CHEETAHS:::Fantastic 4th!!!:::

Cathlete
Good morning ladies!

Happy 4th to everyone! So, how are we spending our holiday today? For me, I'm heading into work here in just a couple of minutes...shocker, right :p?

Took a rest day this morning as I was really tired last night during bowling (I hope Wendy does better than I did). First game was downright embarrassing but the last two games saved me, a bit :(.

Gotta run for now. I might have a chance to swing by after work. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, cheetahs! http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/unclesamsmiley.gif

Back from my run (intervals)...ba & bi to follow shortly.

Gloria ~ I know what you mean--I do really prefer to focus on just one book at a time, but I geeked out and didn't know where to start. :7...AHA! We even have favorite poisons! WT all the way! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_sarcastic.gif ...I have a low-key BBQ today, but I'm not a big 4th person. What are your plans?...Oh, I hate when something ships via USPS (sorry, Jackie!) instead of UPS. I like being able to track the package's every move. *lol*

Hi Wendi!

Good Morning Cheetahs!:)

I'm up way too early considering the fact that I didn't get to bed until 1am AND I don't have a child the house!x( I swear my body just doesn't allow me to sleep late anymore. It would have been nice to be able to snooze until 8am but no dice. UGH! I guess I might as well have another baby next year...I seem to be a pro at sleep deprivation and napping anymore. :p

Wendi: Sorry about the bummer night at bowling. I was hanging out at the lanes last night having a few beers while DH bowled. It was the most amazing evening of bowling I've ever seen! The first 2 games the other team could do no wrong. They were carrying the crappiest strikes and spares going! DH's team, on the other hand, couldn't catch a break to save thier lives. Needless to say they lost the first 2 games by a total of 150 pins. In the 3rd game the tables turned in a FIERCE way! Would you believe DH's team came back to take the third game AND wood by 260+ pins!!! I've been bowling or watching people bowl on leauges for years and have never seen anything like it. I was actually getting EXCITED when someone on DH's team would mark and I don't know these people from a hole in the wall! LOL :p I know you are workin' today bu I hope you atleast have plans to cuddle up with DSO at some point to watch a fireworks show. :) Any news on the college thing??

Jackie: Well we are not sure about A/C now but will find out this morning. Got a msg on our machine while we were out. The room that the 4 of us were going to stay in got downgraded due to the holiday crazies down there. We now all have to stay in a regular room with 2 double beds. We did it once before and it makes for a *VERY* crowded room. DH and I don't mind as beggars can't be choosers! :p We just hate putting out my mom and her BF. We are still welcome to go down but we feel bad. I am going to make a phone call this morning. Perhaps we will only go down for one night instead of the full weekend. Will keep y'all posted. Oh trust me, the guilt about the cost of the new bells went out the window on the 10 minute drive home from Target y'day! ;)

Carole: Yes, I will keep you posted on the new Tony work outs. I should get the first installment within the week. :) Enjoy your 4 days off. Anything fun planned?

Cathy: So you are playin' it low key this weekend? Not even going to a family BBQ? Haven't gotten any updates on BF lately. How far along is she? No problems with the pregnancy I presume?

Posh: I wanna come to your cook out today! Don't worry, I won't eat much. I just want the BOOZE!!!!!!!!:7

Gloria: I actually did not work as hard doing IMAX on the bosu. I was so worried about my balance that I couldn't give it as much energy so it was disappointing. I have, however, done the cardio from the high step work outs on it. Those worked out much better for me for some reason. If I nap for more then 30 minutes I end up with the grogs so I try to avoid it.

ETA: Cathy, we were posting at the same time and you answered my BBQ question so no need to answer it again. ;)

Happy 4th Cheetahs!

I love this holiday. There are no presents to stress over! And summer food is fun and of course fire works!

We are headed out to golf and then I hope to get in my NROL4W WO. Later, we will be at a freinds for a BBQ and fireworks. We may head to our old town's fireworks display; it is the best around and not far from the BBQ.

Wendy- I am sorry the rooom did not workout out for AC. I hope you can manage and win a little moola :) I am going to re evaluate my NROL4W plan after the end of stage 4, which is only 4 four more workouts. I may be ready to jump into stage 7 in two weeks time. Perhaps the third week in July? I want to be able to do CC or itreads on off days.

Wendi- I hope you have an easy work day, that is probably an oxymoron....

