::: CHEETAHS ::: make it a *great* one - Monday

Hi Cheetah babes!

So, I'm sitting here enjoying a beautiful day and the wonderful high I'm on after just completing my first 10 miler in 1:34 flat...yippeeeee! I was shooting for 1:30 but ran into one heck of a head wind 5 miles in. Oh well, I'm still psyched though! My neighbor wasn't available to head for the trails today and she was going to me my trail guide so I opted for the long run and I'm glad I did! Oh yeah, I finished my project last night of filling all my outside flower boxes with fall flowers and foliage and I have to say they are very purty!

Judy - How wonderful for your friend! I hope she doesn't get too hooked or has a lot of $$$$. If she's doing hunters or jumpers it can get ridiculously expensive. I see we both had Clean Max on our rotations today...I got my done in the wee early hours this am.

Cathy - That was some workout day you had yesterday...wow! Oh drats that you can't join us physically. A day sooner and you could have just run around the ship a bunch of times lol.

Wendy - Oh, now THAT'S the kind of chocolate I LOVE! I find milk and a lot of commercial dark chocolate way too sweet. I'd be happy to take it off your hands :9. Just make sure you avoid public toilets or anywhere you might have to do a hover squat lol.

Linda - Yeah, we'll have to do it all again sometime this week...fun.

Christine - Yes, I did get all of today off and am enjoying every gosh darn minute of it!!! I'm sorry your achilles is still sore...hopefully it will subside as the day goes on. Oh, good for your friend! You guys are really inspiring me to shoot for a HM by spring. That's great that you're going to do that 10.6 miler...WTG!

Sunny - Ooooh, I love S&H chest and back...enjoy your DOMS.

Lorie - Another hover squat victim :p. That's a great run you got in today and great advice from Christine. That sounds like a great deal for your Vegas wedding and HM...you know you're going to do it girl!

Kristi - I hope real life settles down soon for you so you can get your w/o's in.

Carole - The Shawangunk Mountains are absolutely gorgeous this time of year! They are part of the Catskills and there are a few state parks (Minnewaska and Mohonk) up there that have some breathtaking views of the entire Hudson Valley. The Weather Channel has actually been running a feature about rock climbing in the Gunks (as we call them). I hope to get there next week before the trees are past peak.

Amy - Way to get back on the wagon. Great w/o.

Susan - I get those food hangovers, too. Although, it sounded like it was worth it! You're getting some great workouts in...WTG!

Shelly - Are you calling me a sicko, too?!?!? That is my favorite cardio premix of all time! I'm so glad you got a vacay day...your hours are just brutal. Count me in as another who keeps checking my email for a confirmation.

Jackie - Oh, sorry about your car window. That would not be a good thing in the rain! Great w/o this morning.

That about catches me up. I'm going to head outside and start blowing leaves. Where on earth did all this energy come from? I know I'll crash hard tonight. Ta ta!

Hello, cheetahs!

Sunny :: hope you enjoyed your run + S&H.

Judy :: yes, that is Veterans’ Day weekend – also Teachers’ Convention for us here in Jersey…Hope you enjoyed your w/out today.

Wendy :: sorry about the wicked cough ~ but at least that gunk’s comin’ up!…*lol* about the toilet seat not being your friend…Can’t wait for the delivery!! The question is: will be able to finish out this week's rotation or will drop everything to try out the new ones?

Lorie :: glad you enjoyed a solid 7-mile run today. That’s mighty darn good for someone who wasn’t feelin’ like much of anything this morning. WTG!

Christine :: hope you’re resting and icing that achilles…sounds like your friend did great, too! I saw that your Pats won, so it was an all-around up day, huh? :)

Carole :: I love reserving Monday as a stretch or yoga day. It just hits the spot. Hope you enjoyed your workout. All this BBC talk makes me want to dust mine off…but not now with the 4-day split comin’!

