:::CHEETAHS::: Get it started Sunday!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Once again, MIA Cheetah reporting for duty. I don't have too much time this morning (have to be to work early) so I'll try to catch up as much as I can. Between all of the shoveling, work, and getting the chance to spend some extra time with SO, the past three days have just been non-stop.

I never was able to get in that run Friday because the snow just got too bad too fast and it was more important to me to get in, get the barnwork done, and get home ASAP. However, I would consider the four rounds of shoveling that I did enough of a workout :). I did do my little LIC/DM mish mosh again (it's a neaky little calorie burner!) Saturday, plus one more round of shoveling at home, plus more shoveling at work. I wanted to get a run in yesterday too but there just wasn't time. I'm going to try again today to get 3-4 miles in at work before the clients get there. If not I'll try to squeeze in 4DSKB and KM Low Impact premix tonight.

Cathy - I hope you made some good headway yesterday. I don't envy all that grading you have to do ont top of the boards. So what workout did you pick yesterday?

Sunny - I had trouble getting back into the swing of things, too, when I got back. It felt like I was playing catch-up ALL week. I know you'll be back full steam before long!

Wendy - Sorry to hear that little bit o' crud is still hanging on for dear life :(. I hope you had a nice time at dinner last night...LOL about not ordering the worst thing on the menu!

Lori - ITA about weekends!!! In fact, I *HATE* weekends x(. Those have been some serious workouts that you've logging lately !

Jackie - Still sending {{{{{HEALING VIBES}}}}} your way! You are very wise to reat right now and let your body heal itself. I hope you found what you were looking for with regards to the countertop. I hope you enjoyed your chill day with DBF!

Carole - Mmmmmmmm, avacado :9 :9! Thanks for making me hungry...of course, it doesn't take too much to do that to me! WOW on your wild weather...I hope that lets up soon! I wish I had the time to get over to Facebook but, as it is right now, I barely have time to visit my favorite bunch of ladies here!

Christine - Um, can I join the Clean Cheetahs too...pretty please :p :p??? I NEED to get it back together after the last two days ! I won't even tell you what I've been eating because I'm too embarrassed x( :(. Was DH able to get out on time last night? I hope you guys survive all that rain and wild weather out there.

Lorie - Glad to hear that you're still pain free!

Dallas - Wow, great KB/legs mish mosh yesterday! I might have to try that one soon!

Judy - I was thinking about you with all the snow we got. No, Mass (and it's drivers...there's a reason why they are called Massholes) have NO CLUE how to handle snow! Had to LOL about the warm up you're DS's team got! Congrats to them on their win. Hey, if you had a band with you I had a killer hotel room workout for ya ;)!

Kristi - I'm so sorry to hear about DS health issues. Sending lotsa {{{{{{{{{HEALING VIBES}}}}}}}}}}} his way!!!!!

Shelly - I hope your stretch at work goes smoothly!

Waves to Linda and Posh!!!!

Okay, that's all I have time for right now. I hope to have some sort of workout to rep[ort to ya all later. Ciao for now!

Good morning all! I never was able to post yesterday, work was screamin busy and I was lucky to grab a toilet run in:eek: Anyway, tonight's been much more mellow :) Nothin to report for yesterday
workout wise anyway... took a complete and total rest day:7
I'll be doing a 3 mile tempo run when I get home and hopefully when I get up some ab/core work if I have time.

Hi Wendi! Sounds like you've had alot of Shovelmax lately! Hope it slacks off a bit at work for you today and you can get in your workouts that you want.

Well, at least this morning i have time for a brief post anyway...
waves hi to all the cheetahs!

Good morning, cheetahs!
http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_sunshine-1.gif

Up and at ‘em early…lots to tackle today! Workout-wise, I will probably go with iBiClimb after Lorie’s stellar review the other day. Also have to run out to Target and pick up a scrip and some other odds n’ ends. Other than that, the blinders are going on and it’ll be all NB stuff today plus the usual mundane tasks to get ready for the week.

Yesterday I did HSC & Winsor Pilates Ab Sculpt (1st time on the latter). Curiously, I had to stop 3x during HSC b/c I felt like I was gonna puke. Weird. Am enjoying some nice booty DOMS today, though.

