CHEETAH RUNNERS!! Thursday Aug 23

Morning, Shelly & all cheetahs to follow... :) :) :)

Glad you got us going, Shelly. :) Are you just finishing up a shift?

Posted a bunch of personals last night, so there's not much to catch up on except:

Kristi :: I just have to say, I admire that you & DH are willing to rescue and welcome adult dogs into your home and do the hard work needed to re-train them. That is not something most families with young children would take on, and I think it's just great. I hope it all works out w/ Chelsea. Keep us posted.

I started feeling a little deep-in-the-glute DOMS from Monday's workout (LL & kbox) :), so the squats, lunges, and football drills fried me right up last night. YEAH! Later today will be PUB and a run.

Have a fantastic day, cheetahs! Love yas!

PS...Where has Susan been? I don't know if her dad's still in town, but I hope she's seeing the LV discussion.

It's been a nice mellow night of work for me for a change :7 I have a couple of nights off after this too! I am so excited that some of you lovely cheetahs are seriously considering a GTG in Vegas:)

I got in a pretty good UB workout yesterday with the upperbodyblast
premix of SS. So today, it's back to some cardio and a little lower body work. I'm thinking I'll do L&G and later some cycling. Tomorrow will be my long run.

Christine- Dec 2nd is a Sunday, I hope you don't have to go to Chicago and can join us! Recovered from the jet lag yet? I was saddened to read about your friends brother. Riding a motorcycle in a heavy traffic area is definitely high risk no matter how careful you are.... which is why I don't do it!!!! I wear tons of protection no matter how hot it is too. I really should post a pic of me in all my get up!

Kristi- This is a big day for your family!!! Chelsea is one lucky dog :) I'm crossin my fingers that it will work out for you for coming to Vegas!

Cathy- I hope with all the work you've put in to this classroom location that you'll be able to stay put for a while! I am definitely staying on the strip in LV. The race headquarters are at Mandalay Bay so I'd like to stay there or possibly the Luxor but I'm flexible.

Carole- hoooooboy, your sister is like you???? Meeting you both should be a riot! How's the heel...... did you run yesterday?

Jackie- I'm surprised you didn't find the iTread21 that challenging!
You must be getting tough:eek:

Elaine- It'll be your Bday for the LV GTG????   Yes, with everything you've been through I'd say you could use the break!

Judy- Nice job with your run yesterday. Don't blame you for passing up on LV since you're going in Sept. I sure hope there will be some opportunity for us to meet up.... I'm dying to meet ya you little tennis dynamo!

Gayle- This new guy sounds promising!!! It's good you get these things out in the open to start with.... a promising and honest beginning I'd say! You'd be a riot to be with in LV.... hope it works for you financially.

Wendy- Hey girl...... I'll be back in NJ next June.... by that time you'll be whuppin my fanny in a race!

Laurie- I know plenty of doctors who are passive aggressive like that Chiropractor you're dealing with. Stick to your guns sweetie!!!!!

Okay, time to earn my pay here ;-) Hope everyone has a fabulous day!
BTW, I'll be driving to LV so I'll be happy to provide airport transportation and save costs!

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!}(

Shelly: Sounds like your LV plan is coming together nicely! I'm extremely jealous but hope it works out and y'all have a BLAST!!!:) I look forward to whooping your butt in a race next June. ;) :7

Cathy: Sorry for making you sleepy yesterday. LOL I actually never really napped though. I laid down but never got to sleep b/c that's when the argument started with my friend. UGH!

