Mornin', cheetahs! Thought one of my fellow early birds would've got us goin' by now.

I did SC&C this morning and have to agree with all the comments previously made. GREAT shoulder fryer. I am definitely not quite ready for 15#s yet!! The calf work gave a good burn, too.

Am sucking down an Oreo protein shake quickly and then have to hustle my butt to get ready.

Will be back later tonight to see what you're all up to. Hope you all have a FAB Friday!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Good morning Cheetahs!

I'm going to be very short on time these next few days and will try to catch up when I can. I'm so sorry that I probably won't be able to post personals but I am reading the goings on and hope everyone the best. That said, please excuse the self centered post :p...

My day ended rather crummy yesterday. We ended up with not a drop of rain so I had a ton of horses to school (jump) and all was going phenomenally well until that same bugger of a mare deposited me, again, in almost the exact same fashion...but this time it was pure attitude, not green-ness. Needless to say I'm more than pissed at her at the moment x(. Thank goodness I took this impact more on my trap/rhomboid area than my rib/shoulder blade. I got one hell of a neck adjustment in the process, too. So, needless to say, I'm extremely sore this morning...on *top* of the DOMS from 4DSKB! Of course those same people are supposed to come, again (hopefully *rolls eyes*), to look at that mare and the five other horses. They better make it this time x(!

Tomorrow's a horse show and I actually have to *show* one...gag x(! I hate showing. I'll prep them at home and then let someone else show them...not my thing! So you guys probably won't see me at all tomorrow. I'll have to be to the barn by 3:30am and probably won't get home until 9 or 10pm when it's all said and done.

Then Sunday I have my race. Immediately after that I'm jumping in the car and heading to my mother's in Mass to see some friends of ours I haven't seen in 16 years. They are up from Florida and staying with her...I absolutely can't wait and am so excited to see them again :7 :7!

So, long story, well long...I might be able to check in sometime Monday from my mom's. Until then I send {{{HUGS}}} and {{{VIBES}}} to those who need it, and wish everyone a great weekend! Take care!

Good Morning Cheetahs.

I'm tired. For some stupid reason I didn't go to bed until like midnight. I've gotten so used to being in bed between 9 and 10 most nights that I'm really feelin' it now. :-( Needless to say, the coffee tastes EXTRA good this morning!:9

Cathy: Glad you loved the shoulder work in the new series. That is the one work out where I was actually able to keep up with Cathe weight wise through the entire work out. I am normally not strong enough. Somehow I managed though and it was BURNIN' like CRAZY!}(

Sunny: So I guess this means that you are definately going to go back to school then!!! Good for you! One question though...where in the heck are you finding the time!?!?

Lori: Have a great run today!

Wendi: OMG girl! I am worn out just reading your post. I gotta hand it to ya. You have more energy then I do! Good luck at your race. I'm sure you'll do great! Have fun at your mom's. Sounds like it'll be a well-deserved good time for you. :)

So I have 4DS C&B on tap for today. I don't know if I'll attack HIS as well or sub in another cardio. It depends on how awake my brain is when I go to work out. LOL

Time for more coffee!:9

Good Morning Cheethas!

Oh I’m SOO happy it’s Friday! YAY! I have Jimmy’s evaluation at the new Doggie Day Camp, so I have more time this morning. I’m planning on doing 4DBC/B&T’s and C&T (probably not in that order). I’m looking forward to BC. Should be fun.

Cathy – I hope the work situation gets better. I’m really sorry for it. You’re an excellent teacher, and your kids love you. I’ll keep you in my prayers! I’m with you – I get stressed, I binge. I went up to a 12# set and that was plenty for me on SC&C! I usually do go lighter than Cathe on shoulder work as I have to be careful. Do you have fun plans this weekend?

Sunny – I’ve actually never worked from home. I just have jobs where I can work from home if I need to – technology is wonderful – eh? I don’t think I’d like to work from home full time. Maybe a day or two a week, but never full time – it would be too lonely. Sounds like a good workout planned!