Sunny :: YEAH! So glad you’re done with the ‘tane. http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_icon_dance.gif It didn’t take long to get back to normal – maybe a couple of weeks. I kept using the Aquaphor on the lips for a little while…I’m in awe of how heavy you and Christine are going with your kb’s. Looking forward to hear what you think of the new vids. Hope to try one or two of my unopened vids this week.

Wendy :: well, of course, I think it’d be GREAT if you take a love to skiing :), but naturally, I understand it’s not for everybody. How’s the throat today? And how was dinner?

Lori :: sorry you have to work both weekend nights. Hope you are getting your scheduling issues straightened out…rock on, you speedster, you!

Jackie :: I am with you on the sheer terror in driving when there’s ice. I’m glad the Tamiflu’s working for you and you felt a little better. So you picked out your countertop yesterday? Granite—ooh la la!

Carole :: that is exactly how I’ve described Facebook – MySpace but for adults and with *very* good privacy controls. If it didn’t have that, I wouldn’t be on it! IA, it *can* be a time-sucker, but there are times when I only check on it every few weeks. So, what did you think of your new Winsors? I did the WP Abs Sculpting for the first time (I’d also ordered Buns & Thighs but have yet to try it). I liked it a lot. Thought it was challenging and unique ab work. Not sure my low back liked all of it, but I did what I could.

Christine :: Yay that you’re on Facebook!…Hope you enjoyed a nice lunch and dinner with DH before his send-off…Extreme KB sounds like a goodie. OMG, that *stinks* for your friends in Tahoe.

Lorie the WT :: http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_biggrin.gif How’d you make out with your dissertation work yesterday? I know the feeling of not wanting to work. After a jam-packed workweek, this is all I feel like doing :7 :
http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_BellyButtonLint.gif

Dallas :: sorry about the mid-workout headache! As mentioned ^^^, I had some issues yesterday during my w/out, too.

Wendi :: four rounds of shoveling is indeed a workout! Hope today's workday is positive and productive and affords you the opportunity to get in your workout as you want to do it.

Shelly :: glad tonight things have been slower for ya.

Warm hello's to everyone else...enjoy your Sunday...will BBL.

Good Morning Girls.

Dinner last night was nice. I don't see those ladies very often. Actually as far as one of them goes...I prefer it that way! I know that sounds mean but trust me, she can be very hard to LIKE. x(

Tonight we are going to my FIL's for dinner...homemade ravioli.:9 GREAT! Just what I need on the heels of getting positive results from the first phase of the X+ rotation! The timing is always the worst for this kind of stuff! x(

I have yoga X on tap for today and may add a bit of extra cardio to it in light of the 2 bad dinners 2 nights a row this weekend...

Not much else going on besides sitting in the quiet drinking my java! :)

BBIAB!

wendi-i am so glad to still be pain free! i think shoveling really can count as a w/o. i am always reading how certain "daily activities" shoudl be thought of as working out. i would definitely think shoveling snow is one of them!!! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_4_5.gif

shelly-sorry work was so busy yesterday. glad you had a quieter night last night. did you enjoy your rest day? i didn't think our superwoman cheetah took rest days! you always seem to go go go!

cathy WT-yeah, the dissertation work. ummm...let's just say it didn't really get done. i need to crack down, but i have been so wiped out from work this week, i sat down to do some work this weekend and had zero desire or motivation. knowing me, it will hit me and i will hunker down and just do what i need to do in a weekend(kind of like i did with my comprehensive exams). then, i can submit that and wait for comments. ugh...it's such a pain. this was me yesterday: http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_17_1v.gif

wendy-i don't think what you said was mean. i think we all have "friends" like that! enjoy that raviolli tonight! yum! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_51.gif

i am not sure what my workout will be. my hip flexors are a bit sore (not sure why) and i am really trying to listen to my body. i may just do yoga. magically hips would be good. maybe something light.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...That is bizarre about thinking you were going to puke during HSC?...Are you feeling okay this morning? I like the new WP's I got. I did the buns and thigh sculpting (it was a good burner) and the Ab sculpting probably the same one as yours. Good for not a heavy workout. Hopefully Christine, Dallas and Lori will join us on Facebook...:)

Wendy...sounds like dinner was good and homemade ravioli tonight!! Yum...it is so true that the timing sucks with the eating sometimes. Enjoy yoga and maybe some cardio today.

