Carageenan.....bad stuff

I've just been educated about Carageenan. I always thought it was healthy because it's derived from seaweed, but I recently found out it causes cancer and this has been known for a long time. It's in an awful lot of stuff you would not think of as unhealthy......various soymilks (silk for instance), low fat sour cream, breads, fake meat products, and just all kinds of stuff. The place I was reading about it was on my current favorite blog:

The women who writes this blog is a nutritionist, and she makes a good case against carageenan.
What a bummer, I guess it just keeps comming back to the closer things are to their natural form the healthier they are.

You can still use soymilk, just make your own. I've recently ordered a soymilk maker from www.soymilkquick.com. You can make tofu, yogurt, soymilk, almond milk, rick milk, etc, etc. And plus it fresh. YUM! All you need are soy beans and you're set!

Very cool, once you get it and try it out please post your results. I'd love to hear. Also, there are some soy milks out there you can buy that don't have carageenan, vitasoy has a clean ingredients list.
