Steppingup

Cathlete
Well, I'm definitely finished for the week so I will get us started. I had a fair week, not the best but not the worst. I took the plunge and joined a gym and I think in celebration of this I am going to put a greater emphsis on weight lifting. I am in search of MUSCLES!!! I feel a little self conscious with those "large" men there but there is a woman's section that I could use. I have been going with my brother and using the "mens" side but his shift at work is changing and I will probably be going by myself for a while.

My back seems to be liking the gym workouts so I will continue with heavy workouts until my back decides otherwise. I am still being cautious!!!! My cold/strep throat/whatever is better....THANK GOODNESS!!!! That was some tough stuff but I am feeling mucho better!!!

MONDAY: Total body at the gym
15 minutes stretching

TUESDAY: CIA 2k05 Hi/Lo I really like Franny and this was the first time I had actually finished the hi/lo. I had started 3 other times and couldn't get past the bit of kickboxing at the front. I think I will like this workout!!!
15 minutes stretching

WEDNESDAY: BFRD

THURSDAY: Went fishing Caught a bit fat NOTHING!!

FRIDAY: Total body at the gym
15 minutes stretching

SATURDAY: Just a dry run through Franny's newest (about 20 minutes) I think I am going to like this as well. Uh oh, I did two hi/lo workouts in one week. Look for those pigs in the sky.

Hopefully I will be better organized next week. I have just not had enough time this week to get in enough workouts. It's frustrating. I hope everyone has had a great week!!!!

Your turn!

HI Kelly! You can have some of my muscle. I'm so naturally muscular it's ridiculous! Sorry you didn't catch anything while fishing! And congrats on the gym thing! :)

Sun. - 3 mile walk

Mon. - CTX Leaner Legs; S&H shoulders

Tues. - Bike: 80 min.

Wed. - S&H Chest & back

Thurs. - 4 mile walk

Fri. - S&H Tris, bis, abs; Bike: 35 min.

Sat. - off

That's it....not too exciting. Finished my 3rd week of S&H...will maybe do one more, then I'm not sure. Perhaps a PS rotation. Just got PS and have not tried it yet. Looking forward to it! Have a great week everyone.

Hollie

Hey guys...

Kelly: Enjoy the gym! Sometimes I miss working out at a gym....but most of the time I treasure my own little gym at home!

Holly: I just finished 3 weeks of S&H too....I love the results but sensed I needed a break so did CTX this week. I'll probably get into PS and MIS for the next few weeks.

As for me, I definitely got more cardio into my routine this week. I absolutely love the S&H series but find it tough to also get my cardio in....So I kind of switch rotations. Meaning I'll do three weeks of S&H which for me is mostly weight work, and then 3 weeks of CTX/PS/MIS where I put more emphasis on cardio endurance work.

So, that being said, here's my week:

Monday: Nada

Tuesday: Circuit Max

Wednesday: CTX Chest/CTX Back/CTX Shoulders/Abs

Thursday: 30 minutes Stairmaster

Friday: CTX Power Cardio/Planks

Saturday: CTX Triceps/Biceps/Abs

Sunday: MIC (whew, that was one tough workout!)

Hope everyone is feeling healthy!

Terri

Happy Easter, everybody! http://www.plauder-smilies.de/tiere/hase.gif

Hi, Kelly! Don't worry, before you know it, you'll be used to having all those big guys around. After you appproach a few about "how many more sets do you have?" and "can I 'work in' with you?" you find out they're pretty ordinary--just fairly nice guys. I don't really think about it much when I go to the gym, anymore.

Hollie--your week looks great!

My week started out pretty well:

Sunday: walk/run 35 min., Pilates mat routine
Monday: Pilates equipment class, MIS upper body, first 26 minutes of Step Revival
Tuesday: off
Wednesday: Pilates class, 35 min. bike ride in the wind
Thurday: surgery x( Outpatient surgery, but under general anesthesia, so I spent two days vomiting and sleeping off all the drugs :-sleepy
Friday: very short walk
Saturday: two short, but longer walks! feeling much better and eating well :9

I'm feeling okay today, and ready for some more walking. I was surprised that my surgeon's post-op orders said nothing over 10 lbs. and no strenuous exercising for three weeks. They even wrote "no hiking!" the post-op nurse said they must really know me. Unfortunately, that means I have to miss an additional week of work. :-rollen

I'm almost feel like starting a new thread: "Taking it Easy on Doctor's Orders Check-in." Taking it easy is hard to do. I'm going to keep checking in here, and if I over do it, everybody yell at me, okay?

Hey everyone - happy easter!

Kelly congrats on joining the gym - I did too about 3 weeks ago and LOVE it... funny I really like having the muscular men around ;) little eye candy never hurts!
Must say its is taking a few weeks to get the balance down between cathe tapes and the gym... NOT ENOUGH DAYS in the WEEK -
Just got back from the gym.. I've got teenagers so they are just waking up now.