Amy: Why are you apologizing for starting the Cheetah thread? 2 people start threads often. It's no biggie. Cathy and I both started the other check in we post in the other day. Makes it more interesting! LOL

Okay, I did ISculpt #8 y'day. Well, MOST of it. The break down is standing legs, upper body, core, floor legs, cool down. I started it so late that I ran out of time so I had to skip the floor leg work. I am hoping to do it today at some point along with my run though. }( It was better then #6 but #1 was still better and the circuit work out which is #12 is the best so far. :)

So this afternoon I am taking DS to my mom's for the night so I can hang out with the boys at the bowling alley again. }( I'm lookin' forward to relaxing and having some laughs with them. Now don't take this the wrong way when I say it}( but...I just LOVE men!:+

Okay, I'll be back later chickies!:*

LV GTG folks: I've checked into hotel rates, and the Luxor seems to be one of the more reasonable on-Strip picks. I don't know where it is in relation to Mandalay, but I can picture it at the end of the Strip, near the Monte Carlo, where I'd previously stayed. If two people share a room, a Saturday through Tuesday stay would be $176.32 pp.

Gayle:: You mentioned you were thinking about it, so I thought I'd share the flight info I've found. $204 RT through United, nonstop flights. Leaves Saturday 7:50 am - gets into LV at 10:13 am. Departs LV on Tues at 2:35 pm and lands in Philly at 10:18 pm.

Shelly:: *lol*...Yeah, I hope I get to stay put in this room! With four moves in six years, though, my track record ain't too hot! *lol* Enjoy L&G and some cycling.

I forgot to add...

Amy :: don't feel bad - I started a duplicate thread today, too, so we actually had three going. *lol* Have fun on the field trip today. I hear you on the 4:30 am workouts. I have not managed to pull that off too often myself.

Wendy :: I didn't nap, either, but DM did wipe me out...So everything's cool w/ your friend again?...The comment that you love men made me laugh...I used to teach on a team with an older guy whose full name is Richard, who was just this great, easy-going guy. One day, one of us made the mistake of saying, "I love...(you know who) which prompted someone else to say, "Everyone loves..." *LOL* We were absolutely rollin' that day...Anywho, I know what you mean about hangin' out with the boys. Have fun tonight! Everybody Wang Chung tonight!

Good morning, Cheetahs - man do I need to catch up - I hope I have time after I get to work (bad, I know).;-)

I woke up this morning with DOMS from head to toe. Plyometrics must have pushed my body pretty far yesterday - WOW! I am planning at least an 1-1/2 hour walk or run tonight while DS has football practice. If the humidity is relieved just a little I'll run, but it's so darn humid and we are expecting more rain (like we need that!!) so maybe I'll have to change my ideas. :)

I'll be back later with personals!

DS and I went down to one of the towns (1 mile away) that was completely under water in our floods from last weekend and oh the mess. I felt so bad and helpless. One person had a "FOR SALE" sign spray painted on their big front window, that was kind of a cute stress reliever for them I'm sure. Everyone seemed in pretty good spirits. They need rags to help clean, so I'm getting all kinds of things together to bring down there. Talk again soon!

Marcia.

I'm back to say that I am a dope. LOL It's not ISculpt 8 that I did y'day. I did 6 y'day. 8 was the one I did last week but didn't care for the cueing on.

Anyway, I just completed the floor legwork from 6 ilke I had wanted to. OUCH! My run is gonna feel intersting now!:p

Hi Cheeetahs-

Marcia- Those are goods DOMS I hope!...It is amazing how powerful water can be in mass quantities. It is nice of you and DH to send in your rags to help.

Wendy- You are so funny about loving men

Shelly- thanks for wanting to meet up with me! I really would like to meet all of this Check in group too!

Cathy- wow we had a lot of Cheetahs starting us up today didn't we?

Today's plan was to be a run although Thursday is not a regular run day for me. Tomorrow DD (age 16) and I go to NY to see DD (age almost 22) for a girls weekend. I'm not convinced though that I really want to run. We will get in a one TM run at the hotel . Today is an indecisive day.

Good morning ladies! Today is the day we meet Chelsea! My DS is so excited and wants to bring her home today. However, they won't let us adopt her on the first visit. I guess they want to make sure she will have a loving home because they ask for references. Needless to say, today will be a rest day for me.

