Cathlete
Good Morning Cheetahs...So are you all wearing green today? :7

I am hoping today is a better day work out wise for me. I am going to the gym though so I know I will get SOMETHING done atleast. lol I'll post my work out(s) later as I don't wan to jinx myself at this point!:p

I'm going to see what I can do about some personals right now...I'll be back!

Good morning ladies..

Sorry i was MIA yesterday. Just another one of those days...:) Yesterday i tried a new spin class at the gym called power ride. Wow, it was so intense yet so much fun!! I had an endorphin rush all day. The gym gave me an increase, sooooooo, I ran out and bought a bicycle, trainer and child carrier seat for ds #2. Still have to get helmets. I plan to use my bike inside and outside, can't wait!! I also went berserk and bought some new itrain workouts....

Today's workout will be HSC.

I have one client to train plus today is ds #1's football game. We are having some friends over tonight for food, movies and games:7 .

wendy- today WILL be a better day. did you get in your spin class yesterday?

Hello and Happy Weekend to all the cheetahs:)

Friendes-
It is a sad time right now. A very close friend of ours has passed. The hardest part is that DH was his cardiologist. This friend cardiac arrested at home. I got the call and notified my DH at his office who left his office and rushed to the Emergency room accross town. They tried everything to save him. He was extremely close with DH. DH is truly devastated that he could not save his buddy. There is more to the situation, but this gives the general picture.

We were all supposed to watch basketball together last night. Instead we gathered and began to grieve.

I don't really know what we will do today, but our group will be together.

For those of you who have been around a couple of years; These are our friends who lost their 9 year old daughter in Feb 05'. She was their only child. I believe he was ready to be with his daughter.

Judy "Likes2bfit"

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

Judy: Ya know now that you mention it, I haven't been getting the sleep that I am used to. I guess that is probably part of it. I got off schedule while DH was away. I'm going to have to work on getting back on track...Congratulations on the new addition to your family (the kitty)! ;)

Gayle: WOW! What a run y'day! Isn't Gayle great!? I love Itread! I have never even ATTEMPTED to follow the runners numbers. I can't even consistently use the high end of the jogger's numbers most of the time...I'm a slow poke!:p :7 :7 :7 COngrats on the weight loss!!!

Linda: If my Butt and Legs is any indication of what I am in for when I do my BBC rotation, OMG am I in trouble!!!! LOLOL

Carole: So have you tried BBC yet? What did you think? If you did the lower body work out you might want to wait a day before answering that question! LOLOL

Jackie: I agree. P90X is intense. It takes a lot out of you. As the weeks go on I am finding it more difficult to keep up. The tired feeling seems to compound as time goes by. I love it but I'll be glad for the "rest" when it's over....

Christine: So how do your legs feel this morning??? }(

Kristi: I heard Happy Feet is a good movie. My FIL suggested it for DS. Have fun! Keep us posted on your calf/foot issue!

Shelley: So did you actually order BBC or are you still deciding?

Susan: Hope you are having a grand time and that Mariah is feeling better!

Hey Sunny,

We were posting at the same time. I bailed on spin because of the awful weather here. For all I know the class was cancelled anyway. Congrats on your raise girl! You are kickin' some serious @ss!!! WOOH! Have fun with your new bike!!!!

Judy,

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's friend. Please pass on my condolenses. Hugs to all involved.

Wendy- i am now back in love with spinning, lol. sorry about the weather there. i have heard about it from my sister. so crazy. she is ready to pack her bags and relocate here to nc:p

judy- so sorry to hear about the loss of your family friend. (((hugs ))) to your family and his.

Good morning everyone!

Judy - I am so sorry about your friend. That is so sad. My thoughts and prayers will be with you, your DH and your friend's family.

Sunny - Congratulations on the increase! That is great! You'll have a lot of fun with the bike, trainer and carrier, I am sure! Sounds like you guys have a fun Saturday planned!

Wendy - Have fun with whatever you decide to do today! I am still torn, too. All this spinning talk is making me want to do a spinning workout! I may do that ....but maybe not...maybe elliptical....or maybe HSC....oh shoot! What to do, what to do??? I do know that I plan on MM...just don't know what cardio!

