Morning, friends!

Di :: congrats to Jerod on being a third-time all-star selection!!! Was your DH a football talent, too?…I hope you’re both feeling a little better…Yes, that does make sense about how to learn the harder moves. Thanks for the tip!

Wendy :: yes, I think I should get there around noon or so…Can you TM me before the race starts with your bib # and what color you’re wearing to help me spot you? I’m going to try to position myself somewhere along that last mile to cheer you on and take pics and will then make my way to the finish line area. I was going to try to dress like a cheetah but the costume was $799, so yeah, that idea went out the window. *lol* The longer races I have done have had portapotties somewhere along the course. Then you have those runners who just take a leak in a bush somewhere, but we don't have that option now, do we? *lol*

I have a full body weight workout to do (still TBD) plus a short run a little later this morning, and then it's off to Wendy's race!

Have a great Sunday, everyone!!

Good Morning Girls.

I am eating my oatmeal like a good runner and basically waiting to leave in about 20 minutes. The race starts at 10.

Cathy: I will TM you after I check in at the race with my bib# and my outfit. DH will be milling around and will have his cell phone on him. I am going to PM you his cell #. If you are interested in some company (don't worry, he's not a serial killer or anything!LOL) you can call or TM him when you get there and maybe you 2 can manage to find one another. It's up to you though. He's prepared to hang alone for 2+ hours already so either way....

Ok, I'm outta here!

See y'all on the other side of that finish line!:7

Hi ladies,

I am feeling a little better this morning and will attempt one of the new workouts-leaning towards bootcamp and bi's & tri's.

Cathy-DH was a softball player in his younger days, he never played football.

Wendy-Good luck and have fun!! Don't forget to tell us all about it.

Angie-What you are up to today?

Laura-Are you around this weekend?

Mornin girls

Well last night after the banquet, we went to town to pick up some basketball shoes for Cody since his first game is Friday already. Then we got home and watched SeaBiscuit. That was a cool movie. I love Toby McGuire. It's been forever since DH and I have sat and watched a movie. Well, we got to bed late so I slept in. I'm not gonna be likin that alarm clock tomorrow morning.
Today I'll need to get my butt out to the trailer and get it unpacked for the year. So, all the food needs to go and everything needs to be squeeky clean for storage. Sounds like fun huh???

Wendy - you go girl!! I'm so happy for you. You certainly have overcome a lot this week to get where you are. I slept in again, so you are already on your way. Go!!!!!!!
As I figured, no one even noticed what I brought to the banquet....the place was packed. Cody was so cute.....the coach said some kind words about each kid before handing out trophies and you could just see the pride in his face. I felt just like I did when I was a kid and in the same situation with basketball.:) Strange how that feeling of pride is almost exactly the same whether they are talking about you or your kid. I wasn't really expecting that.
Hope the ipod gets you in the zone....you'll have miles gone behind you before you even notice.
Whew....good to know you won't have to wear "depends" on this run. LOL! That's something I probably wouldn't have even thought about, until I got there.

Diana - Congrats to Jarod on his all-star pick. I'll bet he's full of pride too. Do you have a football banquet in your future?
Now that you know you have a sinus infection, maybe you'll be getting over it quickly.
I'm gonna give the pilates a shot and see how I like it.....ya just never know. I'm kinda scared of MIC but am anxious to give it a shot:eek: I have MIS but don't reach for it often....not too sure why b/c it does do the job.
I got your PM. I will be sending out a check this week. I really do appreciate it....wasn't expecting all of them.;-) I'm sure I can find someone to introduce to Cathe and hope they will love it as much as we all do. Yes, we do have a lot in common....it's a little weird as to how much sometimes.;-)

Cathy - I'm not going to delve into that game site too much.....it may get me into too much trouble. As expected, Cam loved the bowling site....so did DH. Cam was hijacking my laptop last night for a while going back and forth from hangman to bowling.:)
I think I'll like squeeze. Tracy emailed me wanting to know how I found out about it. I love how Sean and Tracey do that....it's a nice touch. I think Cathe's following is much too large to do that but I also apprecite the personal touch on the boards too and the RT (from what I hear).
Sounds like you had a great run yesterday. Over 6 miles....wow! I'm impressed!
LIS does have some tricky moves in it. I can't remember now if it was LIC or HIS that had quite a bit of time facing away from the step which is something she has not really done before. She even made a comment about it when they were doing it. It will take me a while to catch on to that one too. Once I do, I know I will love it.
I have never TM'd anyone. I feel like such a tech dunce!
Still TBD??....you lost me....

Hey girls… :) :) :)

Back from the race…I’m cutting & pasting what I posted over at the cheetahs: Would you believe I arrived 2-3 minutes AFTER Wendy crossed the finish??? I should’ve left earlier!! I swear, I hit *every* stinkin' red light. Needless to say, she did GREAT! But I'll leave it to her to give you the details. Afterward, she, DH, and I went for lunch at a diner.

This morning I mished and moshed with:
4DS Legs (round #1 and 2 only)
Push/Pull push only premix (sans legs or back work - the latter of which has been a bit tight the past few days) - went heavy
2.5 mile run, which included 3 (giant) hill repeats
150 walking lunges

I'm starting to feel a little DOMS in the bi's.

Wendy :: GREAT job today ~ congrats on accomplishing a new milestone!! It was cool to hang out some again and to meet DH. Hope you enjoyed your CAB and some well-earned zzzzz’s tonight.

Diana :: hope you had a great time breakin' in the new w/outs!

Angie :: glad you all enjoyed last night’s banquet and the recognition for Cody…Oh, ya gotta try that Pacman spinoff game. It’s good!!!!…Sorry ~ TBD is “to be determined.” Hope it didn't take too long to get the cleaning done.