Susan :: mmm, apple pie! How could you resist! Oh yeah, that cheesecake is DEADLY. I will have to indulge in a slice of the pumpkin cheesecake as it is only seasonal.

Shelly :: glad you only have two 12-hour shifts this week…As I mentioned to Carole, that is my Monday routine – either stretch or a yoga session…I just LOVE easing into the week that way. Knocked it out at 4:45 this morning as I have early dinner plans tonight. Thanks again for that link you posted on the OD. I’m gonna try not to do too much damage. Oh man, I SO wish I were going to LV with you all!

Jackie :: did the dealer get that window fixed?

Wendi :: GREAT job with your 10-miler. *lol* about running around on the ship…I did see folks running on the last cruise I was on, but I am not real good with going in circles like that. I’m sure I will be checkin’ out the fitness room, though. And I will definitely be parasailing.

Hi Linda, Kristi, Amy G, Amy and anyone else dropping in.

I had another dreaded migraine come on as I was getting ready for work this morning. I took some Excedrin and went in, hoping for the best. Taught with the lights out all day (the kids were great, bless their hearts) and managed not to get sick. It's not bad now, but I'm still glad I did my stretching in the AM. Need to go get ready and head out to dinner.

Have a good night, ladies!

Wendy, you lucky duck!!! I've still got nothing :-(. Although, I'm not sure I'll be able to do them right away anyway...but I can't wait to preview!!!

Okay, I need help...I just did something really stupid. I ordered BBC! I saw the thread in OD and I just couldn't say no to 5 w/o's for $19.95. I am very askeered now...especially with what I've heard from Lorie, Wendy and everyone in the other thread. UH OH !

I’m back and feeling really good after Yoga for Happiness Magically Hips – that one really stretches the legs. LOVE it!

Lorie – So glad I convinced you to run! WAY TO GO on doing 7 miles!! *Does happy does with Lorie!*

Kristi - Thanks! Enjoy your run with Chelsea! How’s she doing for you? Is she coming along well? Sounds like she is. Glad you checked in!

Carole - It is a big mix of people. I enjoy it. I’m trotting along minding my own business and a woman twice as big as me will pass me at a good clip. I silently cheer her on – thinking “You go girl!” I just love it. And the smiles at the finish line! It’s amazing. The Achilles pain is better already. A little stiff, but I have Power Circuits on tap for tomorrow and I think I’ll be able to give it a good go. Enjoy BBC!

Amy – Thanks for the check in! Glad to know all is well! Enjoy your gym workout!

Susan – Oh, yeah, that ice cream felt great today! There were a few poses that just felt so good that I kind of understood what he meant (but, still, not quite to THAT extent!) Sorry about the food hangover! I hate those. Fresh baked apple pie, hmm? I’m not sure I’d have been able to resist. One piece of pie does not a failure make… :+ Hope your run was pleasant!

Shelly – Glad you have a short shift today! Enjoy your cardio – I love that premix (hey – watch who you’re calling a sicko! :p) The Big Sur run is beautiful. Check out the photos – http://www.bsim.org/Big_Sur_in_Pictures/Photo_Gallery/2006_Album.htm. I cannot wait to run it. Although I understand that only the 21 mile and marathon actually go across that bridge, but it’s supposed to me the most beautiful marathon in the world (or one of them). It’s also tough. So I think you should join us for it… *walks away whistling* :+

Jackie – that’s for the drive by – always nice to know you’re doing well! Good job on the iTread! I have my fingers crossed for the car window and the rain. Looks like we’re going to get some too. But ya never know in California.

Sunny – get signed up girl! It’s not real until you do! Sounds like a great time of year to run a half in North Carolina!!

Judy - Yeah for the mirror! Nice to be able to check your form!