Gayle - I am with Wendy....I do the high end jogger numbers! You go girl!!!! Have the endorphins settled down yet? ;-)

Cathy - Hope you are having a fun safe ski trip! (just in the remote case you pop in ;) )

I think I am going to bite the bullet and do the year's iTrain thing. Do you guys think it would be better to do that....or ala carte?

Hi to everyone and hope everyone has a great day!!

Linda

Hey, everybody!

Judy-I am so sorry about your close friend. What a sad series of events this family has had. As you said, though, he has joined his daughter and maybe can find some peace with her. Blessings and prayers to his wife (and any other children) and you and DH. HUGS!

Wendy-enjoy the gym. I'm placing a bet you get a kick-butt workout in today. So don't make me lose my money on you! LOL KICK IT!

Sunny-your day sounds nice and quiet. Enjoy the evening!

ETA: Linda....we were typing together. I say sign up for the yearly thing! LOL. BUY IT! I DARE YA!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I'm actually trying to keep myself from buying another, lol)

ME....well, we're snowed in...rather ICED in. lol Younger DS is at a sleep-over from last night, so it's just me, older DS and DFiance's son (fiance is in charge of his township's roads, so he's been working with this weather since yesterday morning already. The boys want to go snow tubing, so as soon as I get my car out of the garage and we have breakfast, we'll hit the hills in town. NO RAMPS FOR ME...need to keep my tailbone in tact today! LOL

I was up early before the boys for today's workout: KP&C. I wanted kickboxing, but I did CK last weekend and thought a change was in order. It's done!

Have an awesome Saturday, and be safe if you got weather like me!

Gayle

Hi, just a hater joining the cheetahs to hug Judy and THE ED. How hard to be a friend's doctor and lose that friend. I can't even imagine. Double hugs.

Good morning cheetahs

http://bestsmileys.com/stpatricsday/1.gif[/img]

Wendy..I think I have worn green the last 3 days! I think I might try the Full Body BBC today.

Sunny...sounds like a great spin workout.

Linda...I did the year iTrain. I think it is definitely worth it, and makes the workouts very inexpensive. I am thinking about some of the iStretches next.

Jackie...I have done Freestyle before and liked the results. I will try a BBC today!

Gayle...congrats on the weight loss!! I enjoy the reverse lunges also. Good job with KPC, that is a fun one. Enjoy the snow.

Christine..how are those burning legs this morning? So you liked the pilates ring? Yes, you need a foam roller!! And they are inexpensive and so worth it.

Kristi..I think the Dr appt might be a good idea to check out your foot. I know how it feels to be not running like you wanted...Enjoy the movie if you decide to go...:)

Shelly...I guess the class is something you must do every year. But I can only see you as not liking to sit down all day!! Your trip to Montauk sounds good. Yoga on the beach would be so fun. That would be so cool if you could meet up with Wendy and Cathy too. I cannot believe how much the foam roller has helped. Well, you know I want to run far on sunday but I am sure that would not be a good idea. How did the turf turn out?

Judy..I am so sorry about your friend. How devastating to loose a daughter so young and now him. My thoughts and prayers for all of you during this tough time... I am with you on the results from the foam roller. It helps tremendously! Good job on your workout yesterday.

Robin....you are a true sweetie...:)

I am going to check out the FullBody BBC today. The foam roller has really helped my sore parts! I know I need to keep it up every day...

Have a great day..:)

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day all!!!

DH is taking DD17 to her exams so that she doesn’t get too stressed finding parking and all that. We’ll probably go to the gym when he gets back (can’t be out on the trails when DD17 calls to be picked up!). Tomorrow will be a hike, though. And YES I do have a major case of DOMs for all of those inquiring minds – in my glutes and hams the most! Busy day for me – workout, groceries, get my nails and toes done, and then the charity event. Not sure what I’m going to wear - maybe the new sari DH brought me from India– it’s black and red – very dramatic.

Judy – I’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s passing. You, your DH and your friend’s wife will be in my thoughts and prayers. {{{HUGS}}}

Wendy – I’m with you on the iTreads – I cannot follow the higher numbers for the iTreads and even some of the jogger’s numbers get me. But I still enjoy doing the best I can! I’m really interested in hearing how you like BBC. I cannot get it yet, but I’m looking seriously.

