I suffer from non-stop chapped lips. I apply chapstick all of the time. I am self conscious about my chapped lips all the time. I can't seem to leave them alone. I have had this problem for years. I have finally found the solution product for my chapped lips and thought I would share it! A product called SMOOCH by Benefit. I always love Benefit products, so I stopped in the Sephora shop and thought I would give it a go. It is a little pricey, running around $20, but it is the best! It isn't waxy or oily like other lip balms. This is creamy and provides me with much relief. I can't believe that I am now only applying something about twice a day. I used to apply something almost hourly! YAY!

I found that since I started drinking more water and consuming less caffeine, my lips are less chapped.

Monica,

Thank you for sharing!!

I too suffer from Dry/chapped lips..etc and I have nver found anything that works for me either..where do I get "Smooch" by Benefit? I would pay almost anything to keep my lips moist instead of dry and cracked and peeling..yikes!

I would avoid products containing any form of petroleum like Vaseline because they actually dry your lips out more. Petroleum jelly isn't absorbed by the skin andit provides only a short-term fix for dry, chapped lips. And since it keeps the skin from breathing, it can — if used frequently dry your lips out more. I try to use a beeswax based lip balm and I don't have to use it as frequently as I do with vaseline (only twice a day). Burt's Bees lip products are great for this reason and cost $2.50.

Chapped lips can be an indicator that your body need more Omega-3 essential fatty acids. Nature's Way makes a great fish oil product called Fisol. It is enteric-coated and you don't get that fishy after taste and because it is better absorbed by the body you need lower doses.

You can buy it on amazon.com -- there are a lot of good reviews on epinions.com also if you want more reviews before buying. Also -- I spelled it wrong, which may cause problems finding it online. It is actually spelled with 3 o's -- Smoooch

Annie--I've heard that about petroleum products but I don't believe it. Like my mother & grandmother, I put Vaseline on my lips every night before I go to bed & every morning when I wake up my lips feel really good. I've been doing it my entire life--have tried many other products including Burt's Bees & nothing compares. If my lips are dry & peeling during the day I put it on & within 15 minutes the peeling is gone & my lips feel moist & hydrated. I'm not sure where that rumor comes from but I suspect it's from cosmetic companies who want you to spend money on their products.