Christine..did DH get off on his trip okay? Glad you have a Facebook account! I will run today but it seems the winds will only be about 20 mph and I can handle that with the rain! I hope your co workers in Tahoe are alright. Is the weather bad there too? I bet that fiery fruit salad would be great with Quorn products!

Lorie...no, I missed the rain for my friday run. I was saying I don't especially mind running in the rain but when you add high wind it sucks....so now today will be a wet and windy run but the winds are not bad...so far...:)...enjoy yoga today.

Dallas...Core Syn is tough. I can do it fine regularly in a rotation but when I pull it out once in awhile...WOW...humbled is the right word! Sounds like a good workout yesterday with 4DS kb, KPC and L&G! Are you going to do any kind of freestyle rotation since you are getting the book?

Wendi...glad you got in your LIC/DM mish mosh! I can actually hear the wind now and it is a bit after 6 Am...my run should be interesting to say the least...:)..If you ever do get any time in the future Facebook really is fun...

Lori...great cardio workout yesterday. I think I found you on Facebook. I did try and add you as a friend.

Shelly...you know what I always say, rest days are good!! Enjoy your tempo run and ab/core work.

So I will do my e-cises and head out for a wet run. I am meeting my friend and my sister and hope to get in 6 mostly pain free miles...:)

Have a great day...

Good Morning Cheetahs!:)

Sounds like everyone is off to a great Sunday! I never heard anyone mention church! hehe:) Im not one to talk...not that spirtual anymore. Well...I am but not what my parents would like. I grew up pentecostal and we went to church 3x's every sunday! I hated sundays and fell asleep numerous times in church! Anyway...enough about that!

Im suppose to take a rest day but I feel rested enough to do something. I have no other plans for the day so a workout is in order. I have to be at work again tonight and I am goping for a quiet night. I haven't had one yet this weekend so maybe the 3rd night is a charm!

Wendi** Good job on catching up there! Are you working all weekend as well? You usually do in your business.

Shelly** Sorry to hear your so crazy busy! Are you working this weekend as well? Do you have anymore working plans in order?

Wendy** I know what you mean about not wanting to spend time with certain people. There are a few people around like that and you just learn to avoid them BUT when they are family you kind of cant! LOL And yes, pasta is perfect for your P90X rotation:)

Lorie** Good job on the workout! And happy working out today!

Carole** I will have to look to see if you added me. I would imagine there are a few with the same name. My profile pic as a little boy looking through the window...not me. Enjoy your run!

Cathy** Enjoy your workout today! Seems like I had something else to say to you but I can't remember what it was! hehe

BBL girls!

Lori

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Well, no damage so far, and the winds have been BLOWING! It woke me up around 4AM. But I snuggled under the covers and went back to sleep. I wonder how my friends in Tahoe are doing! DH’s flight did take off, so he’s on his way, so it’s a quiet day today. I’ll do BMax 2 scrambled eggs on the BOSU then probably work on the chores that never seem to get done like cleaning out drawers and washing rugs, etc. Adding more fat to my diet seems to be working well, so I’m excited to be back on track again.

Wendi – You never get a chance for down time do you? Have you heard anything yet? Hope you get your run in today! Of course you can join the clean eating challenge! Yeah, DH was able to take off. Just me, DD15 and the dogs now. :p I won’t ask you what you ate, because I KNOW what I ate and I don’t want to share either! Lol.

Shelly – Glad tonight was much more mellow. Sorry life is so crazy for you now! Hope it slows down soon! Enjoy your run and your ab work!

Cathy – Oh wow! That’s odd about feeling like you were going to puke while doing HSC. Hope you don’t feel that way again today! Not fun! We had a nice lunch – went to Maggiano’s for salad and calamari (my only bad thing yesterday – he ate most of it). I felt bad because I made the waitress send back the salad because it had bacon on it, but she was really good about it, and didn’t charge us (we did offer to pay as it was our fault, not theirs). I’m surprised at how many of my friends are on Facebook. It’s fun.