Christine - You are so sweet! Thanks for your kind words. We want to give an adult dog a chance since most people only want puppies. Besides, she is already housebroken. I agree with you that an exhausted dog is a happy dog. However, she will probably be wearing me out before I can wear her out. :)

Cathy - If I remember correctly, the Luxor is right next to Mandalay Bay. $176.32 is not a bad price pp. I saw airfare for me $212 RT. You can't beat that price. I'm one step closer to signing up for the LV HM. I want to get in a long run this weekend and then make my decision. I might go even if I can't run the HM just so I can meet some cheetahs. :)

Shelly - Thanks for the well wishes for Chelsea! I hope it goes well too. I really hope Vegas works out for me too. I want to meet you and the other cheetahs! :)

I'll be back later for more personals. Waves to all Cheetahs!!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

I think everything is catching up with me. I slept really hard and I still had trouble getting up. Oh well. I’m going to do a Spinervals Sweating Buckets/PLB Mishmosh. I should run, but I’m still not 100%, so I’ll wait until Saturday.

Shelly – you’re too funny!! Thanks for my first smile of the morning! I’m very glad to hear you’re careful! I worry too much, I know! You’re a nurse – you know better than I what happens! I hope I can run with y’all, too. We’ll see.

Cathy - Enjoy PUB and your run! Don’t you love that deep-in-the-glutes DOMs? I have no butt, so I love it when I really feel I worked it well!

Amy – Oh yeah, we often have two threads. No worries!

Wendy – DH went bowling last night. I guess we have this new bowling alley that is a killer sports bar as well. So, now he wants to hang out in the bowling alley! But I know what you mean about men. They tend to be easier to be around. And they can be really fun to look at!!! :p Enjoy your night.

Marcia – the floods this year have been horrible! Good for you for gathering things to help! Enjoy your walk or run!

Judy – sounds like you have a fabulous weekend planned! Enjoy figuring out what to do today!

Kristi – Oh yeah, a girls weekend in Vegas? You know what they say… “What goes on in Vegas, stays in Vegas”. I may have to stop by anyway, even if I can’t run! LOL. And YES there is definitely something to say about already being housebroken. My next dog will be a rescue. There’s something about knowing that you made a difference in someone’s life that is very good. I still say you’re doing a wonderful thing!

Enjoy your days everyone!

>>And they can be really fun to look at!!! :p>>

Especially when they bowl. Then you have an excuse to check out their butts!

Kristi :: Luxor sounds like it'd be perfect then! I hope this works out for us.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...that is great you have your smaller room already for the start of school. I did manage a 3 mile pain free run. I just don't know if I will continue running or not. Time will tell. Thanks, I hope it goes away soon too!! I will know more hopefully about LV this weekend as my sister needed to check with her DH. She's wanting to go fri-mon. You did great with DM...that one is tough! Enjoy PUB and run today. I believe Susan does have her father visiting for a bit. I didn't think she would have much time for the check-in. She will catch up...

Shelly...yep, my sister and I do have many of the same traits...I think she will love meeting you cheetahs. The heel pain seems no worse after the run yesterday. I am just taking it day by day. So you are driving to LV? Have fun with L&G and some cycling.

Wendy...yes, I mentioned LV to my sister last weekend and she thought it would be a great idea! Funny about the men comment....during football season I seem to hang around more men...:)...good job with iSculpt.

Kristi..I hope the meet with Chelsea goes very well. We also inherited Sadie from our neighbors, but she was not abused, they just ignored her a lot. And she probably did get chased somewhat by the little kids, so our situations are similar. Sadie is jack russell/yorkie, I would be happy to post a pic:

http://pic4.picturetrail.com/VOL752/3147882/8551700/115776619.jpg

Jackie...the golf ball and icing are seeming to help. I did run 3 mile pain free yesterday but it never hurt anyways WHILE I ran, it was always after. You seem to be enjoying the iTreads.