Cathy- enjoy your day!

Morning Judy.

My mom and her BF are scheduled to play golf this morning as well. Have fun at the BBQ later. I hope you can squeeze in your NROLW work out first.

2 weeks? Hmmm...Keep me posted just in case but I was thinking of doing a kbell rotation for a month so unless I'm dreadfully bored and looking to switch up anyway, I will probably pass on stage 7 for now. You never know though keep me in the loop anyway!:7

Good morning cheetahs and Happy 4th of July!! I as watching a wonderful fireworks display on the Delaware river from my apt last nite... I can't imagine what it will be like tonight! Won't see any of it tho as I have to work the next 3 nites... oh well!
Got back yest afternoon with plenty of time to get the kitties settled down and got in some good kickboxing with KBext.

Jackie- Guess you're enjoying a nice long holiday weekend. Thanks for your prayers re: my sis in Pakistan. Nice tough workout for you yesterday!

Christine- You will be much on my mind this weekend and wishing you the very best! I'd say you are playing it very smart tho and will be fine on your 50 miler. Very positive sign that you got thru Spinervals without any problem. So Jimmy will be at a resort and spa? LOL- what a rough life he has!

Cathy- good workout for the calves yesterday and got that core good! Love your smiley 4th of July banner today.

Wendy- All ready for your FAB-O weekend in AC? There's a Target just down the street from me here and I was eyeing those kettleballs the other week... trying to resist tho since we're taking on another mortgage now.... sigh. Sounds like you are having a great time with them. Very curious to hear how you like your new Tony workouts. Congrats to your DH on an awesome comeback win!!

Carole- woohooo- a 4 day stretch off!! Any good holiday plans? I guess alot of outdoor celebrations are curtailed somewhat in N. Calif.

Thomasina- Great to hear from you and that you're okay!! WOW, that is some cookout you're having. Sure hope the air quality improves enough to get in your long run this weekend.

Gloria- Great job in getting through that tough run yesterday. That would be great if you could get a companion for that trail run... hope it happens for you.

Wendi- Bummer you have to work today.... I hope you are getting holiday pay! Sorry it wasn't your night with bowling... I guess even the mightiest all have their off days. Gonna have some fun this weekend or is it all work?

Judy- Sounds like you are having a great traditional 4th w/ BBQ, fireworks, friends!!! Have a great golfing day and hope you get in a good workout with NROL.

In a bit I'll be doing BM2 and likely adding on the LowMax blasts.
That should tire me out enough to nap well later.

tata

Shelly

Ba & bi (via GS mish-mosh) are done.

Wendy ~ Awesome win for Sal!...BF is as fine as can be expected in the high heat of the summer...Hope you get to spend the weekend in AC as planned.

Shelly ~ maybe you can sneak out for a few minutes tonight and get a glimpse. Hope it's a quiet night otherwise for you.

Judy ~ enjoy the festivities!

Cathy...thanks re my hair...I know at some point I will get a pic taken! Good job with the interval run. Have fun with ba & bi.

Wendy...most of the 4th plans locally have been canceled including the fireworks. But I rarely went anyway!! I am going to enjoy a long workout and a nice day off!

Wendi..no 4th plans for me. Any fireworks around here are canceled, but I will enjoy a friday off work!!

Judy...enjoy your 4th BBQ and fireworks.

Shelly..you guessed it! Most all 4th plans locally are canceled. But I rarely go see the fireworks here anyway so not a problem for me. You and I can miss them together. I am looking forward to a nice friday off. Have fun with BM2 and Lowmax blasts.

Posh..thanks for checking in!! Sounds like one heckuva BBQ coming your way! I would be forced to have a margarita if I was there...:)...Eventually I will get a pic taken...:)

Gloria...I was thinking about washing my car yesterday, yeah, just thinking!! Glad you got in the 4.2 mile run. That is odd about the Chinese and how they run in their work clothes...?..I hope your friends daughter can do that trail race with you. I enjoy trail races.

I am doing Upper Body & Abs/coreX+, and a 4-5 mile run.

Have a great day cheetahs...:)

Carole ~ That's funny, I have been *thinking* about washing my car, too. :7 It is kind of a comical image to picture people running around in their work gear...I won't be catching any fireworks, either, so that makes three of us. :)...So, how good are you w/ all of Tony's hanging ab work in the + workouts? Man, is that tough stuff!...enjoy your workout! Ba & bi's were good. I'm kind of into the TT/Alwyn idea of don't do 10 exercises. Do 3-4 and hit 'em hard. Increased my weights on the bi's and really "brought" it.

