Ceramic Hair Styling Tools

Hi,

Can someone enlighten me as to what is all the rage about ceramic hair styling tools? I have worn my hair short for several years so I am a little out of touch, but am now in the process of growing my hair. All I have to do now is dampen it and put some gel in it. Are these tools for any specific hair type?

I have a ceramic flat iron. The ceramic ones are supposed to be less damaging to your hair. If you have the kind of hair and style that lets you just put in gel and go, you don;t need any tools! you are one lucky girl!

Ceramic irons get hotter.Most of my irons are 400 degrees.
The average person if not careful can burn their hair off with them.
They usually have a dial on them.
I always tell them to test it on a piece of kleenex.
If it burns . It is too hot.
Ionic is easier on your hair . They make it dry faster.
When it comes to flat irons. The hot ones will straighten much faster and easier.
If you don't have coarse curly hair, you don't need the 400 degree iron. You will just burn and split your hair.
Use a thermal protectant.
Your hair will be much happier.
