Check-in Week of 2/19

LynnW

Cathlete
I am going to check in early this week since I just finished my last workout for the week. It is off to sunny (hopefully) Sottsdale, Arizona for me and my Hubby tomorrow. Lot's of golf and relaxation is what we have on the agenda. I will probably try to get a couple of workouts at the exercise facility. A week off might do me some good too. :)

I think this will be the last week of this rotation. I have been doing a 3 week rotation for about 10 weeks now. This break seems
like a logical time to start a new one. I think I'll try a CTX rotation next.

Here was my week:

Monday - IMax and abs one of the CTX tapes
Tuesday - PS Shoulders/Triceps/Chest, Cardio/abs from All Step
Wednesday - PS Back/Biceps and abs from Power Circuit
Thursday - Treadmill workout - Cathe's and abs from All Step
Friday - PS Legs and abs
Saturday - Cardio Kicks and abs from Kickbox

Well, everyone have a great week. I need to go pack those shorts and clubs!!

Lynn W

Hey, Lynn,

The rain they had forecasted for yesterday did not show up! It is sunny and beautiful right now. I think you'll be in luck for the week :)
Wendy (I know you can check the weather channel, too, but you know those forecasters just don't get it right sometimes!)

My Check-In!

Hi everyone! Lynn, have a wonderful time in Arizona. Enjoy a week away from your vids and you'll be raring to get back to them the following week. I just started back to a CTX rotation too. Boy, did I miss them the past 7 weeks. Have fun and I hope the sun shines EVERY day! :-cool

My week:

I just finished up a 7-week rotation with the PS Series. I had planned to do it for 8 weeks, but I just couldn't wait to get back to my CTX. Whew, my body is feeling them!

Monday~CTX-Leaner Legs (wahoo, it hurts sooo good!!), Taught a Hi/Lo with lite toning & Abs, Yoga For Dummies in the P.M.

Tuesday~Taught a Hi/Lo with toning & Abs, PS-BB&A's in the P.M., (I goofed and just automatically reached for the PS series instead of CTX. I guess after 7 weeks, I was on automatic pilot!!)

Wednesday~IMax,CTX-CS&T's, ABS from AllStep

Thursday~Taught 2 Hi/Lo classes with toning & ABS

Friday~BodyMax-Love, Love, Love this tape. It will NEVER grow old!! Decided to add Firm's Lower Body Sculpting in since I just picked it up at Best Buy for a good price. Now, if I can just figure out when they are doing their left legs & right, I'll do okay!! I think there were times I did the same leg twice. OUCH!

Saturday~Wedding tape, WU and both step sections, Step 'n' Intervals (cardio section only) and cool down from the Wedding tape. Great workout combo. I was dripping. I love the second section of the wedding vid. Whew, it sure gets the rear & legs.

Sunday~I may try to do a Yoga tape tomorrow since I only did one tape this week for flexability.

Our spinning bikes were back ordered and I JUST received a call a few minutes ago saying they are being shipped to the store right now and should be in Monday!! WooHoo!! Can't wait. Nancy~We recieved both Mindy & Jay's tapes in the mail this week and they both look awesome. I don't even think my hubby will have any problem doing Mindy's tape. Boy, are they breathing & sweating in both the tapes!! YIKES!:-wow Thanks for the recommendation! Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

RE: My Check-In!

Hi everyone!! I woke up at 2 this morning with a raging head cold and it has knocked me for a loop!! I am sooooo tired! So I took it real easy today. Well, enough pity party. Onto my week!

MON: Yoga, Leaner Legs, and CTX All Step

TUES: Yoga, and Cardio Kicks(I was tired so I took it real easy)

WED: Yoga, walking 30min, UR 30min, and Body Pump.

THURS: Yoga and Step Heat(again took it easy)

FRI: Yoga, CTX Kickbox and CTX SNI

SAT: Yoga, and only the weight sections of 10-10-10- and Power Circut.

SUN: YOGA

As I look back over my week, I think that maybe I felt this cold coming on due to how tired I have been all week. On Tues, I was already looking forward to Sun, cause it's my rest day. I think I need to start listening to my body more. Ok, have a good one and let's enjoy going into March!! Spring is just around the corner:)!

