Chinup Check In Sept 2

Did some chins today. Numbers are still pitiful. I am gonna try not to worry about the numbers and just do what I can. DH is being very encouraging. He wants me to completely rest till sciatica is better. But chins aren't bothering the back. So I will at least try to get a few sets in every couple of days. I am going nuts, I so want to workout Waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!

Soooooooooooosan, glad to hear your electricity is back on and you all are all OK.

How's everyone's weekend going??

Hi Catherine! So sorry to hear about your sciatica. It must be very frustrating to have come so far with these and then have to take a step (or more!) back.

We've been outside clearing all the branches from our yard. Luckily, nothing fell onto our house. There were a lot of trees down in our area and many people are still without power. We are extremely lucky!

I don't know when I'll be able to get back with the chins, or any UB for that matter. I don't even want to put a barbell on my shoulders to do legwork, so it looks like it's going to be nothing but cardio, floorwork for legs, and maybe some light yoga this week.x(

I did pull-ups and chins today - first set was 4 full-feldged pull-ups followed with a quick grip change and chins. Did that several times, then smaller sets of chins by themselves. I find that this is working out very well - after you do pull-ups, the chins seem easy! It's amazing how a few sets like that can make the biceps pop better than years of longer workouts for upper body! I love working out less and getting better results in the mirror!

Is posting illegally as I am just back into working out and, of course, not doing my chin/pull-up negatives. I am getting quite a totally body workout lifting Wil.;-)

Catherine, injured and still chinning...I'm impressed!

HB, I'm impressed and inspired as always. Keep us going. I hope to be back at it in the next couple of weeks.

Sooosan, take care of your shoulder. What are you doing moving downed limbs etc. if your shoulder's injured? Stop it! I'm glad to hear your house is intact.

Adri, I'm waiting to hear about how many pullups and chins you can do. Then, of course, I'll join Sooosan in not speaking to you.:+

I'm on the night shift for Wil tonight. How do I keep getting the night shift and only sleep in my bed by day? DH keeps tricking me somehow. Hmmmmmmmmmmm????

Waving to Briee:)

Hey Melody
LOL:+ :+ Ok I'll remember that. Sooosan and Melody don't talk to me no more;-) Tomorrow is Chest & back so when I do my pull-ups of lats I'll post!!

Take Care!!

Catherine, I agree that anything's better than nothing. It's so hard for us intense exercisers to lay off, isn't it? The main thing is not to be counter-productive and cause more damage.

I did PLB floorwork yesterday, followed by some light yoga and stretches that emphasized the UB. Today I did Imax2 Blast Mania, (which is such a great premix!) followed by the second half of Yoga X, omitting YB7 and crane. I did wheel with no problem and plow instead of shoulder stand, both of which surprisingly helped my upper back feel better. I'm still staying away from UB weight work and will do PLB tomorrow, using dumbbells. I'll hopefully feel better enough to start P90X next week.

Hope the rest of you have had a great Labor Day weekend! My oldest son was supposed to start high school tomorrow (going from a small preschool-8 private school to the public school), but it's closed due to numerous power outages in our area. The two younger ones (DS age 11 and DD age 6) go back to the private school for a two-hour convocation.

Hope Wil is doing better, Melody!
