Some ideas
Yep, it's sad that garage sale season is past, but all is not lost!

A few places you can check are:
1.) Second hand and consignment stores. There are second hand sporting goods places like Play It Again Sports, but I have also seen them just at regular consignment stores and even Goodwill. It might be worth it to spend some time with the yellow pages and a phone. Some places keep a "wish book" so that they will call you if what you're looking for comes in. That is, they'll call IF they remember to check the book. My experience has been that the consignment places are so busy these days, with so many people trying to save $$ and clear out stuff, that they rarely remember to check the book. Future follow up calls would be good.
2.) Some people were able to get the full sized steps a few months ago for around $40, which included shipping, at mercata.com. They have a "power buy" system, where the more people who order, the lower the price. If they have something, you can head over to Video Fitness and alert people to the opportunity, and see if you can get the price down to what you want.
3.) Ebay is another potential resource, but you have to watch out for shipping costs. Companies can often get really good deals on shipping from UPS that individuls just can't, so that can really drive the price up. Make sure you have a firm committment on postage BEFORE you bid, and factor that into your maximum bid. Also make sure to check the feedback rating of the seller to make sure they're trustworthy.
4.) Sam's Club at one point had steps at a really good price even before they clearanced them after New Year's. I think it was $50 originally, and some people found them after Christmas for $20. With the holidays approaching ( and New Year's resolutions!

) they may get them in again.
Good luck! Even if you have to pay the full $79, you'll never regret the purchase!

There was a thread at VF recently about how long people had had their steps. No matter how much they paid or how long they'd had them, NO ONE had anything bad to say about their precious steps!