LAST EDITED ON Feb-24-01 AT 09:34PM (Est)[p]Hello there workout fanatics! Aren't we all just incredible for being so healthy??!!! Good for us :) :) :) !!!!!!
(I'm feeling good, if you hadn't noticed!)

Lynn--Have fun here in Scottsdale this coming week. I bet you'll feel renewed when you get back!

Debbie--I took a spinning class at the Y a few years ago and had to leave halfway through. Many different areas of my, um, body, were hurting, but I think it was also because the instructor kept telling us to crank it up to level 10, and I didn't realise that my level 10 was someone else's level 3...didn't quite know how to listen to my body then! Boy was it a great workout, though--you will be having a blast next week!

Aimee--Hope that cold gets better--good for you for taking it easy. Much better not to wipe yourself out now, don't you think, and be able to get back to full force a little sooner :)

Stacy--your week looked great, and next week should be fun, too! I love that beginning music in Imax, don't you?

Here is my week (4 workouts with my boyfriend--yay for him!!!)

MONDAY: BBA warmup, MIS + BMAX CHEST and BACK, INTENSE MOVES !!!
TUESDAY: 60 minute WALK with Lee :)
WEDNESDAY: CST wu, MIS/BMAX BIS, TRIS, SHLDRS, 60 min walk with Lee
THURSDAY: BMAX step, MIS LEGS, 60 minute walk with Lee
FRIDAY: 2k01 hi-lo (50 min)
SATURDAY: 1 1/2 hour tough hike with Lee--this was steep, fun and beautiful to see the amazing wildflowers of the desert!
SUNDAY: MIS upper and PS legs, + 30-45 cardio

I'm excited that my boyfriend has joined me so consistently this week-hope he'll keep it up. I'll have to make sure I workout by myself in addition to these walks, because they really aren't at my level , but I'm getting in to the idea of harder and lighter days being better for me anyway, so I'll just have to fine tune this...
Have a wonderful week!
Wendy

It feels so good to be working out again! Although, I have a long way to go, but babies build great arm muscles :)

Aimee I just got over a cold. Take it easy and it goes quicker!

Sun. All Step, the perfect come back tape. I love step, working shoulders, and wanted to do some abs too. Of course I had to modify.

Mon-Wed. My cold!

Thur. Cardio Parties step (My Valentines gift)

Fri. Crunch Boot Camp

Sat. 1st 3 combos of Cardio parties hi/low

My Cathe collection is now complete. I got the Wedding video off ebay for 5.99. What a deal! I plan on starting a CTX rotation, but with the new CIA's coming and the Wedding video it might get put off. But, they are still new to me since I didn't do much of them while preg so maybe not!

RE: checking in

Everyone's week looks great. FINALLY found some energy this week. I really enjoyed my workouts even though I was two short. We celebrated my son's 2nd birthday today even though it is actually on the 26th. We had pizza, dip and chips, ice cream and cake. I was dizzy with all that good food around. I only had one piece of pizza though. We had fun but it took me two days to get the house straight and plan everything. Here's my week:

MONDAY: 2 hours of tennis with my brother and 10 minutes of bicep work (on my own)

TUESDAY: Step Heat and Pure and Simple Stretch

WEDNESDAY: PS--CST and Pure and Simple Stretch

THURSDAY: Step Heaven (1st section) and Pure and Simple Stretch

FRIDAY: Housework--BIG TIME housework. Washing porches, mopping, dusting, etc., etc., etc...

SATURDAY: Birthday party

I really feel good about my week even though it was a little different from "normal" (normal? what's that?). Anyway, hope everyone's else had a great week!!!

LAST EDITED ON Feb-24-01 AT 11:03PM (Est)[p]I'm joining Aimee and Andrea in the cold club today. Haven't worked with fifth graders in three weeks; this virus was courtesy of my husband. Think I would have gone through all the viruses by now!

Pain from the surgery finally broke on Wednesday. Some scouting hikes for work of about three miles each on Thursday and Friday. Slowly but surely, I'm getting back into the amazon mountain woman lifestyle. Now to go take some more vitamin C!

RE: My Check-In!

LAST EDITED ON Feb-25-01 AT 05:06AM (Est)[p]A CTX week.

