Calories burned?

I bought a heart rate moniter over the weekend and I wore it yesterday to do Gym Styles Chest&Tricep. However, I did the Timesaver premix (32min) and the heart rate moniter said my average heart rate was 82bpm and I burned only 36 calories. Does this sound right?
 
well, no, not really. Unless, you weren't working very hard at all. But, when I do weight workouts my hr isn't very high. They don't really (usually) give much of a calorie burn. The leads on your chest strap (I'm assuming that you have one.) might not have been moistened/damp. I always run my chest strap under a little water so that it can pick up my heart rate more easily.

Of course, you might just be that fit.
 
32 sounds pretty low For me the upper body workouts don't tend to burn many calories. I typically will get about 300 burned though. But it seems like you could walk around the house for 10 minutes and burn 32 calories.
 
It does seem low. I think it may have not had a good connection. I think you could burn 32 calories 30 minutes of sleeping!:D
 
Last night I did Gym Style Leg premix which was 33min long and the HR moniter said I burned 149 calories and average HR was 116 and max was 153. That sounds about right. Maybe I need to break it in! LOL