Wendi – Glad to hear you’re enjoying your day! Enjoy your leaf blowing! The Achilles is better, so I’m happy. Check out the photos from last year’s 10.6 miler. I’ve always thought that this one would be the ultimate Cheetah GTG. A run for everyone, and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world! (I posted the link in the message for Shelly. Oh - you'll LOVE BBC! They are only as tough as you make them. The first time I did them, I went light with the weights, and had no DOMs. The cardio is tough, but you can always do it with an 8" step instead of a 14" one. So you can adapt it to suit your needs. You'll be fine!

Cathy – Glad you managed to head off that migraine! Sorry you’re not 100% Hope you feel better! Yoga is the best thing for the Achilles – gentle stretching. It’s feeling good. Yeah – that was quite the game yesterday! We were sitting with a good mix of fans at the local sports bar and one side or the other was constantly cheering.

Wendy – Oh COOL!!! Let us know how they are! It’ll be another week and a half before I get mine as I ordered in August and they are coming on Pony Express to me across country…

I’m losing my window seat and going into dreaded cube only territory. Oh well. No more watching the traffic as it goes into the mall. Bummer. But there is a conference room – so maybe I can go in there and draw the curtains and do some yoga… There’s a rainbow! Enjoy your evenings everyone!

Hey everyone!

Cathy - I am embarrassed to say that I honestly don't remember the last time I did a Fluidity workout :+ But...I do use it for pullups on Amy's APX workout! :7 It works really well for that! I sure hope that migraine goes away!

Sunny - Hope you enjoyed the run and S&H! I love S&H, but don't do it much anymore because of the length. But..I need to :)

Judy - your workout plan sounds good! I think maybe it was Laura was building a new house??? Not quite sure, but I think???

Wendy - I was coughing and coughing and felt like I had "stuff" in my chest a couple of weeks ago. I used Mucinex and my doc wrote me a 'script for Rhinocort and I feel much better. They told me to use the Rhinocort until the first frost. I hope the Mucinex helps you!
Congrats on your shipping notice! My invoice was 13486 and I got next day shipping....but no notice for me yet:-( I can't wait!!

Christine - Thanks for the welcome back! :7 That was a great time on your half! That is great about your friend! She has been bitten by the bug! ;-) Tell little Jimmy I said "hey" and Madison says "hello" ;-) ;-)

Kristi - Hey there! Good job on the 5 mile treadmill run! I am seriously thinking of the Hatfield and McCoy too! That would be great if we could do it and meet up! I really wanted to do it last year...but...just couldn't do it :-(

Carole - That would be so much fun! Are you guys gonna dress up like Santa? I have begged Bob to go to Vegas that weekend so I can run the 1/2....but.."no can do". After Vegas next week...I am out of time off. Enjoy your run and BBC!

Amy - Enjoy Leslie and your gym workout!

Susan - Hope you enjoyed your workout! The pie sounds yummy! I haven't got to "talk" to you since your friend got sick. I hope she is doing better and that all is okay with her.

Shelly - Hey there! I love that pre-mix! :7 That is a really fun one! It is a long one, though! Yes, it is awful that they blocked "Cathe"! It really makes me mad because I can't figure out why on earth they would block hers and not some of the other ones! They blocked a lot of others, but Cathe doesn't even have popups or "anything"! Grr!

Jackie - Good job on your iTread! I love that one! Rain? You got rain? We USED to get rain! :-( We don't get it anymore! It is soo dry here!

Wendi = Aren't those "highs" after a long run great? Great job!

Lorie - You're getting married in Vegas? We got married in Vegas, too! (15 years ago, though)! We got married at "The Little White Chapel". It was great!

Hope everyone has a great night and hope I didn't miss anyone!

Oh...I took today as a rest day!

Talk to you later!

Linda

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh! While I was busy "yacking" my shipping notice came!!! I am supposed to get it tomorrow! Oh dear....I hope Madison doesn't get ahold of it before I get home  I will come home from work on my lunch and check on it :7

Night!

I rec'd my shipping notice and will have mine tomorrow, too. What do we do?!? Do we finish the week's rotation or go gonzo with the new w/outs?? Decisions!

