Cathe on Computer?

I was wondering if any of you had considered transferring Cathe DVD's to your hard drive and creating mixes from that? My dad has told me that there is a program that allows you to do that. It seemed like a great idea with no waiting for disks to change in between chapters. And everything is saved on your hard drive so recalling certain mixes is quick and easy. The computer would be connected to a television or monitor.

With this could you transfer the mix to a DVD CD and play it on your DVD player? If you could do that, it would be interesting. My computer is not near my TV so I would prefer to not have to move it.

Wow, I can't believe I never considered this before. Since my "DVD player" is actually a small computer that we have hooked up to our big TV in the living room, this would work perfectly for me. I could finally try Aquajock's mish-moshes! This is a great idea - thanks for sharing!

Yes, it can be done. I have no idea about all of the technical side of it. I do know that you have to have a DVD burner , not just the CD burner like when you are burning music. My software for burning my movies is DVD X Copy Platinum. I have burned exercise dvd's w/ it, but haven't tried the "mix n match" burning yet.

If you're planning on trying this please let us know how easy/diffucult it was. If this works I'm definetly investing in a dvd burner for my computer.

I do know that for one EVERYONE should have a DVD burner.
Anyways, when you burn a movie, you get the option of doing an advanced burn or a standard one. I choose advanced. You actually have to click on the title/chapter you are wanting burned. I do not have any cathe's on dvd, so I can't try it. But I do know it's possible.
