Cardio Question? shorter vs. longer

I know I heard many times before that it's not the quantity but the quality or rather how hard you working out rather than the length of time that really helps your calorie burn, but if that's the case why is it that most of Cathe's weight loss rotations seem to emphasize longer cardio sessions? Not that I prefer one over the other I'm just curious?:D

I read that a lot, too. That's why I wish there were a plethora of 30-40 minute HIIT cardio workouts Out There. I've often thought I'm just running on fumes (and wasting effort) after about 35 minutes and, evidently, it wasn't all in my head.

Ahhh yes, that million dollar question! Here is a good article...

I think, just like everything else, it really depends on your body type as to what is going to give you the results that you want. I would also recommend investing in a good, reliable heart rate monitor (if you don't already have one) so you know where you heart rate is.