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone! I'm OK - the worst is over. It makes for not the most pleasant day, but I'm glad I made it through. There was a time when I'd have been barfing my brains out and would have had to go home. And I know I'm lucky - some people have these for DAYS on end, or they occur way more frequently than mine do. So I don't want to sound too much like I'm complaining. It could be worse, I know!! :)

Linda :: so Madison tears into your packages, huh?...I don't remember when I last did Fluidity, either...it is just so hard to fit in with everything else. I guess it was my dumbest fitness purchase, but oh well. Live and learn.

Wendi :: I can't believe how much the price dropped on the BBC series...great deal!

Christine :: I still have Eionn on my shoppping list...The more you talk, the more I want it!...Yoga did help my achilles a lot after my recovery...There was one move my former instructor did - I think it was called frog? - I've never seen it in any of the DVDs I've tried or in other classes I've taken - but that one really gave a good stretch back there...Checked out Big Sur! That looks AWESOME, and I started to get pumped about a potential cheetah GTG, but then checked my calendar, and unfortunately, I have my once-a-month class on the 26th, so it probably would not work out for me.

Cathy - I will will probably do the new ones this week(at least the weights, anyway)! I know me...I usually can't wait! I agree about the Fluidity! I know that it is really a good concept and program....but there is only so much time in a day...week...that I don't want to give up my weights and running (or whatever cardio I do). It does work well for a substitute for when Amy Bento builds up her risers 9 high and does pullups! Madison absolutely would think it was a present to her and chew it to bits! I am lucky that my migraines have slowed down a lot since I have gotten "older" ;) Okay...since menopause :+ Keep feeling better :)

Christine – Are you still doing a lot of yoga/pilates instead of weight training? I’m thinking about doing that so I can get in stretching to help with my running. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to fit it all in. So since I want to focus on running then I really need to also fit in stretching. I noticed tonight while trying to do unweighted squats, plie squats, and lunges that my legs are stiff, probably from my 5 miler last night. Any yoga video recommendations you would like to share? I’m open to suggestions. Chelsea is doing good. Thanks for asking. This past weekend was a turning point with her. I think she is finally realizing how we expect her to behave. It’s like a lightbulb has went off. She really has changed since we got her 1 ½ months ago. Annamarie is starting to get attached to her too. She is always giving Chelsea hugs and kisses, and Chelsea lets her. I think in about 6 months she will be a completely transformed dog.

Cathy – Sorry to hear about your migraines. I’m glad you were able to stop it. I completely sympathize with you. I had migraines 3 times last week and weekend, which is very unusual for me. It is from the birthcontrol pill I was on. On Saturday, following my last migraine, I decided to stop taking the medicine. It is not worth it.

Wendi – Enjoy BBC!!

Linda - I would really like to do the Hatfield McCoy HM with you. It would be nice to meet you.

Hi SunnyD, Judy, Carol, Lorie, Jackie, & Amy. Sorry to be so short on personals. I’m one tired cheetah! Time for me to wrap things up for tonight and get some sleep. 5:30 comes awfully early in the morning. Oh, don’t forget tomorrow is BOSS’S DAY! Tomorrow morning I have to stop at Krispy Kreme and pick up the doughnuts before heading into work. I think I will stop before I take the kids to daycare & school so they can have one too.
Have a great night! I’ll talk at ya tomorrow.

Well, due to a crazy day between work, a doc appointment for Joey and heading up to train my BF, I wasn't able to fit in my own work out so I did upper body and abs with BF just get SOMETHING in. :)

I had made the decision to do this with her and then I got my shipping notice. I was sooooo close to resting today just so I could do upper body tomorrow when the new work outs get here but I decided that was silly. I can still play around with the cardio and can try the u/b wed, thurs, fri but I am DEFINATELY holding off on the lower body portion until after my HM! I'm no fool!:p

Sorry, too late for personals tonight. I hope to catch up in the a.m. over coffee though!:)

Nighters!:*
