... You know all that though ;)

I gave HLMB another go this morning and it went much better. DH adjusted the audio and at least I could hear Tracey. It's still a bit hard to hear her at times, but doable. Of course, some of the moves are very dancy. Well, this chick isn't a a dancer. Can you say Elaine from Seinfeld??:confused::confused: At least I got in a workout :) I have a session with Katie this afternoon.

Have a good day!!
