Cathlete
Morning, everyone! :)

Will run this AM and hit Leaner Legs in the afternoon after I tutor. Am trying the split thing just to do something different.

Wendy :: DM is a doozy in its entirety...great job jumping right back into the fire after vacay!...We wound up not sitting by the pool as originally planned but ordered some Chinese and hung out inside. Yesterday's weather wasn't the greatest - overcast but still muggy as all get-out.

RTers: for dinner Thursday night, here are some options near your hotel (in no particular order):

Outback
Bonefish Grill http://www.bonefishgrill.com/index_flash.asp
Pizzeria Uno (this is right next to your hotel)
Applebee's
Don Pablo's
Chili's
99 http://www.99restaurants.com/
Filomena's http://www.filomenalakeview.com/lakeview/ (this is a local Italian restaurant right next to the walking/running trail)
Red Lobster
Olive Garden
Salad Works
Pizza Hut
Friendly's

Good morning, Cheetahs!

Cathy - How's the rotation going? I'm really liking it!!

Today is another horribly muggy and humid day, YUCK x( I stuck my head outside and couldn't even breathe!! x(

I haven't even looked at what I'm going to do for a workout now that my 'office' is downstairs and the computer up here, I never look until I go down to actually workout. I'm going to wait until after work today, I need to get a good start on work today - we are going through our annual audit and I have a lot of work to do there and want to get in early and get it done.

I was wondering, since a lot of us drink - do any of you put anything in it or is it just black?

Have a great day, I'll be back later. I need to go read past posts and catch up.
Marcia.

Morning Girls.

Cathy: I hope you are planning an EARLY run today! I was watching the news when I woke up and they were talking about a high heat index and high humidity. ICK!

Marcia: I take my coffee with fat free half and half and splenda. Funny, you forgot to include the word "COFFEE" in your original post so it just says "I was wondering, since a lot of us drink..." LOL

So I am feeling some DOMS in my butt, hips and inner thighs from DM y'day. }( Today is a TM run. An ITrain no doubt. ;)

BBL!:)

OMG - I can't believe I forgot the word COFFEE! Thanks for correctly that, Wendy, that looks absolutely hilarious! :7 :7 Must be the bar owner in me that stops after the word drinking. :p I'll be laughing about that all morning (my world is sheltered, huh ;-) )

Too funny.............still............. :*

Marcia.

LOL Marica...you have a point about the fact that you own a bar! You must eat, sleep and drink...well....DRINKS! LOL :7

Have a great day!

I DO!! And, isn't that just plain WRONG!!!! ;-) :) ;-) :) It's funny how that has taken over my brain more often than it should, but I guess having had the business for 12 years you kind of get to the point of not knowing anything else. ;-) You should see me during the day at work at the school, people will say things and I automatically think drinking or something to do with the bar scene and they aren't even on that same track AT ALL. I've embarrassed myself more than I would admit on that stuff.

Marcia. :*

Marcia, I'm sure it could happen to anyone whose been in a particular business for that many years! It's okay, no need to be embarrassed!:p

Good morning ladies! Another hot one here today too. It should be 95 with the heat index over 100. I'll be glad when summer is over. I love fall, most of winter, and spring so much better. I'd much rather add layers of clothes on if I'm too cold. Strange, I know.

Well, yesterday did not go as planned. I slacked during lunch, thinking that I would do C&B and ARX in after the kids went to bed. Of course that did not happen. We had some friends who live in FL unexpectedly stop by. They are in town visiting family. They showed up right at bedtime for the kids, 8:30, and they didn't leave until a little after 10. It was really nice to see them and their new 12 week old DD. My DS & DD had a rough time getting up this morning though because I couldn't put them to bed while our friends were here.

Today's workout, I think, will be C&B and ARX. I think that next week I will be starting over with my P90X classic rotation. I hate missing days especially so early in the rotation. Besides it will give me a weekend to stock the house up with good food and get rid of the junk.

How many cheetahs are going on the RT? I would have loved to been able to go. Share lots of pics with us, will ya?

I'll try to be back later. Waves to all cheetahs!