Sunny – Congrats on the raise AND the new bike, trainer and seat! Let me know how you like it on the trainer! There is nothing like a good spin class to get those endorphin’s rushing all over the place. That Power Ride class sounds great!

Linda – I do the monthly iTrains. And I don’t use all of my credits – I think I have something like 12 credits right now! I’ll download some – like the new iRow – before the gym today.

Gayle – have fun tubing! And yes, stay off those ramps!! :+

Robin – love your signature! We love to see you here to comfort a Cheetah.

Carole – oh yeah, I’m breaking down and buying one of those foam rollers. I really cannot believe how great I felt after class and I’m convinced that I would be a lot more sore if I hadn’t used it. I’m not sure about the pilates ring. I think I’d use it in class, but wouldn’t buy one myself. I think you could get the same benefits with a medicine ball and a DynaBand.

Good morning cheetahs! It's a beautiful Saturday here and the temps will reach 80 again!! (Sorry Gayle) I'll be heading out soon for my long run. A trail around a local lake. It's really quite beautiful and I think I'll take my camera so I can post a pic. Today will be 12 miles. I'll try to get in some yoga later and of course, the foam roller!

Christine- Another foam roller convert? It really does the same as a deep tissue massage.... a very good pain! I'm impressed that the Pilates class made you sore.... there must be something to it! (I've never tried it but now I'm intrigued:eek: )

Wendy- I'll be going out later for a motorcycle ride with DH and his Harley is green.... does that count?:p Hope your day is better motivation wise! I haven't received BBC yet and it will probably be delayedx( When ordering they indicatd it would be sent via UPS so I gave them my physical address, but then they changed it and I found out it was sent by the post office, which does not deliver to my housex( (I'm too far out in the boonies) So I'm trying to straighten out the mess now!

SunnyD- Your power ride class sounded awesome! It must have been something to motivate you into your bike buying frenzy!!! Now you and Christine can happily chat about your spinning adventures:)

Judy- How terribly sad about losing your friend, especially for your DH!!! As his physician it must have been a double whammy for him!! I am truly sorry and offer my biggest cyber{{{{hug}}}}I can give!!!

Linda- Oh no, now getting into the iTrains? A whole new world of workouts for you now! }( I think they are a great investment, you'll be hooked!

Gayle- Hope you have a great time snowtubing! Sounds fun:7

Carole- The artificial grass I helped lay out yesterday at my parents place looks great! Very practical here in the high dry desert.... I'm considering getting some for our place now. Since you are getting some great results from the foam roller I think another week of abstaining from strenuous runs would be a good idea.

Well, DH is up and anxious to go. He is dropping me off for my run while he goes to the flea market... he loves those!

ShellyC

Shelly- enjoy your run! Sounds lovely!! I wanted to chime in to say that it was B&G Leg Blast Premix (the "Oh No! Not THAT Again! premix :+) that kicked my booty. The pilates class simply added insult to injury... LOL. It was a good class - level 2 - but pilates is kind of like yoga to me - a wonderful thing to do for your body as it works it very differently - but not a sub for weight work and cardio.

Good morning everyone and Happy St. Patty's Day!

Jess - Hope you enjoyed the family.

Gayle - Congrats on the 4 lbs.!! Know you have to feel really great. Thanks for your freestyle insight! May look into doing that sometimes for a change. Hope you're not iced in for too long.

Christine - Good job on B&G. I bought new bands to try out with those firewalkers. I wasn't feeling them with my old one.

Linda - I haven't done any of the iTrain strength workouts. I just keep thinking I need visual in front of me. I may at least give it a try. I gave my daughter a year's membership at the $49.99 rate. It's not so painful that way. I like the workouts so much though I may keep it.

Kristi - Glad you have an appointment to check your foot out. Hope it feels better. Glad it's not interfering with your running.

Shelly - Glad you made it through your classroom day and you managed to get a workout in. I'll have to check out those Fox River socks. I bought a couple of pair of Dr. Scholl's at Wal-Mart. They felt pretty good but not like the Balega. This week was a week of easy runs. The mileage picks up again next week. Hope you enjoyed your run!

Judy - Glad you're seeing some improvement. Good luck with the new kitty. So sorry to hear about your friend. How sad. Will keep his family and yours in prayer.

