::: CHEETAHS ::: Saturday, 11.17

Hello again, cheetahs!

Class is done, and I’m trying to avoid panic mode as I am a little behind in the game at this point. *lol* But I've noticed I am getting really good at taking anything unpleasant and simply blocking it out of my mind. heh heh :) I intended to hit the tanning booth afterward but forgot the lotion. Oh well. Tomorrow. For now, the plan is: eat something, clean, and then work out.

Lori :: do you get any mail from the States? If so, would you happen to know how much the postage is for a card or letter? I think it is 90 cents for overseas…I am definitely the queen of paranoia when it comes to posting things of a personal nature. *lol*

Jackie :: I thought it might be fun to open the gifts at the same time, but I don’t mind waiting, either. Maybe a few more will weigh in with opinions. Any way we do it will be fine by me. :) Thanks for the info on the Nordic. I am going to buy it tomorrow. I wonder…would the box fit in the trunk of a Crown Vic or do you need a trunk?…So tomorrow is the series finale for you! Best of luck!!!

Judy :: thanks for your ETX input – much appreciated to get feedback from sources I trust. iFit is some little chip you can stick in the ETX, and it gives you a customized workout – sort of like the iTreads, I guess.

Wendy :: COMPLETELY understand not wanting to post anything too sensitive to the thread…maybe we can be a welcome distraction for you while you work through things…And definitely do not feel bad about the personals. Sometimes they are do-able and sometimes they are not, but you’re an integral part of our group and we absolutely want to hear from you. No pressure there whatsoever!…Good for you eating out and only getting a salad. I’ve been eating inconsistently for a month now (time has flown!).

Carole :: Many thanks to you, Jackie, Judy, and Sunny for the EXT advice. Very grateful. I’m going with the strider. I am glad it turns out Sears carries them. I just wonder if I can borrow my father’s big-boat car to get it home, or if I’ll need to get my cousin’s truck. My dad is going to put it together for me. Do you think it’s better to have the pro’s assemble it? If it’s too much of a hassle, I don’t want to burden him with it. Enjoy your KB/leg mish-mosh. That is sounding good.

Christine :: Poor DD18. That's gotta sting. How is she enjoying her first semester of college, BTW?…*lol* about possibly being hung over on the 15th. (Whoever has Christine, send a Bloody Mary and some aspirin in her package.) Can’t wait til you try HSC to see what you think…OK, now I’m feeling guilty for my BOSU splurge. I hope it’s not a waste.

Shelly :: darn that ankle…but it sounds like the conservative choice was a wise one…I had class today for the National Board cert thing I’m doing (or not doing). *lol* about the phrase “cold weather weenie.” :7 I will *definitely* work out today, I promise!!!

Susan :: enjoy your do-nothing day! Those are so refreshing and much-needed now and then…I was absolutely mortified that my phone called you in the middle of the night. Thank God you didn’t hear it.

BBL, chickadees! :7 :7 :7

ETA: Sunny :: I started out on the 40 last January...they moved me up to 60 the next month...and then back down to 40 b/c it was a bit too much. The total course of treatment ran from mid-to-end January through August. In June and July, I did 60 - I think 20 mg in the AM and 40 in the evening. Since my cholesterol stayed relatively low, I was able to not get the last two blood tests. One less hoop to jump through...that was nice. I noticed improvement quickly, but I would say my skin started to look really good by about the third month in. I saw a "before" shot from last December and shuddered. It has made a world of difference. I feel like I have (close to) my 22-year-old skin back.

Susan - great that your girls are doing so well! I'm not surprised though, with you as their mom. I really enjoy KBX - more below. Yes, I love soup, too. I'll have to get you my recipe for Tomato Basil soup - I usually make it Christmas Eve (it's not tough, you just have to use a food processor and that's a pain). It's always a big hit.

Sunny - Oh, I know what you mean. Although I'm certain you can do it. :p You're a strong lady! I am definitely coming to North Carolina in January. We have to meet!

