::: CHEETAHS ::: Thursday

i am sure bbc is not light. i meant that i was thinking that i would basically preview the workouts and try to do it without weights just to do SOMETHING. at any rate, not going to happen today!

i am excited that i am feeling much better than yesterday. i think the meds are kicking in and i hope to be back at work tomorrow (i can't believe i am saying that but i am SO BORED!!!).

i am thrilled that i am going to get to meet some cheetahs in "real life." it will make an already special occasion that much more special.

glad you guys got a kick out of the dreaded thread. isn't it crazy?!?!

Quick question - I did not get my long run in last week. It was to be the 10 miler (I managed 6 as I had been sick). My race is on the 14th (not this Sunday but the next). Should I do a 10 miler to make up for the one I did not do last week, or should I do perhap a 6-7 miler or shorter and know that I ran it before, I'll probably be fine running it again and start tapering?

Afternoon, cheetahs!!

Wendy :: *lol* about the hair…I wound up not blowing it out ~ too humid. But I *did* leave it down – that's right, no ponytail! I don’t think my kids recognized me. *lol*...You BEAST, you! Whatta workout!!! Hey, if you're hobblin' around AC, you can always get one of those guys to push you around in a jitney! ETA: I just PM'd you.

Judy :: sorry about the car trouble…I completely agree with your rule of thumb on homework. It should always be valuable and necessary, not just busy work. But unfortunately, I know some colleagues who believe they are holding kids to higher expectations if they send ‘em home with mountains of work every night.

Wendi :: yes, that was a bizarre thread…there were a few this summer that were kinda “out there”…I wouldn’t be embarrassed about not working out…I think it’s great that you’ve been such a trooper all this time, doing what you can to work through the injury…With a job as active as yours, I can’t imagine it’s been easy! And don’t stress too much ~ I’m sure you’ll bounce back and get that scale back where you want it. The important thing for now is to give yourself the chance to fully heal…It’s been quite warm and humid here, too. Which part of the country are you in?

Shelly :: Glad things have been mellow…*lol* about Maddie talking trash…I’m sure you’ll give that horse a good lesson not to fool with a cheetah! :) …Yeah, it’d be nice just to know a little more after going through all those different appointments, tests, and insurance hoops…I’m SO jealous of the LV GTG. Is anyone else on board still?

Carole :: hey, I may give those exercises a go. Did that involve the golf ball or no? I wore more foot-friendly shoes today and that helped. And on Fridays, I can wear sneakers. AMEN!…Oh yeah, I was feelin’ good again in the morning—thanks! I know you all know how it is when you get out there and suddenly something hits you. Wasn’t the greatest run, but I plowed through. I noticed my training runs are getting just a hair faster. So I’m graduating from http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_turtle.gif speed to http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_snail.gif . *lol* I have not tried Power Circuits on CTX…I really need to explore more of that DVD set! Hope you enjoyed your w/out!

Lorie :: oh yeah, there were some strange goings-on for awhile there! *lol* Sorry you had another rough night last night.

Susan :: you’re too funny about the dentist. Hope it went well…I am really pumped about having this tooth whitening procedure in a couple of weeks…So sorry to hear you’re getting pounded with homework. Maybe ask the teacher how s/he would feel if the principal MANDATED that she do hour-long assignments every single night. My guess is that she would come to hate her job.

Christine :: http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_LOL.gif Conehead the Australian??? *lol* I didn’t think anything could top Linus’ tinfoil hat, but the cone just might do it. What an expression!…So what’s DH up to that warrants a clobbering with the hammer?…Re: your training, I would probably shoot for 9-10.

OK, gonna kick back for a few and then do some k'boxing and ab work.

Good evening ladies!

You know there's something seriously wrong with you when you get to the grocery store, see that cranberries have finally arrived, and it's all you can do to refrain from doing air jacks to celebrate LOL! I am, indeed, a truly pathetic person...those cranberries made my night. I *LOVE* fresh cranberry sauce made with orange juice and apples...YUMMY!!! Can you tell I love my food :p?

Those cranberries were the highlight of my day. I only made it through two ponies before I had to stop, with meds mind you x(. Thank goodness I could use the heat as an excuse to the clients for why their horses didn't get done today.

Carole - Sorry the lysine doesn't work for you. I'm glad the Famvir works the trick for you. Yikes, that's quite the mish-mosh you have there. That should make for some good DOMS tomorrow!

Lorie - How exciting your trip to LV will be...wedding and a cheetah gtg! I hope you have a fantastic time. Get well, though, will ya?!?! Make that two vic's today...I HATE taking ANY medication, especially for pain!

Susan - ITA, that amount of homework is absolutely ridiculous for kids that young! So glad to hear that your hip is healing.

Wendy - Ah, no, you won't be able to walk tomorrow, girl! Have fun in A/C! Thanks for the well-wishes. Now, go and PACK!

Christine - It's too bad you don't have a pic of Jimmy sleeping with the cone resting on the ground...too funny!!! That thread certainly was something else! Thanks for the pep talk. I *logically* know that one day won't make too much difference in the grand scheme of things. I get more disappointed with the fact that I have a hard time breaking the cycle. It's funny that you mention confusing your body because I could swear that I've seen that, as well.

I've got to run (not literally, I'm afraid). I have a bit of cleanmax to get through before we head to the bowling alley.

Good night!

Hi Cathy! We were posting at the same time. I'm in Orange County, NY. Where are you? The horses were not amused with the weather today, I'll tell you that! Thank you for the kind words...you're such a sweetie. See you in the morning. I may still shoot for Low Max, we'll see.

Lorie- I am glad to read you are on the mend! And I want to congratulate you on your upcoming nuptials. DH and I were just in Las Vegas last month. We really like visiting LV.

I wanted to mention to the Cheetah group that 4 of my friends are doing the Breast Cancer two day WALK this weekend in New York City. The distance is 26.2 miles the first day and 13 miles the second day. (I really wanted to be with them, but I have to be around for my kids. DH and I have to split most weekends because our son travels often for hockey and we don't make our 16 yoDD go to every away weekend. We also won't leave her home alone.) Any way think of them (and those also doing the 3 day walk in Philli this weekend) I really hope it all goes well. This is really new territory for my friends.

Wendi :: *lol* about airjacking for the cranberries...I'll tell you, I just go crazy for CRAISINS...OMG, I love adding them to a salad. Yum, yum!...I am south of you in NJ. I love the sunshine, but I hope we go back to cooler temps!

OK, my workout is done...I did KPC/L&G #14, incl. the abs. Love that premix! Sweated so hard, I slipped right off the ball with that last pike. *lol*

Have a GREAT night, cheetahs! :7