I still have a bit of work to do, but I am pooped. I will do some reading (for the cert process) in a little bit, but I think that's it. The drive lulled me into sleepiness.

Hi Cabbers!

I've cut and pasted my race report here so that I don't have it re-type it 1000 times! LOL

The race went well. What an amazing sense of accomplishment I feel right now. Those who've done it know what I mean. Those who haven't need to give it a shot! I came in faster then I thought I would! The official results/pics aren't up yet but DH was VIDEO TAPING it (YIKES!) and I appeared to have come in at 2 hours 30 min and 27 secs!!! I really thought I'd be closer to 2:45! Needless to say I was VERY pleased with my time!

The first 10 miles of the race went very very well. I was keeping an average of a 10:30 pace through the entire first half and lots of the way through the 10 mile mark. My legs were obviously sore by mile 10 but it was very tolerable and beyond that I felt fine. I was still able to kick out the 10:30 pace so I knew I was okay. After that I started to fade. Mile 11 was where it started to get tough cause I started noticing the first signs of my leg cramping up. YEOWCH!!!

Into the final mile I was in ALOT of pain. I have never felt anything like it. My legs were soooo sore and the cramping was making it almost unbearable. I kept pushing though. I took only one single unscheduled (additional) minute walking break in the last mile or so to help ease out a cramp that would have stopped me in my tracks if I let it take hold. By this time though it seemed as if, overall, walking hurt MORE then running! I found it odd but used it as motivation to continue to run when that minute "break" was up. By the last mile I was lucky to be doing a 12 minute mile most of the time. I was so afraid that my legs were gonna give out and I was gonna down before I finished. I couldn't let that happen! I went as slow as I had to (but still running) in order to make it across that finish line. I REFUSED to walk across it!

When it was over I wanted to cry. It was emotional to finish something so awesome but more so it was the pain in my lower body. They had been giving out gatorade at the finish but ran out so while I kept moving to try and walk it off or atleast avoid it getting worse, DH went and got me a bottle of gatorade. I am not a fan of the stuff but I never drank that stuff so fast in my life!!!! It took about 15 minutes once I started drinking it for the real pain to subside and I was left with the regular and expected soreness in my hips/legs.

When I was approaching the finish I was looking for Cathy and DH. I found DH but there was not hide nor hair of Cathy! A few minutes after the finish I TM'd her and we realized she had missed me by a couple of minutes. We finally found one another and was I surprised! She made a poster (that I am sure she planned to hold up as I passed her, LOL) AND bought me a little stuffed animal Cheetah!!! Soooo incredibley sweet! I couldn't believe it! The poster is decorated in cheetah stuff and says "Go Wendy! Kick it!" and on the back it says something like "What's next? 26.2!" with a smiley face! I am going to frame it and hang it in my work out room for certain and the stuffed Cheetah be right there with it!

We had a nice visit at the diner over lunch. I just wish we had more time but Cathy had work to do and I had to get home in time to rest/shower before having to pick up DS. It was so great to have her there though!

Cathy: Would you believe that I never DID get my beer!? We never passed a place and I had forgotten about by the time we got home! LOL Heading to mom's for dinner though and she usually has Coor's light on hand so I think I'll have one there. :) Thanks again for coming! It made the day even more special!:D

Gotta go...we are late in heading out to my mom's for supper!

RE: Cabs & Abs ~ what a beautiful day...for an HM! ~ S...

Congratulations Wendy-I am so proud of you. What an accomplishment. You can expect to be sore for a few days and will probably want to limit your running to simple 1-2 mile recovery runs until you feel up to running again. You rock!!!!!

Cathy-Sorry you missed Wendy at the finish line, that must've been disappointing. We are all lucky to know someone as kind and generous as you. It sounds like you met up and enjoyed lunch anyhow.

I did bootcamp with bi's & tri's and threw in the abs from kickbox. I really liked bootcamp and the time flew by. I think in the future I will do 2 cardio's for an hour w/o. Of course I need to learn the choreography first, and get rid of this sinus infection. I also previewed the heavy leg segment.

Angie-oh, you have to give MIC a try. It sneaks up on you so be warned. I am always so happy when the step section starts. We have our football banquet this next weekend.

Evening girls

Congratulations Wendy!!! I knew you were gonna do a great job.
champagne-088.gif

I'll bet you'll sleep like a baby tonight. I hope you have tomorrow off since you might have some soreness. Kinda like a trophy for a job well done.:D

Cathy - How super sweet of you to meet up with Wendy. I'm so jealous that you guys live close enough together to do that.
I didn't get the trailer cleaned. DH and I had a disagreement about the employee situation and I just decided to be pi$$ed all day and not do much of anything productive. Geez - I can be such a stubborn beeiotch.

Diana - My cardio day will be Tuesday but I've gotta give the new bootcamp a shot. Today was rest day so now that's the only one I haven't done of the new ones. I'm thinking I'll be able to lift extra heavy tomorrow if things don't change by then. Hopefully I'll be able to slip MIC in there somewhere next week. This new series is kinda messing with my pre-planned X/Cathe rotation.
The abs from KB are tough! Love it!

I'm mad....so I'm off to ebay to go shopping!!}(

Thank you sooo much Diana and Angie! I am on cloud nine STILL! My hips are toes are sooooo very sore. I am limping around like crazy and am sure to be doing the same tomorrow but it was soooo worth it!

I'm heading to bed now. I was never able to catch a nap. I laid down this afternoon for a snooze but never fell asleep!x(

I'm beat! LOL

I'll be back in the morning though.

Nighty night girls!:*