OK, Lorie's asked me to relay the message that she's having the BEST time but misses all of youze and wishes you a happy 4th!

Hey Girls!

Fly by post that will probalby be the last one until I get back!

Talked to mom and bf and we are still spending the weekend in A/C as planned. Gotta jet to bowling in just a few but wanted to report my work out...

Opted out of mish-mosh due to time contraints so I did the full body KBG work out. The only thing I did was skip the power breathing and do get up sit ups and slow kb twists instead. It was a super intense work out with the double bells and the single heavier bell. I'm EXTREMELY happy with my purchases. Money well spent. I am looking forward to this next month of KB training even more so now then before! :+

That's all I have time for...Be back Sunday!

Good morning CHEETAHS! :)

Wendi: No shocker, you are our Workin' Cheetah!! Sorry bowling wasn't that great last night. Enjoy the rest day today. :)

Cathy (AKA WT/TCT): :) Ah, another tequila gal huh?! }( I think we might get into trouble if we were ever to hang out! :) LOL! Yeah, no offense to Jackie, but USPS is frustrating. I can't imagine running in work clothes either! To each there own I guess. Didn't touch my book last night. Got sucked in by the Next Food Network Star. I know, shame on me! Enjoy the BBQ. They are fun.

Wendy: My body doesn't let me sleep late anymore. In the winter I can sleep a little later though. Who wants to get out of bed when it's freakin cold out. We have had school cancelled because the wind chill was so bad that they didn't want the kids standing waiting for the bus in it. We're talking -20s. Enjoy your wonderful weekend! :)

Judy: The fourth is always a fun time! Have fun with golf and the BBQ.

Shelly: At least you got to see some fireworks. It is hard to convince my friend and her daughter to do any races. They are intimidated by them for some reason and they think I am some speedster, which I AM NOT! I try to tell them runners for the most part are really nice, compassionate people. I will try though. I like the music in BM2. Hope you have a nice nap. :)

Carole: Yeah, I always THINK about washing it, but then say to myself that it might rain so that will help. :) I like the trail races too, just have to watch for roots and rocks because I have taken my share of falls. Enjoy your workout today.

I am rethinking my rotation. I have DM on schedule, but a run the next two days in a row. I am doing my longer run on Sunday, so I think I will switch DM to tomorrow and run today. I also have to get in the abs and yoga I missed yesterday. Tonight I am going to the flyshop and we are going to have a BBQ and watch the fireworks from the porch. Should be a good time. Have a fabulous day everyone!!! :)

Good Morning Loverlies!!

This is going to be abother drive by post, I'm afraid. I just wanted to check in to see what everyone is up to. Sounds like some fun plans for the 4th! I'm kind of excited because I discovered that my back hurts worse when I do NOT workout than when I do. So, I'll be working out. I'm going to ask the front desk where I can take a short run (3-4 miles).

We had a fun day yesterday. We drove to Napa (I'm trying to figure out where all of these people are who won't be driving over the 4th due to the gas prices - they certainly we not in the Bay Area traffic was horrid!!). then met up with our friends at Acacia Winery for an afternoon tasting. That was fun. From there, we checked into out hotel - The Napa River Inn and as we got the room with the balconey, we invited everyone over for a glass of wine. Then we walked around Napa, then had a very nice dinner at a local restaurant (Paella - YUM!).

Today is a picnic at our friend's house. Then fireworks that we'll watch from our balconey. Should be fun. Have a great day everyone!! HAPPY FOURTH!!!

Christine: Sounds like you are celebrating in style! Fantastic! :) You know, I have more pains when I don't work out too. I discovered that this winter. Good excuse to work out in my opinion. Enjoy your time and fly by as you wish. :)

Hi Cheetahs!

I've actually answered a couple of posts about running and it got me to thinking about you all.

I've been MIA due to general busyness but mostly because my case of PF has taken me to runner's hell and back.

I had surgery about 6 weeks ago and I seem to finally be on the road to recovery. After ditching my original MD I found one that never once scratched his head with a perplexed look on his face.