Marcia & Wendy :: I noticed that, too, about the drinks and got a chuckle. Heck, I was disappointed we were only talkin' bout coffee!! Ha ha :)

Marcia :: I drink coffee only occasionally, but when I do, I drink it black...Glad you like the rotation...I absolutely love this one (well, I must since I'm doing it twice, and tell you the truth, I might go for a third round after this). I did slack on Sunday (don't know if you were around to catch that post) but made up for it yesterday, so all's cool and I'm back on track. Eating, though, is admittedly less than stellar. How are you doin' with that aspect of it?

Wendy :: it is grisly out there...and tomorrow's supposed to be even worse! LL is always good for DOMS - I'm sure I'll be feelin' it!

OK, run done - now I'm off to get cleaned up.

ETA: Kristi...posting at the same time...I hear you on the humidity...heat index here is the same: 100-106! Insane. I do love summer, but not this kind of humidity...I think those of us going on the RT are Susan, Shelly, Carole, and Gayle. Wendy and I are "crashing." (Not really but we will have a chance to hang out w/ some of the cheetahs during down time.) It's annoying sometimes when your w/out plans get thrown aside, but it happens sometimes, and I say it's good to spend time with friends. Workouts have priority, no doubt, but they shouldn't supercede relationships. Sometimes I find myself wanting to turn down invites b/c of workouts, and then I remind myself that that's a little TOO obsessive.

Good Marcia! It is funny. I don't like coffee (sacrilegious I know). However, give me a Starbuck's white chocolate mocha and I'm a happy girl. That is the only coffee I will drink. Is it really coffee?:) :)

Good morning all! It's been insanely busy at work but has slowed down enough now to get in a post for the day. It'll sure be nice to get away from this for a few days!!!

Cathy- Absolutely I'm sure, at least for me that it is not necessary for you to take us to the airport on Sunday. And I'm sure Carole and Susan would agree. There will be all sorts of people leaving at that time so I'm sure the Rapid Rover shuttles will be available. Don't worry about our am run. Carole and I will work something out!
Wow, that's quite a choice of restaurants. I'm pretty much bewildered and befuddled by it and since I will eat pretty much anything since you are the honored driver I think the choice should be yours.

Wendy- Sounds like a superb day for an indoor run!!! Have you started your official half marathon training regimen yet?

Marcia- Good luck with your audit today. Sounds like you'll be mega busy. I enjoyed the "coffee Confusion" this morning :p BTW, I like my coffee HOT and BLACK!!! It's the only decent way to drink coffee IMHO. Being a night shift worker I live on the stuff.

Kristi- Hope you have time for your workout today! I'll have my notebook computer with me and it has a digi photo card slot so we can share pics even while we're there!!

Time to get moving.. I'll be doing an interval run when I get home today.

ShellyC

Shelly :: sounds like the RT will be a welcome break from the insanity for you! Outside of being busy, are things running smoothly?

RTers: here's another idea...I thought I remembered hearing somewhere that one of Cathe's crew owned a restaurant somewhere around here, so I thought it might be cool if we support her with our business. I googled and wound up on an old bio page of some kind. Anyway, I'm not sure if Jai and her husband still own this place, but it is also not far from the hotel - maybe 10 minutes. What do you think? Carole, I know you are vegetarian...is there anything on this menu for you? http://pelicanfishco.com/

Through my surfing, I also found out that Lorraine is a PT. I wonder if she is local. Her bio from last year's blog said she runs an outdoor bootcamp. That would be cool!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...the donkeys were funny, but cute! How was the pool yesterday? Enjoy your split workout today, I try for those on my days off. Wow! Lot's of restaurants around. I did check out the one you listed that could be Jai's. I am sure something on that menu would work for me if you all want to go there...:)...I bet Lorraine's BC would be tough! Also I agree with Shelly about the sunday thing.

Wendy..yes, I did the DM premix of cardio and upper body circuit style. OMG...some of those intervals are tough!! I know the Picture trail thing is just weird, but I like the site so I guess I'll keep paying.

Marcia...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/eng/lol5.gif[/img] at the 'drinking" comment! I drink mine strong and black...:)

Jackie...My Garmin does track every mile. Glad you made it to target! I also found some great deals at another discount store we have called Shopko, so I have some new stuff for the RT! I know my other holier stuff would have been a bit embarrassing. yes, that Polar site is quite cool. Sounds like a good workout yesterday, I have not done any Firms in awhile.