Lori – enjoy your run!

Wendi – wow! I’m tired just reading about your day tomorrow! Your photos are beautiful, by the way. Is Eternal Gold your horse? He’s stunning. As a horse lover from way back when, I’m always in awe watching them jump. Hope you sell the feisty mare and don’t have to worry about her dumping you any more! And I hope you heal quickly from this latest one!

Wendy – Sorry you’re tired. I hate that. I go to bed early, too, and it seems no matter how late I sleep in, I still wake up at the same time and can not sleep. Enjoy C&B – I’ll be doing it “with you” today.

Well, after Jimmy evaluation, I’m meeting my coworkers for Sushi – for a last lunch with the coworker whose last day was yesterday. Then I may just come home and work from home – we’ll see. No one else will be in the office – so I may as well work from home! :p Have a great day everyone!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...way to go on 25 lbs for the seated tri ext's!! I am really sorry about the work situation. I hate those things that get my stomach in knots! I sometimes binge during stress too...you know, those damn Kettle Chips! I hope the situation works its way out soon...glad you enjoyed SC&C. I think all of these workouts are becoming favorites for me.

Sunny..yes, I ordered Amy's Slo-mo and ASC2. The video clips look great. I think they will be shipping this weekend. Enjoy your iStrength and iTread hilly workout..Imax2 is my favorite of the Imaxes.

Wendy...glad the recovery run felt good yesterday. I did 12.5, 15, 17.5 & 20 lbs for the seated tri exts, but I will try and work up to 30, who knows! I did like the KB workout but it was too short! I say go for the 15K on the trails. They probably have a map online for the course and you could get and idea for the hills. That is the same distance I do a trail run up here. 9.3 miles. And you can try out the Heed! I will be doing 4DS C&B with you today.

Shelly...Yes, JC is a very mellow kitty! I thought you were probably up to about 40lbs for the seated tri exts!...http://www.langkawi.dk/smileys/w100.gif[/img] I agree about the heavy weight work though, I do love it. I agree completely that KB is way short. I started with about 21 min of KPC before I did KB, so it made it better.

Lori..I used to not eat before a run or workout, but after training for marathons I got used to eating something. Now before any workout it is usually half a protein bar, water during the workout and then a protein smoothie within 30 mins of finishing my workout. Enjoy your run today.

Wendi...so sorry about that not nice mare! I think I would have to snub her for awhile...:)..I do hope the flaky people finally show up. I bet you show really well...Don't worry about personals, you have a lot on your plate this weekend. I do hope you will have some fun.

Christine...20 lbs for the low plane lunges??? http://www.neutralunderground.com/forum/images/smilies/8-06-06/omg.gif[/img] Wow! I do believe Cathe used 12 lbs. I was saying "Ouch" (or maybe something else) with each step running the other day! I agree that HIS is more complicated than LIS. I hope you enjoy 4DBC and Bi's & tri's today..Hope the new Doggie Day camp gets approval...:)

Judy...I do punish my legs 3 days a week!! Yesterday was not bad though as floor legwork doesn't usually make me sore as the standing weight work. Good job with your iClimb workout. Sounds like a fun, busy weekend for you.

Kristi...the leg DOMS did get a lot better. I have some in my upper body, but it feels good to know I have worked the muscles. I cannot even imagine 100 miles a week!! I think the most I ever did marathon training was 60 weekly miles, and maybe just once or twice!

I am doing 4DS C&B and a 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Christine: I hope Jimmy does well at his evaluation! I know he will!:) Enjoy your sushi lunch and I hope you are able to work from home this afternoon. What a great way to bring in the weekend!:) I tend to get up around the same time even if I've gone to bed late. When I DO sleep in I usual cuss myself because then I don't have my "me" time with my coffee and computer before DS get up. (and on the weekends, DH too)I am so tired right now. I think I will definately need a nap before I work out this afternoon. It's gonna be a looong morning....