I did KBX - well most of it. I really enjoyed it! I am soaked in sweat. I did not do combo 5 because my brain was fried (okay, the rest of me was too!). I can see that this will be a massive calorie burner once I get it down (I think next time through will be a lot easier, as well). Her form isn't as bad as I was led to believe. In fact of some things, she actually has better form than Cathe did on her first KB workouts. I'm not thrilled with the side jump kicks - probably more because I pulled my knee tendon with a side jumpkick - but that was a real one and these I can tame down. The core work was interesting and very short. Not sure I'll do that again. I prefer the core work in KPC. But then again, for some basic core strengthening work, it's decent. I previewed the heavy bag part, and it looks like she does not actually punch the bag. Did I not see the whole thing?

Anyway - I'm off to the showers then to get my nails done, then hit the grocery store. Then it's turkey prep, etc. Have a great day everyone!

2.5 Hours left to go. Today isn't to bad even though Im not busy...Im just hungry and can't wait to get off of work! Im trying not to eat to much today b/c we are going out tonight. Truth be known Im more bored then I am hungry.

Carole** Enjoy your workout!:)

Wendy** You must be getting your house work done...you haven't checked in in a while}( I can't change my user name, or atleast I don't think I can....I think I have to become a new member. Prehaps I will just let it be, unless someone knows how to change it?

Christine** Have a good run....I wish I were going;( Sounds like you have some good meals planned this week. YOur soup sounds yummy!:9

Shelly** You probably made a good choice. How many miles was the race?

Susan** I think if we can raise our kids to be good people then we have done our job! Every report DD as brought home says that she gets along well with others...and that always makes me happy. She always seems to have trouble at the beginning of the yr though maybe b/c she is in french emersion? Anyway...this yr is totally differnt. Her lowest mark so far was a 86.

Sunny** Yeah HM right now wouldn't be wise! LOL The last time my lunges got bad was when I was pregnant and Im not sure why. I wasn't allowed to take anything for it either and had to suffer though it.

Cathy** Im not sure what the postage is but thats about right. Lucky for me we have lots of US stamps at work}(

Lori:)

Good Afternoon Girls.

I just finished my work out but I can't say the same for the housework. LOL I *did* do some of the chores but chose to save a few for later instead of having all of the fun at once! :p

I did a 3 round upper body work out of my own design which 8 exercises each in the first 2 rounds and 5 in the final round. I averaged 12-15 reps on most (but not all) exercises. I varied the exercises a bit in each round as well. After that I hit the deck for BM2 abs. I used the pyramid u/b warm up to start it off and BM2's stretch at the end. The whole thing took about an hour and I feel it was a good work out!}(

I just finished my recovery drink whose pkg I did NOT shake before opening it this time. I was NOT taking any chances! LOL Now I have to finish up the last of the housework and grab a shower before DS gets up in about an hour.

I am hoping to get back here for personals when I'm done. I don't like being a slacker!;) :7

BBS.

Wendy- Nice workout today :)

I just popped back in to say the walk I took with a friend was 8 miles! I am a bit disappointed though because my Garmin stopped working. I just won't turn on. It isn't even 6 month old yet. I will try to contact their customer support line when it opens on Monday.

Christine :: glad you enjoyed KBX...I considered buying that at one point, and for some reason, I managed to resist...Roundhouse kicks are what trouble me. Cannot seem to master the form on that.

Lori :: have fun at dinner tonight...You are right...you can't change your user name; you can only re-register.

Wendy :: looks like an awesome w/out with some killer abs at the end.

Judy :: sorry about the Garmin...Wonder if there is a way to reset it. Hope it can be easily fixed!

I just finished up a major cleaning spree and am kickin' back before working out. I'm goin' for a total change-up and will try out the Bosu DVD that came with it. I'm just too curious.

Just poppin' back in to say I did the BOSU DVD - fun!! It's not a Cathe-intensity workout by any stretch but more or less an instructional video to help you get acclimated. (I probably won't actually use it again, but it gave me some ideas on how to use it.) My initial impression is that I am going to be happy with this investment. I *really* felt the ab work and the pushups, and even for standing work, the balance component adds a whole new challenge. Off to go place my order for the hi/lo dome workout...thumbs up on this one!
