Ok, so I'm in a program to get my master's in exercise science. It's a year long cohort so basically I'm busting my @ss to keep up with the work. Because this program is tied into the NASM personal training program, I am required to get certified through them (even though I'm already certified through ACE). So, as part of this personal training class, I had to put myself through fitness assessment. Fair enough. Part of the assessment was to evaluate a client (myself in this case) doing a overhead squat (squat with arms overhead as if you're holding a bar), and a single leg squat. I had DH assess me (who is a strength and conditioning coach and has his doctorate in physical therapy). I had no compensations during the overhead squat (meaning that my knees didn't buckle, no problems), so I didn't record any. The instructor TOOK OFF POINTS because I didn't record any compensations!! In the grading rubrik he even made a point to question my assessments and why I didn't have compensations marked!!! Basically, I got a B on my mid term project because I know how to squat correctly!!! I'm just furious about this.
OK done. Thanks for listening!