Carole: You should know that I am typing this to you with DS on my lap. He's watching Sponge Bob-newest obsession! LOL I guess I should order Heed if I am going to try it out at this race!}( A part of me wants to do the 5 miler on Black Friday instead just b/c I've done it before and want to see if I can run it quicker BUT I have to admit that as much as it scares me, this 15K trail race has my curiosity peeked. I checked out a map of the course but it was too small to be able to read it so it didn't help me at all. x(

Wendy..that is so cute little Joey is in your lap watching Sponge Bob!! I bet you could email someone from the 15K website and tell them you would like a written description of the course as you have not run a trail before. I can also understand why you would prefer the 5 miler again for a quicker pace. Whatever you decide will be good...:)

Carole: I think I will do that. Thanks for the suggestion. I will decide which race I will do once I get a response back from the 15k folks!:)

Good morning cheetahs! Today is a beautiful day. It must be because I only have to work 1/2 day today. :) I love this set up. My office manager and I switch off on Fridays. One of us gets to leave at noon, but gets paid for a full day, and without using any sick or vacation time. It’s a sweet deal! My General Manager is really great to let us do this. Anyway, when I get off at noon I need to drive 1 ½ hours one way to Louisville to visit a friend for a couple hours. She had her baby boy the end of August. Of course this means that I won’t be able to get in a workout today, but I really need to go visit her before she goes back to work the week of Thanksgiving. Anyway, this weekend will be so much fun. My inlaws are camping at the Horse Park from today until Sunday. Tomorrow the campers have trick or treating for the kids so we will be dressing up as a family. DH LOVES Halloween. DH made all of our costumes except DDs, my MIL made hers. We are doing a Peter Pan theme (Disney version). DS will be Captain Hook, DH Peter Pan, DD Tinkerbell, and I will be Wendy. DH even made DS’s treat bag with the crocodile on it. It looks amazing. I can’t wait to share pics with you all. Sunday I’m hoping to get in a nice run at the Horse Park. Also, my inlaws love having the kids for the weekend. Saturday is also DS’s last soccer game. It will be so nice to have my inlaws see him play one game. As you can tell, I absolutely love my inlaws. They are the best!

Cathy – Sorry work has been so hectic. I hope everything turns out okay for you! The Oreo protein shake sounds delicious. I need to start drinking protein shakes again. I just bought 3 cans of BSN protein powder (cinnamon roll, whipped vanilla, and banana pudding, I think that’s right) about 3 weeks ago and haven’t had a chance to start using them. Yes, it is laziness on my part. Monday I’m hoping to start doing better , both exercise and workout wise.

Sunny – DD is doing good. Thanks for asking. How is work and the boys? Are you still working a lot?

Lori – Have a nice run!

Wendi – You sound super busy. Have a great weekend! Good luck with your race on Sunday!

Christine – Sending good ((VIBES)) to Jimmy at the new doggie day camp! Enjoy your sushi lunch!

Hi Jackie, Judy, Wendy, Carole, Amy, Susan, & Lorie! Am I missing anyone? Sorry, if I did.

Quick post - have to get ready! I sooo overestimated the time I had. I did 4DBC - oh my! This is definitely my favorite of the bunch! It was SOOOO fun! When I finished, I wanted to turn around and do it again! I had such a blast! Did the Chest and Back work as well - enjoyed that too, but I may do double sets in the places where she does single sets - like the pull overs and the chest presses. Did the stretch at the end and realized that I need a day of yoga desperately! Fortunately, my rotation has 2 days of yoga only in it for the next few weeks. I'll need it! If I can work from home this afternoon, then I'll do Bi's and tri's (and maybe BC again. }( )

Have a great day everyone!

