Cabs and Abs - hump day hello!

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good morning, girls! :) :) :)

Thanks for the compliments on the pics. I wanted to post some over here but ran out of time in the morning. Glad you guys saw 'em.

Laura :: The sea was *gorgeous*…I could’ve stayed *much* longer! Nassau was not my cup of tea, but Castaway Cay was great…you could ride bikes, parasail, swim, lay out on adult-only beaches, etc…Well, I found this guy online and we have a little friendly correspondence going, so it'd be cool to stay in touch…IA ~ the calf worker is quite the burner!!

Di :: wow, that class *does* sound brutal! Great workouts, as usual. I bet you’re right. I looked into ellipticals and am seeing them to be quite a bit more expensive than my tm. I think I would use it more than the tm (which I dread), so I would put that in storage. I love the fact that it is no impact and think it would be a wise cross-training choice.

Wendy :: glad you’re liking the Bosu…I think I want one! *lol* Will be curious to hear how you use it…hope you’re feeling better rested today…I wiped out early, too, without doing some grading, which is bad. My grades are due this week, so I’m putting myself in a crunch. Guess I may have to work later tonight…No worries on the personals.

Angie :: What a wonderful idea to make the Christmas candy with MIL…you are such a thoughtful DIL…So are you goin’ around touching your pecs so you can feel the DOMS? :7 Cruising is *awesome*! I highly recommend it. I wouldn’t do Disney again because it truly is geared toward families with little ones. (Teens had their own hangouts and were pretty much *never* in sight.) …The vertigo seems to be gone. I am still supposed to schedule an appt. for an allergy test and for a second opinion with a neuro, but I sort of dropped the ball on those.

Last night, I did 4DS KB only and will save C&B for the weekend. A run and bi's & tri's is scheduled for tonight, but since I'm thinking I'll have to work a little later, I don't think I can squeeze in the run as I don't like to be out there in the dark. So, in all likelihood, I'll be developing a Plan B.

Have a GREAT day, ladies! Hope to BBL.

Morning Ladies ..

Happy Humpday ... my nerves are a bit on edge today .. one of our neighbors were robbed yesterday .. and we live way out in the country .. there is a gang that stakes out houses .. and robs you during the middle of the day when no one is home. x( .. I pray they get caught quick .. there were rampant about 6 months ago .. and w/gas prices and the Holidays coming up guess they are at it again .. or they ran out of cash for their drugs!!

that AND my baby dog is sick .. not sure what is going on w/him ;( .. he threw up Sat. real bad and acted strange .. would not eat yesterday morning .. but seemed much better last night .. then this morning he ate .. and I let him out watched him and he did his business .. then real quickly threw up again! ;( ;( .. now I am wondering if he has been throwing up a lot .. ??? ... bad thing is he is almost 7 years old .. the life expectancy of this large breed is 6 - 8 years old .. OMG .. ya'll will have to shoot me w/drugs if something happens to my baby!!! I get sick thinking about it .. going to have to make an appnt w/the vet and get him checked out!!;(

Cathy.. a little cyber correspondence is a good thing!!! your trip sounds like a total blast the more I hear about it!! Paradise ..ahhhh!

Wendy - hope you got your workout in you wanted .. sounds like you had a busy day

Di .. the meltdown class sounds WORSE than my classes!! I will have to tell my ladies that there is a class out there harder than mine .. to quit complaining!! LOL

Angie ... we used to make Christmas candy for our entire neighborhood .. but got burned out on it .. it was fun .. but so much work .. and so many calories b/c I had to taste all of it! LOL

OK . today is heavy legs in the gym at lunch .. then tonight is super cardio ... then it is a mad dash to check on my big baby dog! Pray he is going to be ok!!

have a great one!

Hi Ladies,

I woke up early today which is very unusual for me. DH was up early too but that's normal for him since he goes to work so early. At any rate we used our time wisely if you know what I mean.

I did BBC Legs and Cardio. I don't really care for Nadia at all. She is not the least bit motivating. I used a 30lb (what was already on the bar) barbell for the squats, plie squats and deadlifts. I felt like my form was bad trying to hold db's on my shoulders. I don't think they hear the music we do during the cardio segment either.

I've been trying to make an appt at my Dr. office for weeks and can never get through to the appt desk. Since I was up early I was able to get through-finally. I have an appt on the Dec 5th for them to do a physical, blood draw, and xray my feet again. The left one is really bothering me. I hope they don't cast it.

