Cathy: I HAVE heard of this program. When I taught m.s. I had a student who went to Australia with that organization. How exciting! Sheep wrangling? I read a young adult book called The Loner by Ester Wier about sheep wrangling. That is not an easy job! It is an adventure/survival story. Probably one of my favorite books. It is so old I think it's out of print. We read it last year in guided reading and the kids LOVED it! I just happened to come across it in the Title 1 closet. Sounds like you will be doing some really cool things! Congratulations on the assignment! How will you communicate with kids all over the U.S. once a month?

Hi Girls.

DH and I are back from a long afternoon of shopping/errands. I picked up new running shoes...one hundred and twenty some odd dollars later....jeesh! They are expensive! :eek: The ones I've been using I've always gotten for about $85.00 which I didn't think was too bad. Oh well, they'll last me a while. I don't replace 'em until they are a year old or I start FEELING them...which ever comes first. I ended up buying a more supportive style of Mizunos. I felt better sticking with the same brand since they worked for me up until now. This leads me to a question I have.....

I had planned on my final 15 miler tomorrow. Bearing in mind that I have brandy-new shoes to break in AND that the race is just 2 weeks away, do I....

A) Strap on the new kicks for tomorrow's long run and take the chance of blisters or whatever else may occur with new shoes the first time out.
B) Run shorter distances for a couple of days to break in the new kicks first and run long on Wednesday instead.
C) Remove this 2nd 15 miler from my training plan all together and plan on a 10 miler for the near future instead.
D) Insert your own idea here!;)

I apologize but I don't have time for personals right now. Perhaps I can get back here in a little bit but DH and I are planning on heading out for the evening (probably dancing) and I still have to work out. I obviously nixxed my run today because of the rain but I want to do an upper body work out and abs before we go out tonight so I need to get on that. Thinking of an HSTA premix and then I'll have to add on abs from another work out.
