Carpal Tunnel Relief?

Hi, ladies,

I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant, and my water retention is really bad in my ankles/feet and my arms. . . especially my right arm. It has given me carpal tunnel symptoms in my right hand: numb finger tips, poor fine motor skills (weak grip). Does anyone know if there is any relief for this? Will this go away after delivery?

Do you have a wrist brace to wear at night or even during the day when your symptoms are bad? That can give you relief depending on how severe the carpal tunnel is. You can get one at the drugstore.

My girlfriend had severe carpal tunnel syndrome during her pregnancy, but it subsided after delivery. I had mild CTS during my last pregnancy and am still struggling with it now - 5 years later.

Good luck. Hopefully, you'll deliver soon and the symptoms will go away!

if you can't get a wrist brace to wear, try to keep your hands elevated slightly at night...i suffered from moderate carpal tunnel during my pregnancy and it went away within the first 4 weeks... i hope you get relief soon! good luck!

eta: ice packs also provide relief - try this a couple of times a day
