Cantalope Recall

I also heard on the radio this morning about a recall for an organic baby food and Oscar Meyer ready to use prepacked chicken strips. I heard the chicken may cause Listeria. It's pretty scary all these sudden food recalls.

Another recall to add to the list:

BJ's recalls mushrooms on E. coli suspicion

I had also heard about the Louis Rich/Oscar Meyer chicken strips.

Interesting... I'm hoping that maybe this is just an improvement in the way we detect these viruses - not an increase in the viruses themselves. The mushrooms were pulled due to detection of the virus during a routine inspection - no one has gotten sick.

Salmonella is related to animal, but E. Coli is actually a bacteria that is found in our own bodies. It's one of the normal flora that helps maintain equilibrium in our digestive tract. Finding it in foods means that something somewhere was cross-contaminiated.