When he told me to start exercising again, I bought a used Nordic Track TM and am up to 1 1/2 miles! Imagine that! A year an 1/2 ago I ran 26.2 with plans of going to Boston, but running 1 1/2 miles these days almost makes me cry with joy.

As I noted on one of the threads I posted to in the Open Forum, I have learned a lesson the hardest way imaginable for me. Hopefully I won't be consigned to running shorter distances but, at this point, I'm taking it a day at a time.

Anyway, thought I'd drop in to say "Hi" and see if I can catch up with what's going on with ya'll.

ELAINE!! ~ SO happy to see you post here...thank you for the update. I can only imagine how frustrating recovery has been for you. But you have such a great perspective--one reason you're so missed around here. One day, you'll get to Boston, and we'll be cheerin' for ya! :)

Christine ~ thanks for checkin' in. Chucklin' 'bout the traffic comment. Gas prices haven't unclogged Jersey roads, either. You & Ved have the best social life, for sure! :) Glad you're having a good time.

Gloria ~ I hope we can manage another cheetah GTG after Chicago. That'd be a blast. Wait, are you telling me you have klutzy tendencies? We could just have been separated at birth! *lol* I understand--sometimes I am just not in the mood to read, and mindless TV fits the bill. :)...enjoy your run followed by the BBQ & fireworks! ETA: I forgot to tell you--I thought of you this AM on my run when U2's song of your namesake came on my shuffle! Great tune! :)

I just woke from a nap (sinuses are out of control today, for some reason) and now have to get ready for the BBQ. Will touch base again tomorrow, most likely.

Happy fourth! :7

Cathy...you are right as all of Tony's hanging ab work is tough, but I think it can give you some great results of you can stick to it and I am so trying! Way to go increasing your weight on bi's. Thanks for the message from Lorie, I am glad she is having a good time.

Gloria..I have taken my share of falls on trails also. I nailed a root last year the first time on a new trail here. I bruised my ribs as I did a huge belly flop!! It about killed me to sneeze!! The things us runners must go through..:)..Enjoy the fireworks and BBQ..

Christine...Hope you get in a nice 3-4 mile run. I am so glad you are having a good time. Enjoy the fireworks.

Elaine...HI and Welcome back! I have missed you and knowing you have been through an incredible rough time with PF. Glad to hear you got through the surgery and are recovering!! Some lessons are tough to learn but live is easier when we get through them. Keep in touch..:)

So..I had a real blonde moment in my workout. I forgot to say I was doing squats and calf work too. I was planning on a pyramid squat workout. So I was planning on 80-85-90 for the weights. I put on my music did the first set and changed the weight, did the 2nd set, changed the weight and then noticed...OMG there is 100lbs on the barbell!!...I was adding a 5# plate to each side instead of a 2.5# plate! So I ended up with a pyramid of 80-90-100!!! No wonder the hills in my run were so hard!! The run was great though as this is the first real clear day we have had so far! We will be going to a BBQ at my sisters later today..

Hello Cheetahs! Happy 4th!!

Posh - Good to see you post. Sure hope the fires and smoke clear up soon so you can get out and run. Hey, don't make those drinks too stiff today. Enjoy the cookout!

Wendi - Enjoy your rest day! Sorry bowling didn't go well.

Cathy - You're not coming down on the good ol' USPS, are you? LOL!! Don't tell anybody but I use UPS sometimes too. Shhh!

Wendy - Sorry you couldn't sleep. A nap in order? Don't blame you for not wanting to be in a crowded room. Glad it worked out that you and DH can still go. Have fun!

Judy - Enjoy the BBQ and the fireworks!

Shelly - The fireworks display sounds great! Bet it was beautiful on the water. Sorry you will have to miss tonight but you got to earn those $$$ right? Have a good night at work.

Carole - Thinking about washing the car at least shows you're concerned about it. :) I think about mine a lot too until I finally get it done. Like going through those $5 car washes. They do a good job. Good job on pyramid up to 100. I bow to you girl!

Gloria - How was your run? Enjoy the BBQ and fireworks too!

Christine - Hope that back behaves. Great that you got a room with a balcony. Glad you're having fun in Napa!

Elaine - Hi! Glad you are on the mend. Good attitude about your running - nice and slow.

I was up before 6 and got in a 6 mile run and Cool It Off Express. Love running in the new neighborhood.

Enjoy your 4th festivities everyone! I'm really hungry now and have to dig up something to eat.

Jackie