Wendy – sounds like a good time! Isn’t there always one person who makes the rest of the group tedious? Oh, can I come to dinner? That sounds delicious!!! Enjoy Yoga X and your extra cardio!

Lorie – So glad you are pain free!! Enjoy your Magically Hips date with Eoin! I may add him to my day as well. Sounds really good.

Carole – You are the WOMAN! I would not be out running in this weather. We’re having burst of wind that are higher than 20 mph here, but even that is too much for me – I’m a wuss!! Tahoe is supposed to get between 32 to 40 inches of snow yesterday and today, and the winds above 7000 feet (lake level is 5000, so that’s really only in the mountains) are expected to get above 100 mph in gusts. Enjoy your run! Say hi to Sis for me!

Lori – Here’s hoping for a quiet night at work for you. Enjoy your workout! Nice run yesterday! Yeah, no snow here – it has snowed in San Jose before, but that was about 40 years ago. So, it’s doesn’t happen too often. It wasn’t as bad as it was supposed to be, so that’s good.

Dallas – Iron Core drives me nuts because of the 30 second breaks. I usually fast forward through them. Neither Kettlebell Goddess nor Extreme Kettlebell has those pauses. In fact Extreme is a little fast – you do need a good foundation to do this one, but if you do Iron Core, you have that foundation. I just don’t understand why these videos have to be so darned expensive. They are definitely not higher quality than Cathe’s productions! Then, get rid of the Squat rack – that’s a no brainer – except – do you want to use it for STS or are you going to stick with lighter weights?

Sunny – which KB workout did you do yesterday and what did you think? I’m in the market for another one… :p

Oh my – I did some browsing yesterday after lunch. The clothes this year are sooo cute! I’m so happy to see that! I was tired of vamp look. Now I need to double my efforts to drop this weight so I can wear all the cute things!

Good Afternoon Girls. :)

Well I decided to resist the call of cardio and so I actually proceeded to do all, and I mean ALL, of Yoga X! :+ It's tough to get through both mentally and physically but I'll tell ya, I feel great now that it's done!!! I think I've actually only done it in it's true entirety maybe one or 2 other times! I really need to try and do it more often. I mentioned to Cathy in other check-in that we post in that I am seriously considering cutting my cardio back to 2x per week for phase 2 of the X+. If I do that, I will be able to do yoga only one day every week as it was meant to be. I should be more apt to complete it that way. That's why I finished it today atleast!:)

K, that's enough rambling on THAT topic! LOL

So my DH is becoming quite the enabler! He just told me this morning about a race he heard about from a guy at work. Apparently in LBI (long beach island) there is a race at the beginning of October that runs the length of the island...that's 18 miles! He says I should seriously consider doing it because it's in between a half which I've done and a full which I ultimately want to do! I am seriously considering this now BUT it's going to mess up my NROL4W rotation plan!!!!x( Now what!?!? HELP! I hate when this happens...just when I think I've got it all figured out something else tempts me!!! GRRRRR! What do you ladies think I should do???

Wendi: You are just non-stop! Do you, Shelly or Cathy ever take a breather!? You are all energizer bunnies in your own ways! :)

Shelly: So do you think you'll be in PA by the end of September? Do I even have to explain why I am asking?? }( ;) :7

Cathy: Can't wait to hear what you think of BiClimb Boot Camp. I have that one but haven't done it in ages so I can't remember it! LOL
Last night my throat was bothering me alot and it's always bad overnight but so far today it's been pretty good so hopefully this is a sign of a good trend!