Cathy-So even teacher procrastinate:) That doesn't even sound like you. I'm sure you will get everything done in time. Glad to hear you've met someone. You just never know when these things will happen.

Laura-I'm so sorry to hear your baby dog is sick. Don't jump to any conclusions, let the vet give you a diagnosis before you panic. I'm not sure if the class is harder than yours, but it is really hard. Running up and down stairs is really tough too.

Angie-I always do the weights before the cardio-I always have. I get chilled in the basement after sweating and then am too uncomfortable to do the weights. My MIL, SIL and myself use to get together the day after Thanksgiving and make bows to put on Christmas packages. My MIL can make the most beautiful bows. I think it's great your spending that time with your MIL.

Wendy-hope you slept better last night. What are up to today. In our class, we had to do standing leg curls standing on the bosu. Yeah, let me tell ya, it wasn't a pretty site. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to simply stand on one leg and bend the other for reps. Doing it on the bosu is whole different experience. Good luck and let us know what kind of cool exercises you fing for the bosu.

Nancy-Hi Nanc-hope your day is great!!!

*yawn, stretch, grumble*

I just woke up a few minute ago from a 2 hour nap. I am now drinking coffee trying to become human. I had another bad night last night only MUCH worse then the night prior. I went to bed at 9:30 and didn't fall asleep with the exception of a few tiny cat naps until after 3am!!!! I was like the walking dead before! I feel better now but have that "first thing in the morning" grog to shake off still.

Needless to say, I haven't worked out yet and am quickly running out of time for it. I was going to give the bosu a shot today but there is no time for playin' around with new toys at this point. I think a short and sweet upper or lower body work out is an order.

Once again, no personals. x(
Hope to be back later to catch up though!

My work out is done!

Here's what I did using the purple dynaband (yeowch!):

GSBS&B:

warm up
*reverse grip chin ups
tback squeeze
*wide fly pull ups
modified back extensions
*o/h close grip chin ups
back side rotations
band lateral raise
band front raise
band reverse flys
*2 sets bicep curls with tubing

GSC&T:

push-ups
dips
band xbody extensions
band kick backs
stretch

*exercises I added in myself

This took me less then 45 minutes from w/u to stretch and was incredibly effective! That purple band means business baby!

GTG for now but hope to be back in a bit!:)

Good evening ladies

I'm looking forward to a day home tomorrow.:) Although, it looks like it's going to be snowy and cold. That's OK....I'm ready for the cold weather.
I got some more cleaning done at the shop, which is only about 3 years overdue. I still have so much more I could do, but my files are looking much better.
I got home and did S&H B&T. I was going to add on a coremax segment, but thought the abs add on at the end was good enough. Tomorrow is YogaX. Blech!

Cathy - *lol* I read you post about going around just touching my pecs and all I could picure was the Saturday Night Live Mary Catherine skits. *lol* ummmm....I know it's not quite the same....but it just cracked me up.
I thought the candy making adventure would make nice Christmas gifts too (so I am a little self serving) but it's also nice to see her pepped up about something. People are so hard to buy for anymore....and who doesn't like homemade treats? MIL is the best maker of unhealthy food! She stopped by today and gave me some carmel corn. She made a trial batch just to see if it was going to be any good. I munched on it all the way home and then tossed it to the kids and told them to eat it so I wouldn't scarf down the whole bag. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious!
So what w/o did you end up doing? Hopefully you'll get a relaxing weekend coming up so you can recharge your batteries. Things do get hectic coming back from a vacation.

Laura - The drama in your life is insane!!!}( First the psycho co-worker and now burglers?? I think I would be afraid all of the time. We live in a pretty rural place too, but we do have neighbors within running distance and things have been pretty calm around here despite the pathetic economic climate here. I feel for you girl! It must be such a stressful feeling wondering what the heck might happen when you are gone. Maybe your babies will help scare off any would-be intruders.
Definitely get your baby to the vet. You'll feel so much better...even if it turns out to be nothing. I just read that post in the open forum about poisonous things for pets and it just scared the crap out of me. I hope your pup gets through everything all right.

Diana - I don't like Nadia on BBC either. I don't reach for that one very much because of it. And you did that on top of all the torture in your melt down class? You are definitely wanting some pain this week aren't you?

Wendy - I haven't tried those purple bands yet. I need to drag those out....but the green ones burn like heck, so I can just imagine what the purple ones are going to be like.
I've been doing a search on platemates and I see you posted about these a while back. Did you ever end up buying them? Do you like them?
Hope you get your sleep pattern back on track.;-)

I'll check back with you girls tomorrow

Angie