I just checked the HM site and the results are FINALLY up! I was getting incredibly mad as I could not find my name. Well I finally found it and the reason I was having a hard time was because they have me coming in at 2:28:59 instead of 2:30:27. How the heck could there be such a huge difference?? Odd but atleast they have me coming in SOONER and not LATER like one of my last races! So which time do I go by now??? :p

Good morning all! I slept pretty good last night, have only one night off and head back in tonight. DH really wants me to do this publicity photo shoot at the hospital... I'm still waffling on it though. I actually have some DOMS in the quads and hams from the lower body circuit workout:) that rarely happens! Should be interesting on my run today:eek:

Cathy- A HUGE TGIF for you today I guess! That shoulder workout is indeed a fryer! Are you going to do the cardio (LIC) portion later?
Doing a formal posed publicity shoot is ALOT different from posing for pics with friends and at races! I'm actually quite publicity shy!! Well, I have to talk to my boss and see how much she really wants me to do this. The 3 other CVICU RNs they have asked to do this are all young "in shape" nurses on days. It makes me suspicious that they have deliberately selected nurses who don't look like they need open heart surgery themselves! ;-)

SunnyD- Hey, I'm joining you in the DOMS today!! I actually have that iStrength workout.. I used it while on vacation.

Lori- Hope you get in a good run today!! I understand your difficulty with your friend. She sounds like a very nice person whose friendship you don't want to lose. Unfortunately, she's the type who has to have constant companionship and verbal input, even when running. Well, you'll work it out I'm sure. I'm the type who deliberatly seeks and needs solitude but there are many who would never dream of such a thing.

Wendi- Not to worry about your so called "self centered" post!!!
My goodness, I just don't know how you manage to fit it all in
We're happy you take the time to fill us all in on your amazing activities!! Sorry the weather didn't cooperate with you yesterday:( If these people show up I hope this means you won't have to deal with that mare again! Anyway, best of luck to you on Sunday and will look forward to reading your report on Monday!

Wendy- I'm with you in that I'm almost always in bed between 9 and 10. You'd never know I work nights! I'll be interested in hearing if you tackled HIS cardio today. That one you definitely need an alert brain for. I'm proud to say that I've pretty much got it down by now.

Christine- So what does this eval that Jimmy is going for today entail? Are they checking him to make sure he'll "behave well" at the day camp? Sounds like a pleasant day for you. I'm curious to hear what you think of the 4DS BC workout.

Carole- That KPB/DB combo sounds good! I'm thinking too that adding on the KM blasts to the 4DS BC workout would make a decent yet time sparing workout. Have a great run today... I'll also be doing a 4 miler:)

Kristi- You sound very up beat today! Sounds like a good deal you have going with your boss re: Fridays! That's so sweet that you are taking the time to visit your friend in Louisville. I used to work there ya know, at Jewish Hospital.... post open heart surgery of course! Your weekend sounds like lots of fun!! I look forward to seeing those pics.

Time to get moving here. I'll be doing a 4 mile run to the neighborood mailboxes and back and then it'll be the HIS upperbody circuit :7

Hey! Got a response about the 15k race! What do y'all think?

Here's what I wrote:

Hi there.

I am interested in possibly running the Navesink Challenge 15K for the first time this year. I am curious, though, as to what the course is really like. I clicked on the map but it comes up so small that I can't tell anything from it. Would it be possible for you to provide me with a short description of it. I am interested in knowing about how hilly it is and how rough the terrain will be. I just completed my first HM (Fast and flat) so I'm confident the distance is okay but I am in no way a seasoned trail runner and would like to avoid making a BIG mistake.

Thank you so much for your time!
Wendy

Here's how they responded:

Wendy,

Thanks for your interes.

The course is rather hilly but it is not a rough trail. Its a combination of dirt roads and paved back roads. no winding through narrow trails in the woods, etc.

Everyone finishes - at least most of the time!

Its a fun event.

hope you can make it - you will feel good when you finish.

******

To do it or not to do it...THAT is the question!:7

Hi Wendy! Did you wear a chip at this race? The 2:28 time is likely your chip time and the 2:30 is the gun time. There can be quite a difference if when you started you were more in the back of the pack so to speak. I remember at the PF Chang marathon it took me a good 10 minutes after the start of the race before I crossed the start line.
Congratulations again! I'll have to go check out the race web site to see your name!