Shelly...that is cool your notebook PC has a card slot. I will be happy to help you any way I can. I have never used a Notebook PC only Desktops so it'll be fun learning for me! Tough workout yesterday..:)..I am sure we will work out a run friday. I saw your post on the RT forum, no takers, darn!...enjoy your interval run.

Sunny...sorry about the PC problems! Hope you can get it fixed soon.

Kristi...sorry about the run Saturday. I am sure things are hectic when the little ones are not sleeping. Hope you can get in your P90X workout. I am sure you will see lots of RT pics!!

I am doing BM2 without the upper body, I will do that tomorrow. Also some abs.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning Cheetahs!

Well today I did not do Kick Max, but I did run for 1 hour! I keep putting off Kick Max for some reason (maybe cause I know it will kick my butt!) but I will get to it! :)

When I run for 1 hour, I am not sure how many miles I put in. I do not have a tracking system. I would say 4 miles??? That is good for me! It is a slow run.

Cathy - I was getting hungry when you were mentioning all those restaurants! You Road Trippers will have plenty of yummy choices! Tutoring is a great summer job! Getting paid under the table is the way to go! Good for you! Have a great workout today too!

Wendy - Are you getting your Resume together for any PT jobs yet? Have fun!

Marcia - Not too sure if I missed this - but do you own that bar, or just bartend in it? You must have some fun there! I love coffee and make my Dunkin Donuts coffee every AM at home. I drink 2 cups. I drink it with skim milk and no sugar! Most people may say gross to that but I love it! Drinking it now!

My favorite is drinking my coffee while enjoying this forum every AM.

Carole - have a great workout today - and do some extra abs for me! That is one area I have to get back to!

Shelly and Carole - Hope you can get a nice run in on Friday together!

Jackie - I know you have mentioned the Firm - I have never done a Firm workout before but read that many started the Firm before getting into Cathe. They must be great workouts!

Kristi - I hope the kids will sleep better for you!

Hello to all other Cheetahs, and have a great day everyone!

Take care,
Amy

Good morning ladies!

Shelly - Packing for the RT was a nice alternate workout. You ladies are going to have so much fun. It won't be long now. Have a great run!

Sunny - Sorry for the computer problems. Hope you're not without for too long. What did you think about the free iSculpt that we got for August?

Amy - Agree that Hawaii is beautiful. It's been a few years since I was there but I enjoyed it for a week and after that I was ready to come home. My trip was 9 days. Great job on the run. Kick Max as a whole is not one of my favorite. I like the premixes much better. Firm workouts were great to get started with but I have outgrown a lot of them. I will use them for easier days sometimes or as just add ons.

Wendy - Great job on getting through DM! It's a toughie. I've always paid for Picture Trail too after the initial trial period. Good luck with getting that resume out there. Have a good run.

Cathy - It was too hot to even lay out by the pool yesterday. Inside sounds so much better. Glad you survived your run today! It's almost too hot to get out there no matter what time it is.

Marcia - Drink? :) I'm not a coffee drinker but may take a cup of decaf every now and then. I add lots of cream to dilute the taste some and splenda. Guess I'm defeating the purpose.

Kristi - I'm the opposite, I like spring, summer and fall. I can take off enough to be cool but can't put on enough layers to stay warm. I'm strange too. :) Hope you can get a workout in today.

Carole - Glad you found some nice workout gear for the RT. You gotta look cute, right? LOL!! Enjoy your workout today. I like Picture Trail too. It didn't have near the problems as some of the other sites I tried when I first started posting pics.

Today's workout was iTread #5 - 40 minutes. I got in 3.3 miles in 35 minutes. I did 15 minutes on the elliptical and a 20 minute stretch.

Have a terrific day! I'm having computer issues here at work. Hope this post goes through because I hate losing posts.

Jackie

Thanks Jackie!

Yes I do agree with what you said about Hawaii. My personal feelings are that everyone should experience it just once in their lifetime if they get the chance. But after 13 days I was very ready to come home too.

Being away from home that long is hard. Also the food out there is way too pricey and we were running out of money! :)

Have a great one!
Amy

Good morning ladies,
I can't believe how COLD it is here. It only got up 75 here yesterday and today it will only be in the high 60's, very strange for this time of year:)

I did PUB last night and wow, I am feeling it this morning. It is those dang overhead tricep press with the 20lber that gets me.

