I wasn't going that fast as my sprints were at about 7.7-7.9 and my regular pace was about 6.5-6.3 (depending on the incline). I did take some extra time to cool down (about 3-4 minutes), and the 8.25 was after cool down. I also think it is a lot easier to cover mileage on a treadmill.
I think the important thing (and how I've always trained for marathons) is how much time you log. When I was training, I knew my marathon pace, then figured out how long it's supposed to take me to run a certain distance and then just ran for that amount of time.