Elaine....I have not been to LV since I was 16! No, I don't remember your mentioning the SD RnR experience? All I ever hear about PF is you have to be very diligent about the icing, massaging and stretching. I take the golfball to work and then I can massage a bit more during the day. i think LV is sounding like a lot of fun. I think my sister wanted to go fri-mon, but I should find out more this weekend. Glad you can still do the EXT somewhat, and did weight lifting ever seem to bother the PF as in standing legwork?

Judy...yes, my chiro (my nephew), was the one that told me to massage very hard with the golfball, using as much weight as I could. Yes, I am reading Chi running. I had planned on getting the book some time ago when you were talking about it here. I just didn't. I actually ran yesterday knowing a few of the principles, and just relaxed my arms and legs, it did seem a lot more effortless but still very slow. I have read more and plan on trying it tomorrow. Sounds like a fun weekend in NY for you!

Christine...the run yesterday did not seem to irritate the heel pain much, but the jury's still out...:)...You definitely have my prayers for Danny. After my nephews accident, you know how I feel about motorcycles. Enjoy your mish mosh workout today.

Laurie...I think you know me very well!! Though I have heard ornery and stubborn the most...the others also fit...:)...sorry about the trouble with the Chiro. I would for sure turn his a$$ in!

Gayle...that would be fun if you could swing LV! I am glad you are having fun in the dating world. I think I'd fall flat on my face...:)

I am planning on S&H legs, abs and 40 min on my EXT. The heel does not seem any worse after the 3 mile run, so I will have to keep up with the treatment...

Have a great day...:)

Check it out! Go to www.kttc.com and click on the flood pics on the top. This is the area that I am living in. It's hard to find roads that you can use to get anyway, it's so strange. We now have roads closing because they are buckling. Just unreal!

Marcia.

Hey guys. I'm here to say I'm TIRED TIRED TIRED! These late nights must stop! LOL My 'friend' (not sure what else to call him at this point) and I worked on my treadmill for over 2.5 hours last night. We got done at 11:45 and made the mistake of sitting down for a few minutes. Before you know it, we both fell FAST asleep until I woke up at 2am! ACK!!! I'm beat...turned off the alarm and everything, so I didn't even get a chance to try out the fixed (and hopefully WORKING) treadmill. Maybe later today sometime, but it's hard with the kids home all day long!

Cathy-thanks for that info. Is that price per PERSON even with 2 people splitting a room? How about 8 of us splitting one room? LOL I'm just not sure I can swing that plus the cost of meals....and not even SURE about the drinking (gasp) and gambling part! LOL

Marcia-UNREAL is right. Prayers, of course!!!! And count your blessings. It could have been much worse, right?

OK....lots to do since I got a late start!

Gayle

Good morning everyone!

Elaine - I'm giggling here about your day in class. It's nice to know what goes on in the busy life of a Cheetah. Sounds like you have a challenging time ahead of you.

Christine - Definitely sending prayers up for your friend. How horrible!

Gayle - I'm glad you're having fun. It's nice to be upfront with things from the get go. Hope the treadmill is working fine.

Laurie - Nice workout yesterday. I'm glad you slept decently. I don't like sleep aids either. Besides, they don't make me sleep through the night. So, what's the point? Sorry to hear about the jerk chiro. Hope he comes around without threats.

Marcia - Glad you're loving Tony and P90X.

Cathy - Yay for the classroom being ready to go!! Most of the time I'm following a rotation. There are those days that I don't feel like doing what's on the rotation and I'll do something else.

Amy - A house in two years is a good goal to aim for. At least, you will have something to show for all of those long hours.

Shelly - I'm shocked that you started the thread this morning. :7 Glad you had an easy night of work. Enjoy your days off. When I do the iTreads I stick with the joggers or a little above. Know I will never be near an elite runner. You gals will have lots of fun in Vegas.

