Chin Ups R Good

Hi, long time no see.

I know I haven't talked with you all for a very long time. I should have peeked in more often. I'm sorry, I've been so darn busy. I'm writing a book (it is taking forever, a lot longer than I expected), have a huge garden to work in, have to clean the house sometimes, get dinner ready and workout. Jeesh! To much.

I'm worried about Melody. Why isn't she on the forum anymore? I've lost track, and missing familiar faces. It was her birthday the other day, and as far as I can tell, she hasn't read it.

I know that Cathe forums aren't the top priority in peoples lives all the time or everyday. Just concerned.

Hope you ladies are doing good. Health OK, are you chinning up a storm, improving? Sure do miss ya all. But I'll peek in more often if you don't mind, and nudge you all on.

Uh hum, Briee what do you mean no chins for 4 days?? Go to your bar and give me 10!! Rock wall climbing sounds like fun. I was at Dicks Sporting Goods the other day and they have a rock wall and wanted to try it. But alas, I am scared of heights LOL!!! I thought of Melody and her boys while at Dicks. I sure miss her!!

Joanne, the time is getting closer!! I am so excited to meet you and everyone else. Glad to hear you are still giving chins a go.

Janie, glad to see ya!! We miss ya. Sounds like you've been super busy. But sounds like fun work- at least I hope it is. Life is way to short to not ;)

Today was upper body. I am stuck on my bench. As a matter of fact I did less reps/set x( So I had to do more sets. I did incline db curls instead of concentration :eek: :eek: Talk about setting your biceps on fire!!

Bench 70# 1x4, 2x6, 1x5, 1x4
DB Row 42.5 (increase by 1.25#) 3x8
MP 55# (increase 5#) 2x5, 2x4, 1x3
Skull Crushers 16.25 (increase 1.25#) 2x5, 3x4
Incline DB Curls 16.25# 3x8

Will do chins on Wed with legs

Okay Catherine, you snot, chin this.....I did a chin at the top of the climbing wall...grabbed the wood and did one full pullup 50 ft in the air, no rope assist. Will that do???? Could possibly be the highest pullup in history - ha ha. Funny thing was...I was more scared to belay my dh up the wall than to actually CLIMB the wall. They told him to fall twice so I could feel what would happen if a camper falls and how to do a rope hold with the Gri Gri (the thingy attached to me that the rope runs through). So my dh takes a fall and I lifted up 5 feet in the air (he is about twice my weight) and my back up belayer was holding my tail rope to keep me down. Now they claim that I would not have gone far and my dh would have stopped even without the backup...hmmmmmm. One can only hope!!:) :) :) :) :) Had a blast - can't wait to help out. I WOULD POST PIX IF I COULD FIGURE OUT THE PICTURE TRAIL. If any of you really want any...I know how to email pix!

I need to go down and workout now...I'm draggin though. You guys are great motivators!!! Keep up the great work.

I no longer consider myself a lower body weenie :p Followed set up of S&H except used my own tempo:

Squats: 60# 3x8
Lunges: 55# 2x8 (not sure why Cathe only does 2 sets of lunges)
RDLs: 65# 3x8
Calf raises: 25# 2x25

I also did 12 chinups total. No repeat of my set of 6. Almost got it last night-did 5 1/2 on 1st set. I do feel stronger though. I did abs from S&H C&T. I've done abs three times this week- woo hoo!!!

My plan is to do heavy upper body once a week, light- med wt upper body once a week, heavy legs once a week, light legs once a week and three cardios. Oh and abs thrown in there.

Just did CTX upper body. Oh my!! Hadn't done this one in a loooooooong time. Don't remember it being so hard. Lighter wts sure felt good at first. Then the lactic acid burn kicks in. I figured out that's why I don't like enduranced based workouts LOL!! I hate that lactic acid burn!! Legs are also feeling a bit like lead from last nights workout.

How's everyone doing?

I wonder if Soooooooooooosan's friend is still working out with her?

OK, someone else needs to check in here. I am starting to feel like I am checking in with myself again LOL!! I did SB this morning- but skipped the blast and did SP&J abs and planks. Wow, Briee, can you believe all this ab work I am doing. Someone check to see if I have a fever or something!! I have some pretty good DOMS from CTX upper body yesterday. Biceps are sore and they rarely get sore. I think I am gonna have to give myself a recovery week here real soon. Been working pretty hard for almost 2 months. But it's been fun!!

Summer "busy-ness" is setting in. I did Power Yoga this morning and have the boat loaded up to leave for waterskiing this afternoon with friends - but it just started raining. I think we're going anyway - it'll stop right!!!;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

My biceps are sore from who knows what. I did shoulders two days ago and then some chest presses last night and a few chins - don't know why my bi's hurt....hmmmm. I'm counting on sore legs after skiing as I have been severely lacking in leg work!

Joanne...what ya up to? Hey...I saw that Melody's back...she's back, she's back, she's back!!!! (smiley happy guy jumping around like two year old). Hope she stops in.

Soosan??????? It's okay...Catherine and I will keep this thing goin until all return!!

I forgot to add Catherine...I love your workout plan. Sounds like a winner. I'm thinking of doing something similar with legs - they are severely lacking...I could really tell when I did yoga today and could barely stay in the lunge position %$#$$#^$%^% - ouch....I'm such a wimp.

Hey Briee, water skiing sounds like great fun!!! I wonder what got your biceps sore. Chest presses don't work the biceps much. Maybe the shoulder work and pullups?? Odd though?? I am having lunch with 2 DFs that I used to work with. Well, really dinner.

I do like my workout plan and am seeing some definition in the upper body and hope to notice so changes in the lower body too. Abs- eh, I doubt I'll ever have buff abs. I have the 2 verticle lines but not the horizontal ones. Too much fat or loose skin, I can not figure out which.

Also wonders what Joanne is up to these days!!!
