Can I get your advice on my rotation?

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this question. I've decided I'm going to kick my butt for the rest of December. :) What do you think of my rotation? Do you have any advice for me? My main goal, as most of you know, is definitely WEIGHT LOSS, and I also want to gain some strength.

Monday – Firm : Vol 1
Tuesday – Cathe Step 1 hour
Wednesday – Firm : Maximum Body Shaping (45 mins)
Thursday – Cathe Step 1 hour
Friday – Intense Moves
Saturday – Firm : Tough Tape 2 (45 mins)
Sunday – yoga

That's it. That's my little "rotation"! The Cathe's I have are Step Heat, Step Jam, and Step Works. I figure this way I'm getting in 3 strength workouts a week (and Monday counts as a little bit of cardio as well), and 3 aerobic workouts per week.

Any advice would be much appreciated!!!

Kay

Looks fine to me. I'd suggest going with it for two weeks and see if it needs tweaking (you might need to insert a rest day if you find yourself too tired during the week).

Hi Kay,

I'm not at all familiar with those Firm videos (only 1 I own is "Standing Legs") so I have no clue how "strenuous" they might be, I know "Standing Legs" is a mini trip through he**! But 3 days cardio + 3 days weights looks pretty good, so I guess see how you feel once you're in it and you can always tweek it to suit.

I posted this in our check-in but I don't think you saw it, have you decided to try pilates or not?

Hey Donna, well I did try a Pilates tape with Jennifer Kries but I just couldn't seem to get into it. Do you have any recommendations for a good tape? I feel like I'm just not getting the whole thing, I don't think I'm breathing right or using the right form or something.

The reason I asked was because I bought the Ana Caban 2-pk. beginners and intermediate pilates videos (also referred to as Living Arts) and I've gotten down the moves on the beginners video so rather than have it collect dust in a corner, I though I'd see if you were interested in it and I'd send it to you.
The beginner video includes about 8-10 min of instruction on form, how to hold your abs, etc., and breathing, then goes into about 20 min of basic (beginners) pilates moves. She shows a modification for each move with another woman on the video for those who's ab muscles aren't quite strong enough to hold some of the straight leg versions of the moves. I liked it because it's short and sweet, I can feel my abs getting some work, and it's easy to learn without taking up too much time. After you've viewed the first 8-10 min instructional part once or twice and feel comfortable with your form, you can fast forward right to the workout which is only 20 min.
It's good enough for me at this point! I'm not that focused on the pilates/yoga thing enough to invest a lot of time and/or money yet, so these quick workouts are just right for me.

So if you want the 1st video email me and let me know, you are welcomed to it. I haven't viewed the intermediate tape yet, but I guess I will tomorrow so I can begin doing that one. It's suppose to be just a slight step up from the beginner video?
But if you like the Ana Caban beginner video, you can get the intermediate one as a single from collagevideo.com.

Hi Donna, this sounds like it has a lot more instruction in it, which is what I need!! I e-mailed you regarding this.
