(((Chinups and all that Jazz!!)))

Hello Ladies!! I finally got off the couch today and worked out  I was supposed to do P90X L&B but decided to do Providence instead. Just felt like kettlebelling  I seriously would like to know what size bell the girl who was disappointed in Providence was using because I find it quit challenging

I will do upper body and chins on Tues. My rotation is messed up anyway  At least I only have to work 2 days this week :eek:

Chin up bar

I was just watching the chinups by Cathe on youtube. I assume there has been a discussion on the chin uo bar she uses but I can't find it. Does anyone know where to purchase the apparatus she uses for the pullups?

Thanks and happy holidays to all!!

It's not available yet. As far as I know it's supposed to be ready to market in Feburary, but that could change.

Okay you two are making me so jealous, still no Providence for me and I haven't heard from the company at all.:(:(:( Although I don't know how I will fit it in with my current rotation.

JJ - I am doing Turbulance Training by Craig Ballantyne right now. And don't sweat the boys doing chin ups, as Catherine says they are hard to do.

Catherine - Should I get Lauren's KB DVD too?

Morning, first day of Phase 2 TT for Abs. I think my abs might really look great after this if I can only get the fat off of them!:p:p:p:p Really, no more excuses. I really want to go look into the carpal tunnel surgery.

Will be interesting to see what kind of DOMS I end up with any.

Superset A
DB Reverse Lunge
8/8/8 - 30's
Decline Spiderman Pushups (done on perfect pushups)
8/8/8 ***was suppose to be 12/12/12 but that wasn't happening using those handles, kinda wish they had a locking position***

Superset B
Pull-up w/ Knee up
4/4/4 ***was suppose to be 6/6/6, maybe next time***
Stability Ball Leg Curl
20/20/20 ***Could barely walk at end of third set***

Superset C
Ab Wheell Roll Out
10/10/10
Stability Ball X-Body Mountain Climbers (Hands on Ball)
10/10/10 per side
Straight Arm Side Plank
30 sec. hold x 3

Then interval cardio at a 30/90 ratio for six rounds using Blast 9 from IMAX 2.

Linda, nice w/o as usual ;) I would wait and get Providence before you buy Lauren's w/o. But then again, I enjoy Lauren's w/o,.... I guess you should decide if kbs are for you or not before you buy more dvds. Unless you have $$$ to burn LOL!!!:D

Other than yoga I haven't met a workout that I really don't like!:p:p:p

But I see your point, and will wait for Providence to arrive, especially since I have Newport too! I did swings during Warp Speed with a DB and loved those, so I am hoping for good things.:D

Nice that you only have to work two days. DH just returned to work after having last week off.

Did Rhythmic Step this evening. Tomorrow will be upper body and chinups of course ;)

Linda, you have to find some time to fit in Providence. I am dying to know what you think!!

Yay Linda! I'm glad you finally got your dvd. Like Catherine, I can't wait to hear what you think. I did it again today and it kicked my @ss. I decided to jump rope during the rest breaks which kicked it up another notch:eek: I hear you about trying to fit it all in. I have basically stopped traditional lifting and now do KB's 3x/week just to switch things up. I googled TT cuz I'm nosy. Did you have to purchase the program? How has it been going for you?

Hey Catherine! Do you use a chair when you need an assist with your chins & pulls? I usually use a chair but for the heck of it, I tried using my gray band and it was kinda cool. Each hand held an end of the band creating a loop in which I put one knee. I was thinking of getting those Woody bands but they are so pricey and I think this worked pretty well. I'll keep working at it:)

JJ

JJ, I use the iron woody band (the lightest one) for assistance. Yes, they are $$ but worth it. I have seen similar bands cheaper on other sites. But for the life of me I can not remember where. Maybe perform better has some.

The kids are off from school all week and I am loving not having a schedule!:D:D:D I can get up later and workout as long as I like. So today I did all of Amy's Advanced Step Challenge 3, (well, except the Power ups:p), workout was an hour and half and I burned 670 calories!:D:eek::D Loved the stretch at the end she really hits the hamstrings good!

JJ- TT Basic was shared with me by someone, but the Abs program I purchased.

Linda, an hour and a half of step? You are a wild woman

I was supposed to do upper body today, but I am taking my rest day. Just too tired to give it my all :(

I will make up for it tomorrow!!

Well, I have to begin this day with a not so happy event. Around noontime we are going to visit my Aunt & Uncle who are up from Florida and this may be the last time I ever see my Uncle. Fifteen months ago my uncle was given 18 months to live, he is not doing well at this time.

Okay, enough, hear is what I did this morning.

Superset A
Bulgarian Split Squats
8/8/8 - 25's
Dips w/ Knees up (at chest level, leaning forward)
5/5/5
***afterwards I double checked and realized this was suppose to be 15/15/15 and I had typed it wrong. Those reps weren't happening anyway, not sure I could have done more than the 5.:p****

Superset B
Chin ups w/ knee ups
7/7/7
***felt really strong on these today, even bumped my head, probably because there weren't proceeded by a ton of pushups!****
Step Ups
8/8/8 - 30's

Superset C
SB Jackknife
15/15/15
***these were suppose to be 20/20/20, but my shoulders start to burn and my form suffers and the added reps just aren't worth my low back***
X-Body Mountain Climbers
12/12/12
Side Plank w/ Leg Raise
10/10/10 per side

Then interval cardio at a 60/60 ratio using Bootcamp for six rounds, then the stretch from Amy's In the Ring and few extra stretches added. W/O was 1:15 and I burned 523 calories.:D

Linda, sorry to hear about your Uncle. Ya know we never know how much time we have with the ones we love. But when they are ill it makes it even more important to make the best of the time we do have ((HUGS))

Nice workout and GREAT job on those chins :eek:

I feel like I am stuck in a rut. I did my upper body workout this morning. Used my 8 kg kb to do a dynamic warm up of swings, around the world, figure 8 and halos.

Bench
85#- 8/6 dropped to 80 :( 8/7
Chins
4 sets of 5 and 3 sets of 3
OHP
12kg bell 3 sets of 8
Skull Crushers
20#- 10/9/8 (1 rep more than last week)
Concentration curls
26.25#- 8/6/6/6 (last week I did 3 sets of 8)

I guess it could be worse, but I was hoping for improvement this week  I may do some cardio later.

JJ, did you do Newport yet??

Linda~ So sorry to hear about your uncle. It is these things in life that can be so painful but at least you get to spend some time with him and he will know how much you care. {{hugs}}

Your workouts are very impressive even though I'm not sure what some of moves are:confused: Way to go!

Catherine~ Wow..your workout looks tough! I feel like I'm stuck sometimes too especially with increasing my weights. I still can't curl my 25's yet for more than a couple of reps and my unassisted chins/pulls are still just a few (with rests in between):(

BTW...did I say I was going to work on my chins & pulls AFTER my kettlebell workouts? What was I thinking? I'm just using an 8 & 12kg but it still wipes me out. Also, I have been jumping rope during the breaks to keep my heart rate up. But I promise I will be working more on them since I don't want to be a "poser" (as my kids would say)

Wishing you both a Happy and Healthy New Year!

JJ

I almost forgot....yes, I did get Newport but I haven't done it yet. I just did Kettlebell Way Empire State this morning for the first time. I'm working up to Newport;)

ROTFLMAO!! JJ I have several times told myself that I was gonna do chinups after Lauren's w/o. Everytime I do I wonder what the hell was I thinking

I think I am gonna do Newport bits at a time. I will add a round on here and there to other workouts. I read that on the AOS forum. They said it's a good way to get used to it.