Lorie: So what was your work out today? This gal that I don't like very much is my step-sister. My dad remarried after him and my mom got a divorce. The woman he married has 2 girls (twins) and this girl is one of them. I like the mom (my step mom) and the other twin isn't bad but this girl can just be so darned obnoxious! UGH! x( I don't feel too bad though cause lots of people in my dad's family were not fond of her...including my father. The other sister is a nice girl. Not a problem but this one....ACK! LOL

Carole: Hope your run was pain free! How wet are we talkin' here? That's dedication!:) I resisted the call of the unschduled cardio. I'm so proud of me!;)

Lori: Actually I think there are quite a few Cheetahs who attend Church every Sunday. I don't happen to be one of them but that's okay! :p

Christine: Ofcourse you can come to dinner! The more the merrier! My crazy italian inlaws always cook enough food for an army 10x larger then the amount of people they actually have to feed so there is plenty! Bring your entire family! ;) I'm glad to hear there hasn't been any damage from the winds. I hope it stays that way. High winds are scarey...especially when accompanied by lots of rain. Sounds like increasing your healthy fat intake is working well for you. Keep it up! :)

Looks like I'm all caught up and now I must get in the shower. We have to leave here in about an hour!

I'll peek back in before leaving if I have time!

BFN!:+

Morning Ladies!

Today is a rest day. :) The concert was great and our seats were unbelievable. Dh got some great shots on his iPhone. I'm waiting for him to send them to me via e-mail. Guess what happened...my friend and I left to use the restroom during a new song. I figured that was the best time to go....WRONG!! The lady standing next to me, not only got to hold Bon Jovi's hand, he kissed her hand too!!!! UGH! DH was sure to capture it all! :( The same thing happened at a Tim McGraw concert. Boo hoo! ha ha! Daughtry was great too!

Wendi ~ I think your shovelmax would definitely qualify for a workout!! That's a lot of shoveling. I reread what I wrote about the workout I did. I did all the L&G standing exercises, but stopped at the ankle weight portions because of time. I wanted to get the neck e cises in as well.

Cathy ~ You still were able to finish the workout?!?! How are you feeling today? Good luck with your NB stuff today! I have some reading and note taking to do myself.

Wendy ~ Yum! Homemade ravioli!! Enjoy! It IS tough trying to get it all (the cardio, weights, abs, stretching) in each workout. I always think doing shorter cardio would solve that problem, but still can't give up the hour cardio. Hmmm. I've gotten better though. ;-)

Lorie ~ Cute emoticons! Have fun with Eoinn! ;-)

Carole ~ Funny you ask about a Freestyle rotation. My plan was to start a P90X rotation, but then had that neck flare up. I *think* it's on the mend again. Is it possible to incorporate Freestyle w/P90X? That might make for some long workouts, huh? I forgot to PM you y-day...I didn't realize how late it got. We had to leave for dinner before the concert. Have fun running with you friend and sister. :)

Lori ~ What kind of workout are you going to do? I may do some stretching and definitely the e cises for my neck. It's a rest day, but that's low key.

Christine ~ I FF through the breaks as well on IC. I'll be checking out those other workouts. Glad they move faster. Have you heard anything else about Amy's KB workout? Yeah, that's why I don't want to get rid of the squat rack. I want to see the STS workouts first. ;-)

Shelly ~ Enjoy your run and ab work! Hope work is better tonight!

I have to leave for DD's soccer game...where's does the time go!??!?!

Hi to the rest of the Cheetahs!

ETA: to fix some typos!

Lori...there were 2 on facebook with your name, I sent the 1st request to the wrong one, so I just sent the request again to the right one...:).(thanks for the pic info)...I go to church every Saturday and have for about 7 years...:)...could never go on sunday as that is when Football is on!!! Did you decide to workout?

Christine..it did get very windy here, and is nasty now, but for my run it was not too bad. Glad to hear your DH got off alright on his flight. WOW, Tahoe sounds like a disaster. I hope your co-workers get back safely. Enjoy Scrambled eggs on the Bosu and chores. Glad to hear the diet is going well again..

Wendy...way to go on completing ALL of P90X Yoga! I have done parts but not the whole thing in a long time. My run was just about all pain free!! It was windy and raining off and on during the run.

Dallas..Sounded like a great concert....so sorry Bon Jovi didn't kiss your hand and I am sure he would have chose you if you were there!! Yes you can incorporate freestyle with P90X but both will be quite the time hog. Hope you have fun at DD's soccer game.

I ended up running 7 miles. I felt the hip just off and on after about 5 miles. I rolled my legs out very good when I got done with my foam roller. Went out to breakfast with DH, and now I am just staying warm inside while the winds howl all around us! Doing laundry too...:)

Hello again, cheetah babes!

