Chin-Up Check-In Wed 4.12

X....thanks so much for all the wonderful donuts. I'll send you a video of me eating them if my ds ever gets it going. I'll check out that meltdown thread. Is that where everyone tries to eat all the icecream before it melts down? I'm just not into icecream so I'll continue on here and eat donuts!

Now Sooooooooooooosan...I don't think you could ever pull me out of my Yoga slump. Try as I did...I'm just not a yoga-girl. I know it's wonderful and I always felt great afterwards, but I don't have the "patience - peace" level it takes I guess.

I have LOVED hearing Catherine say...get down there and work Briee - there are times when you need this BADLY!

I have a confession to make (guilty face). I didn't do my workout tonight :-( Just really tired and today would have been 6 days straight of working out. The problem is I don't know when I'm gonna make it up. Friday starts early with breakfast with DH and another couple and then we're going to Keenland (horse racing) will be there all day. Good chance I may have to wait till Sat to make up!

I did however do 2.5 chinups. Must strengthen my gripx( !!

Hey Catherine, sometimes you just have to rest. However, I did GS legs today and LOVED it, but may not love it tomorrow.

Guess what, DH just sold our weight machine that I do...ah hum...chinups on. OH NO!!!! Do not panic, DH is purchasing a smith machine this weekend and it has a bar on it for pullups, lucky me.
I'll bet he even gets it here in time for my Saturday back workout.

The elbow feels great now!!!! Ready to go.
 
Catherine, you probably did your body a service by resting today; it obviously needed it. I wouldn't stress about tomorrow either - you'll have a great time at the races. On Saturday you'll be raring to go and will probably do 3 chin-ups! Just pick up where you left off.

I won't be working out Saturday or Sunday because of Easter, so I did MM today rather than a split routine and will probably do 1/2 Imax and some yoga tomorrow - just to get it all in.

Regarding your grip: my bar came with velcro pads that I can put where I want (you know, to avoid squishing the donuts). Do you have pads?
 
Melody, glad to hear your elbow's better and that your DH will have some kind of bar ready and waiting for you on Saturday.

My left rhomboid is still hurting so I probably won't do chin-ups until Monday. I did a bit of back work today in MM and it felt a little uncomfortable, but not too bad, so I kept at it.

Melody, thanks for your words. Glad you are liking the gym styles. I have to say I'm jealous you're getting a new piece of equip!!!! Glad your elbow is better.

Soooooooooooosan, thanks, I need to hear it's ok to rest. We will hopefully come home from the races with $$$$$. I live in KY ya know thoroughbred racing is huge! Thanks for your encouragement- I feel 3 coming on!!!! BTW my bar is padded. Just wait, you'll see what I'm talking about soon. It's frustrating to lose your grip when you feel like you could do more x( . But I know it will come!!!

Hey guys, it's 10:34 pm and I'm headed down to work out, but NO upper body. Tomorrow is chinup day. I'm getting used to these late night workouts and I've actually had more energy lately. Honestly I think it's the ONLY time this home is quiet and nobody interupts me with 2 billion things!! I'm sore from yesterday in my upper back and my shoulders hurt a little, but I think it is more from the new Turbo Jam workout that I did and threw myself into Kick, Punch and Jam - fun fun fun, but SORE. See ya tomorrow for the big Friday checkin!