CTX all week, except for a Y leg workout while I was waiting for my appointment to get my bod fat percentage checked, and a race walk on Saturday. All days did CTX weights. I think the bicep work with those stinkin' crazy eights are the hardest.

BTW....with Kickbox cardio, I find that if I try to everything like Cathe does it, the intensity is higher. For instance, if she says 100%, that's exactly what I do. Same goes for all of her other tapes....I watch her and mimic her moves. Try to jump as high as she does, etc. It seems to help.

Bonus this week was sweating that went along with moving big heavy boxes up and down basement steps. I guess that counts.

Week after next I should be moved and working out in my own area where I DON'T HAVE TO MOVE MY WEIGHTS FROM ROOM TO ROOM!!!!!!! Hot dog!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I think I have to learn how to golf now....I have a son who is a golf pro who can get me lessons and a deal on equipment, and I'm moving to a house where the backyard butts up against a public golf course. I have no excuses. I may even like it! Somebody try to talk me into or out of it!!!!!

To all of you who have a cold: I hope you feel better!

My week was so-so. After all this root canal work, I finally realized all my workouts were really taking a toll on my body...and my body was SCREAMING at me to "take it easy". So after Monday, I finally did. At least for a little while...}>

Monday: Gym workout with husband: Lifting heavy for chest, shoulders, triceps.
Tuesday: Woke up exhausted with the whole area of my mouth really achy, ended up previewing CIA 2K07 and doing some Yoga for Athletes.
Wednesday: Nada
Thursday: Nada
Friday: REALLY missed my workouts, so took it easy with Step Heat and chest/back/shoulder portion of Body Max.
Saturday: Biceps/triceps/abs portion of Body Max; CIA 9907 Kickbox Drills only
Sunday: Today I'm planning to do Circuit Max...cuz I think I've rested ENOUGH!

I love reading everyone's workouts and how they put different pieces together...It really helps me to vary my own workouts!

Hope everyone has a healthy week!

Terri

Lynn!

LAST EDITED ON Feb-25-01 AT 09:34PM (Est)[p]Yikes! Thanks for the warning! We will take it a lil' easy the 1st. week!!!(Ooooops, I goofed. This post is for Wendy.) Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

Hey Murph!

WELCOME BACK! How did your trip go? Good for you for getting up that morning and doing an early bird workout! Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

RE: Checking in

I really like Pure and Simple Stretch. It is very thorough but it's hard to fit that 30 minutes in sometimes. It has really helped with my chronic low back pain.

Kelly

Sunday rest
Monday rest
Tuesday 4 mile run plus 15 min. stairmaster
Wednesday 30 min. stairmaster
Thursday 3 miles alternating walking and running
Friday 2.6 mile walk with incline plus 15 min. stairmaster
Saturday unplanned rest. Oops!

Starting this week, I am gonna take everyone's advice and make strength training my priority (or at least equal to cardio). I am gonna try for 3 or 4 cardio sessions per week and I'm undecided if I'm gonna do each body part once or twice per week. Any suggestions? I have the PS series and CTX series. I am also thinking about buying MIS. I am buying a new step this week. The one I have now is the short kind that can't be used as a weight bench. I want the kind that is full size and can incline to serve as a weight bench. I am gonna start going by measurements also instead of the scale. I am so discouraged by that darn scale.

Anyway, I am excited about my new routine and hope to see some results in about 4 weeks.

Lisa

Hi all! Sorry to hear about the colds, just take it easy for a few days and you know you'll bounce back. Despite this, great workout weeks all around :).

Here's mine:

Sunday - Imax; PS CST and PS BBA
Monday - TaeBo AL #12; Living Arts Power Yoga for Beginners: Stamina
Tuesday - CTX combo with w/u from SNI; cardios from both SNI and Power Circuit; planks, abs, and stretch from Power Circuit; later did KV Body Reform Total Body (for those of you not familiar with it, this tape is basically some good floorwork for legs and abs...I like it :))
Wednesday - Cardio Kicks in AM; CTX biceps and triceps in PM
Thursday - All Step (entirety, as is with shoulders) in AM; Leaner Legs in PM
Friday - 45 minutes elliptical machine
Saturday - Stepping Zone (hadn't pulled this one out in a while...you can always count on a brain workout from Christi!)

Take care everyone. "See" ya next week,
Lisa :)