Today, I am going to do the step portion of the original body max and maybe a little kickboxing. I am trying to take it easy this week to rest up for the torture sessions}(

CAthy, I am fine wherever we go to dinner. I will eat anything and love it!!! I also agree that it is not necessary to take us to the airport on Sunday. You are so nice for offering though:)

Roadtrippers, what are you all doing after the workout on Friday morning. Any thoughts? Or, do we just hang out and chit chat?

I am off to fix breakfast for the bickersons(LOL)!!!!

I will check back later.

Susan

Hey Folks!

ITread 3/40 minutes is done. I modified it a bit to make it better for my HM training though. I did a 6 min run/1 min walk pattern through out so I just walked no matter where I was in the work out and when the minute was up and jumped right back in at whatever spot I was at. I also kept my speed slower then usual since I am not training for speed right now.

It feels so good to have my work out behind me early. I wish I could get up and do that all of the time but getting up THAT early to exercise before work just doesn't happen for me! :-(

Kristi: I hate the extreme hot as well as extreme cold but I agree...you can layer almost endlessly but you can only strip down so far until either a) you are naked or b) you will get arrested if you take off one more ioda of clothing! LOL :p Glad you had a nice visit with your friends. A 12 week old baby? How cute!

Cathy: Worse weather tomorrow!?!?! x( x( x( I love spring and fall! Winter and summer stink, I swear! LOL about being dissapointed that we were only talking about coffee. Do you even drink coffee? I don't recall.

Shelly: Yes, yesterday I began on my official HM training schedule. I'm askeered! Have a great run later! Any races in the near future for you?

Carole: Nice way to split up BM2. Enjoy it. Picture Trail is a nice site. Photobucket isn't as nice but it's free so I'm good to go!:p I can't believe I am going to get to meet you on Saturday! I am so excited to meet you and ALL of the Cheetahs as well as others from the forums!:7

Amy: Do you have any plans to purchase a garmin soon? Before I bought my Garmin I would pre-plan my route so I knew how many miles it was. Running w/o knowing my mileage drives me crazy! LOL Have you ever tried www.mapmyroute.com? I haven't started creating my resume yet. I am still focusing on getting back to reality after vacation. I will get serious next week!

Jackie: Losing posts stinks! It doesn't happen to me often but it's so frustrating when it does. Nice work out today.

Susan: The Bickersons? Very funny!:7 It's funny to listen to you Cali girls talk about the 60's and 70's being COLD! Being from Jersey, I find those temps to be extremely comfortable!:)

Okay, I'm sleepy and have the time, so I am going to catch a quick nap now....BBL! :*

Hi Running friends-

This is not the best week around our place. A friend of ours just passed away form breast cancer much too soon. Nobody was expecting it so soon.

DD age 16 is really

"testing" us this summer. Right now I have zero trust in her. I just canceled a facial appointment for her and have taken away her phone and access to a computer. And she had tickets for a concert tomorrow night that she will now have to forgo. She did it to herself. And I've had enough. Thanks for letting me vent.

Yesterday was a planned 9 mile run, but I finished at 8.3 miles. I'm headed down stairs now to do some kind of upper body and cardio or a circuit. I'll check out some premixes. Ordinarily I work out first thing in the morning, but it did not work out that way.

I hope you all have a great time on the road trip!!!! I'll think of you. We are celebrating my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary with a party Saturday, and a brunch on Sunday morning here.

PS I have used mapmyroute.com many times. I also have recently been using a Garmin 305 and really enjoy the feedback during the run.

Wendy- congratulation on passing your PT certification!

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

Hey Judy!

Nice to see you popping in on us! Your presence here is always welcome and a pleasant surprise as we know how busy you are.
I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your friend. It stinks when someone dies but it's even worse when it's too soon or too young. I am also sorry your DD is causing you grief. I guess she's at that age now. I hope she straightens up quickly. Sounds like you aren't taking any cr@p from her and that's good. Hopefully she'll realize it's not worth it to do whatever she's been doing. (((HUGS))) Nice run y'day. Hope you are successful in getting in today's work out.
Thanks re the exam. I will be getting my cpr cert and putting together my resume over the next couple of weeks. I was going to mail it out to the area gyms but DH suggested posting it online first at hotjob, monsterjobs etc. It's a good idea. If I don't get any bites that way I can always revert back to my original plan as a back up.

Hope to see you around here again soon! :)
