I know you have a NordicTrack Spacesaver elliptical. How do you like it? Was it a pain to put together? Does it seem sturdy?

I'm looking into an elliptical for Christmas or my birthday, and this one look interesting.

Kathryn...I love it!! It went together well except for a few of the screws. I think we needed a GOOD phillips screwdriver. I did use some shorter screws on the water bottle holder as the longer ones I could not get to work. But overall it went together well. I also like the way it folds up to save space.

It has 10 programs and believe me they are tough! 1 & 2 are pulse programs I have not tried. They use the Heart Rate grips. Programs 3 & 4 are 20 min, 5,6,7,8 are 30 min and 9 & 10 are 45 min. I did 9 last week and about died. It was a ladder type workout and after you warmed up you then did 4 min in each resistance starting with 5 (there are 10) I cannot believe I actually made it to 10!! But was so relived when it went down to 8, then 6 then 4 then 3...My DH has only done it manually for 5 or 6 min and he weighs about 230. It supports him well and says it supports up to 250lbs.

And then so as not to be bored there are audio workouts from www.cardiocoach.com and www.itrain.com!!! Which have been discussed alot in the last few days....

Found any you like Shelley?

Robin... beware....I have sent the Elliptical bug your way...}( :+ :7

Carole - after your glowing review, I'll check out the Nordictrack. I've also found a Schwinn that I like and a Smooth (both won Consumers Report Best buy type awards). It will all depend on what I can find here.

Shelley, I didn't really check around much like Michele (I feel she was very smart to do that). I specifically wanted a Space Saver type of Elliptical. I think any of Consumers Best would be great choices!! Can't wait til you can join us Elliptiheads...}( :+ :)

I'm an Elliptihead!! I finally belong somehwere!!:+

P.S. I'll never leave Cardiohateville, though--my first true home on the forum;)

About how many parts are there? (some ellipticals seem to come in a lot of pieces and take a long time to put together).

I do have Cardio Coach 1-4, and was thinking of using them for it.

Kathryn the Elliptical comes in 16 parts plus of course the screws, washers, etc to put it together. I am weird as I love to put things together. My DH helped in some places but he lacks patience...:)...He did help with the few screws that I had a problem with, and that is because I put the wrong ones in in the first place...:(...so they had to be taken out and then he got the right ones in for me. It took me a couple of hours. You do have the option of paying someone for $119.

Cardio Coaches would be good for the Elliptical. iTrains I like too (and they are cheaper than CC's). But some of the programs already on the Elliptical will kick your...well you know...:)
