Cathe Workout Reccomindations

Hi, Everybody!

Maybe you guys can give me some help? I'm not new to working out and videos, I have over 180 videos, and I'm sad to say only a handful of them are Cathe videos :( I Like her, but her videos are very hard, and I need to be very careful. I Have bad knees so I try to stay away from exercises that have lunges, dips, and squats. I'm looking for some total body videos that are not going to kill me that are about 40/45min. I'm also looking to get some lower body videos that are mat based and are about 30min. For equipment, I have weights that range from 2lb to 15lbs, a body bar that goes up to 50lbs, step, weight bench, various mats, ankle weights, weight bench. I Don't own and never could get into the stability ball, and I also don't own the Fit Tower. Any advice and suggestions are welcome :)

Thanks,

Geoff

Hi Geoff,

For a mat based workout that is knee friendly, I would suggest Cathe's "To the Mat: Legs and Glutes". It is part of her ICE series. On this intermediate level DVD there is a Timesaver Premix (#2) that does not use a stability ball and comes in at 35 minutes. If you have more time, she has a bonus core segment that can be added on, as well as a shoulder routine where Cathe uses 5, 10 and 12 lb. weights. (Of course you can always go lighter when starting out.)

In terms of a total body workout that is very doable, I feel that the add-on workouts - Upper Body Sculpt and Lower Body Sculpt - on Cathe's "Basic Step + Body Fusion" DVD are her easiest weight training programs. The Lower Body and Upper Body Sculpt add-ons are only 20 minutes each. So you could do them individually for a quick workout or together for a total body workout in 40 minutes. You already own the weights needed for this program which is great. You would just need to get a band (today's "Deal of the Day"!) for this workout or To the Mat. Cathe uses a loop in To the Mat, but the band can just be tied around in a loop and serve double duty.

Good luck and hope you find something that fits your needs!
