::: CHEETAHS ::: Sunday

Good Morning Cathy and all who follow.http://www.infohub.com/forums/images/smilies/wink3.gif

I have no idea what I am doing today as far as working out. I am soooo confused.http://www.infohub.com/forums/images/smilies/girl_sigh.gif LOL When I eventually figure it out, I'll let y'all know.http://www.infohub.com/forums/images/smilies/laughing.gif

I think I succeeded in giving myself some lower body DOMS. I can feel it in my booty. It's not anything bad but there's a hint of it and it COULD worsen as the day progresses. This is a GOOD thing though!http://www.infohub.com/forums/images/smilies/ab.gif

Cathy: Thanks for the other smiley site. I'm using it in this post. Enjoy your run and B&G today. I am going to try to get B&G in EARLY in the week or I won't be doing it. If I have to conquer 9.5 miles this coming weekend I want to make sure the DOMS is long gone by then! LOL

Kristi: Happy Birthday Girl!!!!http://www.infohub.com/forums/images/smilies/l_birthday.gif

So today I am off shopping with my mom. Joey needs a new wardrobe and new sneakers UBER BAD and my mom needs to buy the growing boy a new car seat for her car since he is sprouting right out of the one she has now. She also need to shop for a specific gift for one of my sister's girls.

DH informed me last night that he could be going on 7 10 hr shifts at work as early as this week!http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Surprise/surprised-013.GIF As I said before, this will make the rest of my HM trainig quite difficult. I hope I can do it...

Okay, I think I've babbled on long enough...long enough to need a refill on the java anyhow.http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Drinks/blue-loves-coffee.gif

Enjoyed a nice 5 mile run followed by the B&G mishmosh. I did every other exercise starting with deadlifts and then the bonus stability abs. Gotta shower and then I want to hit Kohl's before I start on schoolwork.

Wendy :: Aren't those the cutest? http://www.infohub.com/forums/images/smilies/laugh.gif If I say I'm wishing you some DOMS, I know you won't take it the wrong way! Enjoy it, girl! Have fun shopping.

Carole :: Enjoy your trail run & FOOTBALL!!!!

Hi Cheetahs!!

It’s Yoga at my gym today. I love the instructor. He does not look like a yoga instructor – tall, has a belly, and little stick legs, but he knows his stuff and he teaches it well. Last night was kind of a bust. The band I love decided to become a Beach Boys Tribute band, and while I like the Beach Boys, this band is not good at them. And the festival has become a place were the high schoolers meet and be obnoxious. We had a good time, but it was not quite the same. So many people brought their dogs, too – poor things – the crowd is so thick that it’s hard to move, the music is LOUD and there are temptations everywhere. Not a place for dogs. Oh well. Today is the Santa Clara Art and Wine festival that is lower key. We’re thinking about stopping by for an hour or two. But the Pats are playing tonight – so that’s the big item for today. I’m making Chicken Chili. YUM!

Kristi – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Hope it was wonderful!!

Cathy – Enjoy your run and B&G! I love that smiley!!!

Wendy – I have my fingers crossed for you and the half. That’s so tough as you’re so close! Honestly, if you can run 9.5 miles, you can run the half. I know you like to be ultra prepared, but seriously. But you need to do what you need to do.

Carole – Enjoy your run and FOOTBALL!!!! We’re there with you! Jimmy says Go Pats!!!

Hi to all who follow!!!

Good morning everyone and I hope y'all are having a fantastic weekend so far! I impulsively decided on doing a local 5k yesterday and was up early to get to it since it was up in the high country above Prescott. I'm at 4,500 ft elevation and this run was at 6,700! It was mostly up hill and I was still recovering from my cold so I ended up doing a slow (for me) 5k 26:30. However, this was a small race and a difficult course so I actually ended up placing 3rd overall for women (which won me free registration for next year's race) and I won my age division although I don't even think there were even 5 women who were 50+! Anyway, I had a great time and it really energized me and got me out of a slump I've been in. When I got home I did Mindy's Interval Express and HSTA cardio and lower body.

I've made a significant move towards a gradual career change too. Work has been very tiring and depressing to me lately and it's time for a change after doing this 26 or so years. I've ordered all the study materials to apply for a certification as a Health fitness instructor with ACSM. This goes beyond a Personal Training cert and enables me to focus on people with health problems and work in a rehab/ wellness center of a hospital. It is specifically designed for people who already are in the health field.... like RNs. I am so very tired of working with patients who are in trouble due to poor lifestyle choices and come to us on death's door expecting to be fixed and go right back on to what they were doing before~ x(
I want to work on the prevention side for a change and work with people who are at least TRYING to do the right thing!

Okay, I've ranted on enough, thank's for letting me vent. I'll be back with personals:7

Okay, I'm back:) Got that off my chest and ready to move on!

Kristi- Happy Birthday! (Belated) Hope it was a great day for ya!

Cathy- I really admire your ambition and determination to be the best at what you do!!! That certification sounds like quite an undertaking! If only all teachers were like you. Great job on your workout today!

Carole- I hadn't done the GS Upper body workouts for a while and I have a super case of DOMS!! Still have them 2 days later:7 Have a great trail run today and enjoy your football!!!!!!!

Susan- I'm so glad to hear that your friend Mary came through Chemo so well. Radiation therapy is a scary thing to face and she is so lucky to have you there for her. Hey, even if she does get some pericarditis tell her not to worry... it's definitely treatable!
I'd like to add to Carole's enthusiastic recommendation of Amy's KBext. This is a FUN FUN workout and quite challenging too.

