I really am soooo thankful for everything I've been truly blessed with. Good health, amazing family, a home that keeps us warm, etc. And this time of year it is that much more meaningful - which is why I feel so guilty about just wanting to cry!
Over the summer our basement flooded and we decided to re-do everything - including having it water proofed. When they began doing it in September they ran into a problem which required HAND DIGGING a 12-foot deep "moat" all around the house - which is not cheap. Well, the moat was finally filled in last week, though we have dirt, mud, and muck everywhere. No big deal - I can handle that. Also got the basement interior almost done - at least it's liveable until after the holidays.
Last night at dinner DH noticed a water mark on the ceiling ever our dining area. Long story short - today I ended up with a mini Niagara Falls running down the walls, which has now resulted in a huge hole cut into the ceiling and wall. I guess I just really need to keep it in perspective - because at least I have a home and family to help and the ability to physically clean up the mess - and Christmas is next week! I should just quit moaning - but I really just want to go cry. Sorry for venting. Just ugh.
