Hello Chinsters! I'm going to do some assisted reps at the Y today. Other than that, I might do some yoga if I have the time. I'm focusing on circuits this week and next in order to be time efficient.

Soooooooooooosan, I wanted to tell you that I ordered Power Yoga 4 Happiness. Should get it this week. It's been about a month since I've done P90X YogaX and I just cannot make myself do itx( Oh, and what a cute story with your daughters recital. A wonderful memory for all involved:D

Hey chinny chicks. This is a bright and sunny (but cold) WI morning. We had an "end of the year" Tae Kwon Do picnic on Friday night that went well for all(at our home). Kids had a blast and we had a fun round of capture the flag at the end. Went horseback riding on Sunday for 4 hours on the "new" horse. She did well, even on the extreme riding areas (almost sliding downhill in some spots). I'm still pretty new to horses so this was an "experience" for me.

I felt NO soreness after GS BSB and all the chins. My body must be adapting. I'm trying to keep up with the GS's this week - my goal at least. Did walking lunges on Saturday too - backwards and forewards. I tend to neglect my legs, but am trying to make a truer effort.

Catherine....tell me again why you ordered Power Yoga 4 Happiness? True happiness does not come from Yoga :p :p :p (trying to insert a smiley guy ROTFLOL all tangled up in a yoga position and throwing up at the same time - this in reference to my earlier yoga attempts). To be quite honest....I like the title of Soosan's power turbo flow something or other DVD. I am a yoga failure (there is a whole thread documenting this). Soosan has tried to enlighten me, but it hasn't quite worked. May you be blessed in your efforts!!:7 :7 (I mean that!!)

Today, I am going to do Muscle Max and work in some assisted reps. My muscles should be good and rested as the only exercise I did on vacation was walking (Niagara Falls is beautiful).

Shortly I'll be attemping PUB and core work, but due to my hand I am not certain about any negatives today.

Back to quickly report and say hi to Melody (hope things get better!) and all the rest of you buff chinsters!

Did 3 sets (6, 4, 3 reps ea) on the chin-up assist machine. Used 30 lbs with all 3 sets and all sets were to failure. I'm going to do more on Wednesday. No workout today (busy, busy, busy at work!), but I'm about to do KPC abs since abs weren't included in yesterday's circuit workout. I love KPC ads because it's short but effective.
 
Briee, I know that true happiness doesn't come from Yoga- It comes from doing 4 chinups in a row which I haven't been able to do yet :+ :+ I really liked what yogax did for me and wanted some variety plus something shorter. I am not very flexible at all and yoga has helped.

Today is a rest day for me. I will be doing chinups tomorrow along with leg work- not exactly sure which one.

Joanne, it's back to the grindstone for you missy!! How dare you take a vacation :p :p Sounds like you had fun- I am just jealous.

Soooooooooooosan, keep at those negatives and assisted ones girl. Oh and I got my PY4H today and previewed some. WOW!!! A few of those poses are mind blowing. My husband anticipates an ER visit after I break my neck trying some of those LOL.

Melody, sorry to hear you are having hard times. I hope it gets better for ya. Keep away from sharp objects!!

Hi, I made it through PUB and abs AND I bandaged my hand, put on my weight gloves, grabbed that bar and did 2 sets of negatives. I held each at the top for a count of 5 and did a slow 10 count down with each. Then 2 sets of 10 reps overhand wide-grip inverted rows. My hand is sore and I didn't push more than that, but those were actually easy. I thought after being sick for a week I'd just drop like lead on the negatives. I could have done more if not for the sore hand.

Oh oh, I grabbed the bar underhand chinup grip and hung, then decided to try and pull up, I actually pulled up MAYBE 1/10th of way. Hey, before I did not move AT ALL!

I really expected to be weak, but I suppose rest is good. Just to let you gals know, if not for the fact of checking in here, I would NOT have even attempted those negatives at all today - the hand would have been too good an excuse!

Thanks Sooosan and Catherine for the healing wishes. Kids are better and things are looking up this evening.

Briee, I'm soooooo glad you had a donut, even though it it was whole wheat.:7

Joanne, glad to see you back, although I know you'd rather still be on vacation.

Hello Everyone,

I'm back from the ocean, and it was soooo beautiful.

I did a lot of cardio on the beach, and I took a band to do weight training. There wasn't a place for me to do chin ups, so I might have to start over again for whatever gains I made. Won't know until Thursday, when I'm scheduled for them. But that's OK, my goodness, It was great fun and worth it. I ate clean and was a good girl. So excited to get back into a routine.

I've been reading the past posts, and you all seem to be just working so hard. Congratulations! And some are having difficulties with life presentations. Hang in there, it will pass. You all inspire me, and I'm sure others are inspired as well.

Janie, glad you had a good time on vacation. I am impressed that you ate clean. I barely need an excuse to cheat. Although I do find that I like more healthy foods than bad.

Today was chinup day. Better than Saturday but not where I was, but I'll take it. I did 3 sets of 2(actually the first one was 2.5)and then 4 sets of one. 2 sets of 5 negative chins, 1 set of 5 wide front negs and one set of 3 close grip pull ups.

I got a nice compliment today from a lady who wanted to know how I stay so fit and tone. Of course I told her donuts on a chinup bar :p :p :p (that's for you Briee baby!) I described hard work and clean eating and for once she was interested. So I gave her the website to check us out.

Anyone else doing chinups today???

Catherine....LOL (donuts on the chin bar :7 ). Congrats on your compliment, that is SO nice to have someone notice your hard work! Great job on your chins!!.

Hey Janie... glad you had a wonderful time at the ocean. Wish I wasn't so far from one - I LOVE water and esp. oceans. All that sand walking IS great cardio. ie..two steps forward, one step back;) ;)

I did GS legs yesterday with coremax I. (thought of you Catherine!!). No I didn't enjoy it!!

I am about to go down and do some type of upperbody workout, possibly GS chest and tri's. Gotta get psyched up for that one. I will probably attempt some chins. Maybe even throw in a Turbo Jam for fun.

I planted the garden today. I love to do this. It's the weeding I hate. I told the lady at the nursery I need tomatoe plants that are tall enough to stick up over the weeds - she didn't smile. No sense of humor (of course this was no joke). She probably doesn't even do chins:p :p .

Melody...I've been thinking of you. Is life resolving itself? My life shall be in an altered state soon enough. My mom moves into the addition in ONE WEEK. I just don't think about it, but pray it all goes well!! I'm praying yours is working out and you are feeling better soon!!

Soosan, almost forgot. GREAT job on your assisted chins. I think you are VERY wise to do it this way. Gotta do what works for ya. Is it embarrassing trying to attach donuts to your machine at the Y? I'm sure you are much too self confident to be bothered by envious onlookers;) ;) ;) .

Briee (they'll probably be lining up to do chins after they observe this method!!)

BTW, all was well when we tucked the boys in tonight and I managed to get my cardio in earlier. So I'm of the mindset tomorrow will be a beautiful day.
