Can weighted gloves be washed?

I think mine are sand filled or some like substance. They're really starting to stink. I'm too cheap to replace something that works perfectly well except makes me smell twice as bad after a workout. x(

Has anyone tried washing them? Maybe I could run them thru the gentle cycle & let them air dry? I just don't want to end up with a washing machine full of sand.

Before you throw them in the washing machine you might try hand washing them in gentle detergent or a mixture of hot water and baking soda. Use an old toothbrush or something similar to scrub them and then I would say let them air dry.

Maybe someone has some actual experience in this area? Not to accuse anyone of stinky gloves or anything.
