Cathe, I'm afraid to use more weight than you use!

Wow, I have really quickly progressed in my strength training because when I first got these DVD's I couldn't finish. Now I've matched your weights and I can finish and I'm not sore at all. I don't know why but something in my mind tells me NOT to use more weight than you are using. Maybe I'm afraid I'll get too stocky-looking instead of lean. Do you use more weight when you are training for yourself than when you are making a video? Is there ever a stopping point where you don't continue to add weight? Maybe I should change the type of workout I am doing? I have Muscle Endurance, Bootcamp, Supersets, Push/Pull and I've also made some mixes from the Timesaver.
Thank you!
Amy

Hi Amy! If you are happy with the results you are seeing, using good form, and feeling as if you can safely handle more weight, then sure go ahead and use more weight.

When I train on my own, I generally tend to use heavier weight since I am not having to talk and cue while I am lifting. The limit for me is when I attempt the next weight up and it just feels "wrong". When this happens I simply change exercise order or change workout styles to shock my system to avoid plateau's.

Good Luck!