Christine- Fantastic job on the 8 miles yesterday!!!!! I don't understand why so many people feel compelled to bring their dogs to these outdoor festivals. I see that alot here too and alot of the poor dogs look so frightened. Have a great day Yogaqueen! I LOVE your pic of Jimmy wearing the jersey!!!!

Wendy- Holey Moley..... 7 10 hr shifts for your DH? I hope the poor guy doesn't get burned out! Can your Mom look after Joey on your long runs for you? Did you finally decide on a workout today?
You are so cute with your daily dilemmas and you always make me smile!!!

Today is a nice lazy day for me.... except that DH now has my cold.
But does he suffer in silence like me? Heaven forbid!!! He's a man ya know;-) Anyway, I'll be doing LIC upperbody circuit and a long yoga dvd!!! Probably a Baron Baptiste. Tomorrow is my long run and I feel ready for it..... 18 miles :7

Just checkin’ in to see what’s new with my cheetahs. Quiet day for us. Just came back from Kohl’s and popped a WW Smart One (frozen meal) for lunch. Not bad. (I am happy to say I am down another lb. http://www.infohub.com/forums/images/smilies/ar.gif ) I need to order a couple of tanks from Eddie Bauer (all the stores near me have closed within the past year) and then get crackin’ on the schoolwork!!

Christine :: love Jimmy in his jersey! Too cute!! His body looks so skinny! Has he been doing yoga, too??? http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Winks/wink-3.gif …I hear you on the festival…I’m not always big on those things…I have to be in the “right” mood for a crowd.

Shelly :: Congrats on winning your age division and third overall http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Respect/champion-018.gif …an uphill race at 6,700 feet sounds killer!! And you have a cold. You never cease to amaze!!! Cracking up about DH not takin’ it silently…I can just imagine how wearing and frustrating it would be to handle the kind of patients you do. It sounds like what you have planned is perfectly suited to you. Congrats on taking the first step!…Thank you ~ I know I’d be overshooting it if I was striving to be THE best – but I do want to be the best *I* can be.

Have a great afternoon, everyone!

Cathy...HEY!! They arrested OJ!!!...http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,296948,00.html Good job on the 5 miles and B&G mish mosh! Find any good deals at Kohl's? Congrats on the weight loss...:)

Christine..I have always been a HUGE Beach Boys fan and the "wanna be" bands would just not cut it...I have to ask, what does DH think about the Pats and the sign stealing incident?

Shelly...http://c.myspace.com/Groups/00022/30/07/22227003_l.gif 3rd place overall??!!!! Way to go! I completely applaud your career change....you would be awesome in that job. GS does seem to promote DOMS...:)

The trail run was awesome. Not sure if it is the cooler weather or the Chi running but this time I never took a walk break...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/r/dance.gif[/img]

Off to watch some more http://smilies.sofrayt.com/sae/football4.gif[/img]

Hi Girls.

I don't have a lot of time right now so personals will have to wait until later or perhaps the morning.

Just wanted to pop in and read up on my girls and tell ya that I decided to make today a rest day after all. I got Joey's fall/winter knocked out when shopping today. Everything I got was at a great price so that's always nice. The only thing I think I need are one additional pair of shoes and then once winter is closer I'll need a winter jacket and such. As far as regular clothes go though, he is set!:) In a few minutes we are heading out for a while to visit with DH's cousin and family who live about 10 minutes away.

Gotta go for now...BBL!:)

Carole :: yes, I did see that!...I scored a couple of belts and some socks at Kohl's and found a jeans blazer and ribbed sweater at Burlington Coat Factory. The sweater's too big, though, and has to go back. Yesterday I picked up a few more pants and tops at Ann Taylor with some savings coupons I had. My work wardrobe really needed a boost. I can't stand how some of my too-baggy clothes has been looking...Glad you enjoyed such a great run today! I have been trying the forward lean and midfoot strike...Enjoy more pigskin-watchin'! http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/footballs1.gif

Wendy :: glad you did so well with shopping for Joeykins today! To feed your addiction, here is a smiley just for you: http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/lotsocoffee.gif How's that DOMS? Did it kick in any more?

Apologies in advance for dumb question of the day and don't mean to butt in, but What is a cheetah? I know the dictionary definition. It looks like Cathe Cheetahs are advanced exerciser types who exercise a lot and like to talk with each other pretty regulary about it.

Have a great Cathe day.

Hi everyone!

Cathy - Bummer that your school district won't pay for your class fees! It's good that you're willing to do it on your own. BTW, did you ever try the Greek yogurt?

Wendy - Glad the jewelry party went well. A good way to get some Christmas shopping out of the way.

Susan - Will continue to pray that you friend does well with radiation too. She's a brave trooper.

Christine - Great job with the 8 miles! Love the pic of Jimmy! Too cute.

Kristi - Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you had a wonderful day!

Carole - How was the trail run today? Temps still cool? Hope you enjoyed football.

Shelly - Congratulations on the 5K! Great job! Sounds similar to the course I ran last week. Your slow is fast to me. LOL!! Winning registration was a good bonus. I'm glad you have the courage to make a career change. I can understand why the job would be depressing. Sounds like a fun and interesting field you have chosen. Good luck with it.

I ran 8 miles yesterday. Then DBF and I went looking at furniture. Trying to get some ideas. Today is a rest day. I'm hoping this week will be a better week for.

Hope everyone had a great Sunday!

Jackie

howrobin..we are all runners, some fast some slow, some young and some old...we don't care and anyone that runs a bit is welcome...there seem to be a lot of check-ins, so checking them out is always fun...:)
