Cathe's weighted vest

I just received my Cathe's weighted vest, and, well, it stinks.

I mean stinks, like kerosene or some other petrochemical.

Does anyone know if this is normal and whether or not the smell will fade? because right now the smell is strong enough I'm thinking of returning it.

Mine didn't smell like that at all. It had an odor to it but more like a new product smell.

I got my Cathe vest a couple of weeks ago and I didn't notice an odor.

Is it made in China? I'd be someone cautious if it is. You never know what kind of things they put in their products.
I had some weighted gloves that I thought were Ironwear, but they were a knock-off, made in China, and the flexible rubber started to disintegrate and smell funky after a while.

Well my husband came home and I made him smell it, too, and he said that was just typical of synthetic fibers. He said it would fade. I guess I'm just really sensative to certain smells.

I purchased my vest through Walmart and it did have a strong odor at first (when I would walk into my workout room it hit me!). But it's been about 9 months now and it doesn't smell anymore. Give it a little time -- it will fade!
