Hi guys, I haven't been on for a while, I amd the person who lost ten punds before the holidays, (well, I'm sure there's more than one)but anyway, I tried to keep to the plan of diet and exercise throughout the holiday, but alas succombed to the goodies and some cocktais ect... I was afraid to get back on the scale, on the first and though I had blown it but I actually lost 3 pounds. How is that possible??
I ate a great deal of "non clean food" and as I stated before cocktails and coffee. I just can't explain it, I thought it would catch up but it hasn't. I'm back on track now and lost another 1/2 pound, in a week. anyone have an answer? Anie

Only explanation I can give is a calorie is a calorie and you must not have been consuming more calories than you were expending. Cool Christmas gift!

Kim your probably right, but it seems like I ate an awful lot, however I should just be thankful and be quite, before the fitness gods hear me and think I'm complaining, lol. it just seemed very odd.

I think it explains That you can go off track ,but just for not very long LOL.I stayed the same during holidays , but I did more Cardio those couple weeks . Im so glad its over though . :D :D

If your exercise decreased as well, you could have dropped a bit of muscle too. This same phenomenon is what happened to me...except my loss was a heftier 10 pounds. Don't believe it. If you were eating crap and exercising less, the change can't be good (over the long haul)....

Anie,
I wish I had the answer as well b/c I always lose weight christmas time(thank god)and I never understand how I did it.
The only thing I can figure is we are always in a rush christmas time and no amount of eating can catch up with us.I am running too and fro that time of the year.I don't stop.I usually have a million things to do in the run of a day and I still manage to workout.
Its a terrible thing.....but don't worry, you are not totally alone!:)

I once lost a lot of weight when I greatly increased my calories. It was because I was eating too little and exercising too much. My body was in starvation mode. When I increased my calories, I think my body breathed a sigh of relief and let go of some of the pounds it had been holding on to in case of famine.

If you've still been exercising, you have a higher metabolism. It's easier to shed pounds and have those extra calories disappear.