Think my goal is
4 cardio
3 gym (mainly weights)
3 days lower body (LL and S&H legs)
1 day rest

Not sure how to get all those in and a rest day but hey it's a goal.

Here's my week
M - cardio kicks
T - gym (weights and cross trainer cardio)
W - kickbox
T - rest
F - gym (weights cross trainer cardio)
S - run (2.5) - S&H leg
S - gym (upper body)

so lets see cardio - 3
gym -3
leg -1
rest -1
gotta get a bit more in the legs dept!
Have a geat week everyone

Oh really good on clean eating like week 6 or so... and I'm really seeing LESS cellulite - YIPPEEEEEEEE

Hi everyone! I went to visit my pregnant sister in NYC Friday-Wednesday, so didn't get a chance to check in for last week, and didn't get a chance to really work out this past week. I'll post my past two weeks:
3/18-3/24:
MONDAY: rest

TUESDAY: S&H Chest and back
Step Heaven/Hi-Lo Heaven circuit combo: did section III from each with my own barbell leg work during the weight circuits

WEDNESDAY: Pmax wu and I
Stepworks II and cd

THURSDAY: S&H tris, bis and abs
40 minute walk

FRIDAY-SUNDAY: travel, babyshower, and fun with sisters and mom!

3/25-3/31:

MONDAY-THURSDAY: more NY fun and travel

FRIDAY: PS CST and BBA

SATURDAY: strenuous 2 1/2 hour hike

SUNDAY: Bmax wu, leg circuits, upper body, abs and stretch

Tried to finish my week off well, but maybe shouldn't have done those upper body workouts so close together...
Off to a new, workout filled week :)
Wendy

I had a really good week, I finished up Week 3 of Donna's Fat Blaster. Here is what it looked like:
Monday: Body Max
Tuesday: Cardio Kicks
Weds.: Power Hour, CTX 10*10*10
Thurs.: IMAX
Friday: Circuit Max
Sat.: BodyMax- aerobic section, and leg circuits only. I was supposed to do Leaner Legs and CTX Step and Intervals, I just couldn't get into that that day.

A few months ago, I printed a treadmill rotation Cathe posted also using Power Hour, and PS Legs, for slimming down the hips. I am going to start that, and the tank top rotation, and incorporate them together. The only thing I am worried about is, after 3 weeks, I get bored, and am ready to move on to something else. I want to stick with this rotation for at least 6 weeks. I have 10 weeks before I turn 39, and I want to lose 8 lbs., and look a little better. Tell me to do the rotation for more than 3 weeks, tell me how beneficial it will be??!!! Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

I am SO happy - I finally got out of a "slump" and am back into working out steadily. I had a really good week and am looking so forward to keeping it up :)!

Monday: Power Hour (my first time - loved it - and man, I was sore for 3 days after!)

Tuesday: 4 km power walk plus PS SLA floor work

Wednesday: laps in pool (breaststroke & kickboard) for 25 minutes, plus abs. Did this while my 3 kids were in swimming lessons all at the same time. What a treat!

Thursday: 4 km power walk

Friday: 25 mins recumbent bike, plus abs

Saturday: rest day

Sunday: 4 km walk/run

Have a great week, Everyone! Enjoy your new gym, Kelly!

Gretchen

It sounds like your surgeon does have you pegged! I'll watch over your shoulder but I bet you'll be good so that you don't jeopardize the triathlon.

Those windy rides are tough! You feel like such a wienie 'cause your heart rate is up & your speed is down. Great workouts.

Take care.

RE: Does downhill skiing count as exercise?

Hi guys

I had such a blast at beautiful Sunshine Village last week! As I had thought, it does come back to one even if it has been 15 years or so. Talk about fun skiing, eating, drinking, and sleeping. Needless to say, I had an excellent holiday and hopefully, my man and I will make skiing at Banff an annual thing.

In any event, here was my week:

Monday - PS CST in a.m. (travelling in p.m.)

Tuesday - travelling

Wednesday - ski for 4 hours or so, only one liquor hot chocolate in the chalet. :)

Thursday - ski for another 4 hours or so but had to cut it a bit short to go for the BEST massage I have ever had. :)

Friday - last day of skiing and closed down the hill. We managed to do the ski out every day we skiied even if our quads were killing us - and they were.

Saturday - travel home

Sunday - Rhythmic Step and Power Mat Science from CIA 2103

Needless to say, I had an abundance of decadent food, wine and dessert (yes, every single day) so I am jumping on the clean eating band wagon in a BIG way.

Hope you all have a great week.

Kim

P.S. and yes, vomitting is the single most gross thing I can think of and I hope that did not last too long for you Gretchen. One never has to worry about me ever having bulimia that is for sure. :)