Well, I kinda goofed with iBiBootCamp…I knew it was supposed to be a 60 min. workout but didn’t realize there were two phases to the download, and I guess I’d only uploaded one to the iPod. Was confused when it ended so soon. Went back to the PC and tracked down the other half of the workout. At that point, I decided I’d gotten a solid enough workout and will upload the other phase for next time. Great stretches at the end, and I really liked working out with both Keith and Grace at the same time. Anyway, a few minutes of relaxation to catch up here, and then I’ll dive back into the NB writing. It’s been a productive day, but I did break out for a bit to catch a matinee. It was a nice break.

I still have all those short stories to grade, but I finished all of the poems and most other preparations for the week, so I'm chippin' away nicely here. I figure I can knock out a little at a time during the week and maybe even take some work for the 5-6 hour drive up to Vermont this Thursday.

Onto personals...

Lorie :: Oh, I so know how you feel!...Veg time is absolutely necessary. With the intense writing, I find that I have to walk away for a bit and then come back to it.

Carole :: I’m assuming it was something I ate that just didn’t sit right with me?? I don't know 'cause I don’t usually have a puke-y feeling during workouts. Has happened on a couple of runs before but not in a long time. Just a fluke, I'm sure.

Lori :: Nope, not a church-goer here, but I am quite comfortable in my faith nonetheless.

Christine :: mmm, calamari! My stomach’s growling now. :) DH should be landing soon, right? I think it’s fascinating how you lose an entire day when travelling to Australia. *lol* about the vamp look...I am actually sort of dismayed by the styles I’m seeing—-all those billowy, maternity-look tops!

Wendy :: glad you don’t have to see your obnoxious step-sis too often…you’d think people would mellow out with age…the 18 miler sounds like a great opportunity for you. Go for it! I imagine it wouldn’t be too hard to twist Shelly’s arm on that one. :7

Dallas :: Glad you had a blast at the concert! Oh man, what a near-miss with JBJ!!! What, were you in the front row?…Yeah, I finished the workout. I didn’t want to quit altogether, but I had to pause until the feeling passed. It was weird. I feel fine today. Think maybe it was something I ate.

OK, ladies...have a great night!

Hello friends….

My apologies for being so absent and non-personal posting, but I’ve had quite the time of it for a few days and have been fairly upset. Last Wednesday, along with my standard oil change, I had a differential oil change (on the rear end) of my vehicle – a 4wheel drive Yukon XL – same as a Suburban….anyhoo, whatever the mechanic did, it must not have sealed properly and all the differential oil must have been leaking out casing my rear end to start seizing up on me whilst traveling down Interstate 80 yesterday (Sat). It was an extremely scary situation as I was in the fast lane approaching a semi truck AND I had my 2 dogs in the car with me. Weeeeeeaaaalll, suddenly the loud awful feeling like I’d blow out a tire and then maybe 2 tires occurred and it was really hard to get the car over 2 lanes safely to the shoulder, but I did and was shaking like a no other. I could have collided with the semi and car while trying to brake and keep control my vehicle! I immediately turned off the motor and checked the tires but they were fine but there was a very bad odor (from the burned up ground up parts in my rear end)…. My DD came immediately in her car to get the dogs as I was scared someone would hit my car on the freeway and kill my dogs right in front of me, and then my DH arrived and waited an hour and a half with me for the tow truck. After my car was on the flatbed we could see the oil all over the rear end assembly under the car…ouch….I can’t even talk to the Service department until Monday morning and I start my new job on Monday as well…ughhh…I have to fuss with renting a friggin’ car and hopefully the dealership is not going to give me any grief about the fact that this is entirely their fault and thousands of $$ of damage to my car is their responsibility! I’m sorry to be ranting now, this is why I haven’t posted because of all the stress I have endured lately and now this incident is why I can hardly speak to anyone without becoming extremely upset. I am a very good person and give a lot of myself and $$ to others so I just don’t understand why this kind of crap happens to me…. Anyway, I don’t want to drone on and be a big downer – I really just wanted to come on to say hi to my friends and let you all know why I haven’t been able to post very much lately….

Have a good Monday everyone…

Thomasina
