Cathe, sub for deadlifts in new series

Hi Cathe,
I just wanted to ask you if you could possibly give an alternate exercise for deadlifts. I cannot do them due to low back problems and every time I attempt them I'm in pain for months. Your workouts all have deadlifts in them and I usually skip the section but then feel like I'm cheating myself of an exercise. I think it would benefit a lot of us with low back problems if this exercise could be substituted with something else.

Hi Debbie! Try substituting the super man (any variation you like) to increase your lower back strength as well as build up endurance. You can work your hamstrings on the stability ball to keep them strong. These two exercises will target the same major muscle groups as the deadlift. Take Care!
 
Nevermind. Is it the one where you're laying on your belly and raising your arms and legs? I assume it is.
