Can I use a DVD like a download?

My question is about the DVDs I currently own. Can I load them into itunes? Can I then play them on my computer without having the DVD in the drive? Can they be synced to my IPOD classic? And then play them on my IPOD classic?

Hi Beth,

I did this for a while instead of purchasing downloads. It requires that you convert the video from DVD format to iTunes (M4V) format. You can drag it into itunes and sync it to your device (I use an iPhone). It plays pretty well except you lose all of the chapter marks so you can't "skip". After downloading a few workouts, it is the only way I will purchase going forward. All of the chapters are available and I expect to create a lot of premixes with the workout blender.

Hope this helps.

That's too bad about losing the chapter marks. CD's import with their tracks intact. I really just wanted to import the extended stretch off of STS for when I travel.

I agree...I don't like the idea of re-purchasing the many dvds that I have, but I take my workouts to the gym with me and it was always challenging without the chapters. The software used to convert the dvd should be able to create a m4v for the extended stretch chapter only, so you should be good to go;)