Wendy - I will have to try that iSculpt #12 and see if I like it any better. Enjoy bowling with the boys tonight.

Judy - Hope you have a good workout whatever you decide to do. Enjoy your weekend in NY. I get to go in October with my sisters and DD. That should be lots of fun.

Kristi - How exciting that you get to meet Chelsea!

Carole - Glad you were able to run without pain yesterday. I must be having sympathy pains for you.:) I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and as I was coming out my foot started hurting. It was the shoes I had on. Today I have on flats. Enjoy your workout!

I did iSculplt 9. This is really a good workout but I need a visual. Grace's cueing was much better than Mimi's. Even though you have a PDF file to look at, she did some moves that didn't have an illustration. I would rather know that I'm doing the move correctly than spend time trying to figure it out. Does that make sense? I'll give iBallet a try and then it's 3 strikes and you're out. I'll stick with the iTreads, iClimbs and iStength and yoga.

Enjoy your day!

Jackie

Carole - Your Sadie is so adorable. How old is she? I'm glad your heel is not any worse today. I hope it heals quickly. Your workout looks awesome BTW. I'll try to find a pic of my Sadie to share. I don't think I have one handy at the moment.

Good morning Cheetahs!

Shelly, My b'day is Dec 12 so not really while we'll all be in LV (at least I hope a lot of us will make it). I was just going to use that to help convince my husband that he should take over for me here at home and send me off to LV! There's not really an issue with that though....he's an extremely good guy. I sent him an email at work the other day to give him a heads up about a possible LV get together. This was his reply: "You can go only if your friends are heterosexual females or homoesexual males." I told him that I was weirdly flattered by his response!! LOL!! In any case, I am so excited to think that I might finally get to meet some more of you Cheetahs.

Cathy, My son will be taking World Lit this year so we will see how he interacts with the teacher in this class. I hope her approach is similar to the other LA type teacher's he's had. He has an IEP but last year did not have support in any of his classes. One of his classes is called Support Studies and the teacher he had for this was a complete and total disaster. I found myself, for the first time ever, complaining about a teacher to his higher ups and requesting someone different for this school year. It was quite uncomfortable when the teacher I "fired" called me at home to apologize. Talk about the chemistry being all wrong! I've got my fingers crossed that this year will be better in that regard than last year. I don't know if I can stay in LV Sat thru Tues. It's possible that my DH can work from home though so it's not impossible. Let me know as soon as you begin to make reservations and I will too. I don't want to be the first to do so and then no one else shows up! LV alone would not be such a great time.

Wendy, :7 . You are funny! Men can be amusing though, I do agree!

Judy, When I have indecisive days that usually means that I need an easy workout. Thanks for relating your PF ordeal the other day. I feel greatly encouraged when I hear that other people have put it behind them. I try to stay positive but some days I just want to cry and wonder if I will ever be free from the pain the PF causes!

Christine, Hi! I hope you can make it to LV! It would be great to see you again.

Carole, I did the EXT and some standing leg work yesterday morning and by evening the PF seemed to be more sore than normal. I won't do that combination again for a while. There is a new place by me that offers 45 minute foot massages. I'm calling and making an appointment today. I'm not sure what days I can stay in LV since I'll be depending on DH to take care of the kids while I am gone. In any case, I'm gonna be there. I'll shoot you an email about my SD RnR experience if you want to hear about it.

Jackie, I went back and read the description of the class I was whining about the other day and I can see that I should not be completely suprised by this professors approach. It's just that wild look she's got in her eyes that makes me weary before we even really get started!

Gayle, Eight to a room could work. I'll be driving to LV and could bring some cots in my car!! LOL!! Just kidding of course. Glad you got your treadmill working!

Marcia, You all have had more than your fair share of difficult times! I hope things brighten up for you soon!

Hi Kristi, Amy, Laurie, etc.

I'm going to do an hour of cardio on my Lifecycle then head off to class. Talk to you all later!!!