Susan - Hope Mariah is better. It's good to have a good friend to depend on. Enjoy your weekend with dh!

Wendy - No green here - not yet anyway. Hope you get a nice workout in. Be sure and rest if you feel like it with P90X. Don't want to discourage you but I ended up with the flu after it. I hadn't had the flu since high school. I had the aches, chills, headaches and loss of appetite but no coughing or stuffiness. I only did it for 2 months. I didn't listen!!!!! So, please listen to your body.

Sunny - That was quite a spin class. Nothing like a good endorphin rush. Congrats on the gym increase!

Carole - Interested in knowing how you like iStretch if you decide to give them a try. Will have to read up on the freestyle some more to see how to work it into a rotation. Glad the roller is helping.

I did a 3 mile run outside in 27:13. They're getting easier. It was 30 degrees. Dressed appropriately. So, it wasn't bad at all. I walked another mile after that and came home and did Firm Power Yoga. Will probably use the foam roller a little later today.

Enjoy your Saturday ladies!

Jackie

Hey Ladies!

No time for personals at this moment as my tummy is a-growling so I need to feed pronto :9 but I wanted to report in with my work out.

DH and I went to the gym this morning and I worked my legs on the machines and used the assisted chin up machine all in lieu of doing Legs and Back. I then did 25 mins of Itread set 11/40 mins which is the one I had to walk alot of last time. I was fine this time. I had to cut it short due to time constraints though. No biggie. When I got home I did ARX. }( I am all caught up now. Tomorrow I will do yoga and then it's on to week # 11!!!! I can't believe it! :D :+ :7 }(

Okay, off to find some grub...I'll check back in later w/personals!:+

Hmmm...quick question....I tried to purchase the yearly membership for iTrain and it did not send me a confirmation, or anything (not even a "thank you". I clicked on my account and my "plan" and it is showing ala carte with 0 credits. Did any of this happen to any of you? I sent them an e-mail...but have yet to hear anything.

I'll be back a little later...after I try to figure this one out. ;(

Linda

Linda,

I've never purchased anything but alacarte work outs from them. I hope they do right by you. Keep us posted.

Hello Cheetahs,

I know I havent' posted here for a long time but I lurk now and again.

Judy I saw your sad post.

My deepest sympathy for you and your husband.

My prayers for his wife as well.

Love to all.

Colleen

PS I ran 3 miles today and it felt great.

Linda...Yes, iTarin did that to me when I purchased the year membership too. They will answer your email and get it straightened out.

Christine...interesting as I was reading Fitness magazine today. They have an article on the foam roller and how it can help with cellulite just like a deep tissues massage does. They say to try for 20-30 min 4 times a week. I think I am doing about 10 min a day. If you have a Target, they have a good price on it. Thanks for the info on the ring.

Shelly...we got to 90!!! Good luck on the 12 miles, and it sounds like a lovely course. I might go about 4 or 5 miles tomorrow after warming up on the EXT. But I am planning on taking it easy. The only pain when I run is deep in my ham/glute.

Jackie...if you get the time try a search on the forum for "Freestyle" they were many threads awhile back. I might have a rotation somewhere. I am just kind of winging it right now. Doing standing legs 3 x a week and floor legs 2 x a week. I am happy the runs are getting easier for you.

Wendy..great job with the iTread workout.

Colleen...HI! Good job on the 3 mile run...;)

WOW!!! BBC Fullbody was tough! I never knew 1-2 min could be so loooooooooong. And doing the alphabet for your abs!...YEOW! Not a real long workout but hey, I was sweating....:)

Well, I got it to show my year membership, finally....now I hope they don't double bill me:-( Hopefully it will be okay!

Carole - I agree....it was tough :) The alphabet soup was a killer! Don't ya just love Barry's evil laugh? }( I heard about that article on the cellulite! I don't know if I could roll on the roller for that long! It can be painful...but it sure does the trick!

Colleen - Good to hear from you again! Good job on the 3 miles!

I ended up doing MM and spinning with CC#2 Revised. It was a lot fun. I really should spin more often. It could save a lot of wear and tear on my poor old body, but still give me on heck of a workout! Thanks for everyone putting the idea back into my head :7