That trail race sounds nice!!

ShellyC

Shelly - Good luck making a decision on the photo shoot. You are a great role model. I remember you telling me you lived in Louisville for a while. How long ago? What made you decide to move, a new nursing position in open heart surgery? Too bad you don't live in KY anymore. I would love to meet you. You are so upbeat and positive. Have a great run and a terrific weekend!

wendy- i agree, the trail race sounds interesting!! well school doesn't start until spring of next year and it's all online classes (fully accredited) so i don't have to go anywhere. i just have to be able to make time to do my homework with my kids sitting on my lap...lol. also i've cut back so much on the clients at the gym where i started that i have a little more free time...

kristi- everyone is doing great! thanks for asking. i know i missed dd's bday so happy belated bday!! work is going, going, going. it's so funny how it's taken off. i trained a lady the other day and she only wanted to purchase a single session. after we trained, she signed up to workout with me twice a week, lol. but i tell you when you love what you are doing it just doesn't feel like you are working:D

christine- oh ok, thanks for the clarification. i agree would be lonely, however it's a nice benefit to be able to work from home when necessary.

carole- i am excited about the shipping news, thanks. ( i never check her website to stay on top of the updates). i pre-ordered slo mo and hi/lo dome.

wendi- i hope those folks keep their word and come over today!

shelly- sounds like such a fun workout you have planned today. you are really loving the new workouts. that's awesome! gotta love our cathe:7

ttyl....

Shelly: No, this was not a chipped race! Odd, huh? I just can't figure it out! DH has me videotaped passing the clock at 2:30:27! With out it being a chipped race, how could they possibly keep track of when everyone passed the start line?? I'm clueless but happy about it anyway! LOL

Wendy – it may be that they actually watched the time you crossed the start line and the time you crossed the finish line – which is why it took so long to get the results and why you were two minutes shorter – but YEAH! WAY TO GO!!!! I think you should run the 15k - it sounds really nice! An you know yourself – if you do NOT run it, will you be sitting there wishing you had?

Shelly – I think you should do the photo shoot. They need a sexy lady such as yourself to represent the hospital! I would love a review of the HIS Upperbody circuit! Yes, I did Boot Camp today and I absolutely loved it! It’s my favorite of the series – might be my favorite Cathe workout ever. It’s just a fun, no-nonsense workout. I can see tacking it on after a short run, or using it as a warm up for a hard core weight workout. It’s just a joy to do. I wish I could do it again today, but after all the sushi I just ate, I’d probably make myself sick! LOL.

Sunny – Yes – I like being able to work from home when necessary. It’s a good thing. And makes my life easier when a sick kid or a crazy puppy issue arises!

Well, first things first – Jimmy passed – I had no doubts that he would. He’s a very dog friendly guy. I like the new place – they really seem to care for the dogs – as if they got into the business for the dogs, not necessarily to make money. Each staff member is also a professional trainer and they work with the dogs during the day on commands. They train the dogs to listen to commands, even in the middle of rough play. The dogs only have a 1 hour nap time (Petco was 2) and they play the minute the get there until when you pick them up. It’s going to be a pain to drive there twice a week, but it’ll be worth it. (it’s not THAT far – I’m sure Carole knows exactly how long it takes to get there. :+).

Okay, and now for lunch - I’m STUFFED! This Sushi place is all you can eat, and I went with 5 guys and 1 other girl. The guys kept pushing food on us. It was sooo good, too. There’s a set menu that you order from – but the menu is great, and the variety – everything from Spicy Tuna Rolls (and many more creative rolls) to tempura and potstickers. Very good. I’m working some of that off by moving my office upstairs – and walking the stairs instead of taking the elevator while carrying my stuff. I guess I should get moving again! Enjoy!
