Well, can you tell I am dying for the weekend to get here? I have class on Saturday, but other than that, I deliberately made no other plans and am looking forward to being dead-to-the-world for a bit.

Laura :: sorry to hear about the burglaries by you…think your dogs might scare ‘em away? Do you keep them in the house or in the yard?…Sorry, too, that one of them is ill…maybe a stomach virus?

Di :: cracked up at using your time wisely yesterday morning. :) …I’m not really crazy about Nadia or the leg workout, either. I’m glad you were able to get through and get those appointments. Is the foot pain from your bunion?…Yes, I do procrastinate sometimes :)…I used to be worse when I was in college…teaching forces you to become more organized, I think…but in this instance, the cruise set me back a little…I just have one last set of papers to grade, so I will make my deadline.

Wendy :: how you feeling today? Well-rested, I hope…I’m lovin’ the purple bands, too. Haven’t been using the green anymore. So is your current plan a combination of the pullup bar + bands, no weights?...I blew up the Bosu last night and tried some of the exercises in the ski magazine. Couldn't do one of 'em. Tough!

Angie :: enjoy your day home today! I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I can make a dent in my filing…*lol* ‘bout the SNL skits…IA there is something special about home-baked gifts…I ended up NOT working out…I graded for almost 4 hours in the afternoon/evening, and by the time I wrapped up, I was too tired for anything else. I’ve felt a tiny bit sluggish this week, and I’ve figured out it’s not really post-vaca drag – I’m flirting with a little cold. I’ve heard two people from the groom’s side are sick, and my mom has a cold. Considering we were around A LOT of little children, I can see it. I’m thinking I can keep it at bay…I know you asked this of Wendy, but I have Platemates as well, and I do use and like them…it’s a good way not to have to keep buying every size dumbbell.

Oh, by the way, as far as my cruise friend, I didn't hear anything yesterday and kinda have the feeling that's it. He's too good-looking, too far away, and well, probably too young. That's OK. I had more fun than I expected to on a Disney ship, so all is good.

Well, I now need to make up C&B, a run, and bi’s & tri’s, so I don’t know what exactly I will do for a w/out this afternoon, but I know will be doing *something*! I hate that I am getting home in the dark lately. I have a chiro appt., so if I want to run, it'll have to be the blasted dreadmill. We'll see. *lol*

I finally slept good last night. Thank god!

This morning it will be the bosu for me. I found some exercises online so I'll be doing the lower body and core work they listed. I'll let you know how it goes. :p After that, the plan is to head to the gym for a run. :)

Cathy, I am doing all bodyweight and band/tubing work. I haven't picked up a dumbbell or my barbell since the end of October with the exception of very light weight for a few exercises in Core Syn. That was before I made the actual "iron free" decision though. I am loving the change. It's too early tell how my body feels about it but if the X gives you the bands only options it can't be bad, right? :)

Laura, Sorry about the robbery so close to home. How scarey. My house was robbed once years back when I was a kid. I hope they stay away from your house. (((hugs)))

Diana, Nadia seems to be the least fave of the instructors in the BC series. I use the music off option when I do those work outs. That song is like nails on a chalk board. They always play it too loud and it's quite annoying as it's THE ONLY song on EVERY work out! YIKES! I love work outs but the production quality is awful when compared to our beloved Cathe. I too hope they do not cast your foot. Glad you were finally able to get an appointment. LOL on spending time "wisely". You sound like Laura!}( :7 ;) DH and I will do that on the rare occassions that we are both awake in the early hours before work.

Angie: I don't normally use the purple band for anything but firewalkers right now but considering I was ONLY doing the bodyweight and bandwork, I had to give it a shot. It was doable but my oh my what a burn!}( I don't need to use purple when I am doing the FULL work out. TRUST ME! LOL I finally gave in and bought the plate mates and like them and then read a post in O/D about Pace Weights. They come in 1/2 pound increments and are alot cheaper then plate mates. If you are considering the plate mates, check out the pace weights first! I was too late. x(

YEAY, I finally got to personals. Now it's off to my work out before DS decides he's had enough and wants out!:7

Well, the bosu plan didn't work out very well. I'm clueless. I need to buy a dvd. Soooo...here's what I ended up doing instead:

100 walking lunges (25 regular + 25 pulsing x 2 sets)
50 inner thigh lifts per leg using purple band
20 firewalkers using purple band
50 body weight squats
20 forward pulsing alternating lunges
20 rear alternating lunges
lunge/squat combo 5x per side
75 inner thigh lifts per leg w/o band

I added on 1/2 of 4DSKB core work at the end along with that stretch. I will head to the gym at some point this morning for a run of undetermined length. }(

Hi Ladies,

I will be doing BBC Chest and Abs this morning, after I take DS to school. He has a dentist appt this afternoon and I don't have any way to bring home his bike if he rides it school today.

My calves are killin' me this morning. There's only one section of calf raises in the wo I did yesterday. It could be from all the football runs too!

Cathy-C&B, bi's & tri's-what's a girl to do. I hate that its dark early too. Just cuz you didn't from your cruise friend for one day doesn't mean you should give up on him. You have the right attitude though-you had a great time on the cruise no matter what. The pain is from a stress fracture that I think is being irritated by all the high impact cardio and the meltdown class I'm doing. I doesn't ususally hurt when I'm working out, but later-after sitting for awhile or first thing in the morning.

Wendy-have fun with the bosu today. Can you tell me where you bought your purple band from? I only have the green dynaband and a black band (20lb resistance). I have used the black band for some of the X exercises.

I finished my workout and the cardio on the chest & abs seems to be the easiest so far (cardio wise). But let me tell you my calves we on fire during the one legged hops and my buns were on fire during the kicks. I was also thinking about doing step blast or BM2 but decided against it since I still have class tonight. Wish me luck that we don't have to run stairs tonight!

Wendy-good luck with the bosu. You can do a lot of standard exercises on the Bosu. Simply standing on the bosu (which is not an easy feat) you can do squats, overhead presses, bicep curls, overhead tricep extensions, side lateral raises etc. You can also do pushups with you hands on the bosu, feet on the floor or feet on the bosu and hands on the floor. I'm sitting here wondering if DH bagged his buck this morning. I'm kinda hoping he didn't b/c I don't have much room in my freezer.
I just got yogaX out of the way so I don't have to dread doing it anymore.:) My legs are feeling it! Tomorrow will be LL...which will be a new one for me. I'll bet my legs will be feelin it tomorrow too.:7

Cathy - Nothing's better than down time after being on the go. I'lll bet you are looking forward to a silent Sunday.;-) Some well deserved rest should help keep that cold at bay.

Diana - You are one brave girl to do those workouts before you go to your melt down class, especially not knowing exactly what you will be doing there. That's gotta be a great kick to your body though.
I bought my purple bands on fwonline.com I just got 2 of them in the mail last week.....haven't had a chance to use them yet.
Your stress fx sounds painful. I hope they can help you out with that.
A BBC week sounds like a great idea.....maybe after this rotation I'll have to try that too.

I did 45 mins of ITread 14/60 for a 4.37 mile run. I'm whooped. It's yoga time tmrw for sure. :)

Diana, Thanks for the website. I will check it out. I bought my dynabands from www.fwonline.com. I am actually going to pick up the 4th and final resistance level of silver and I think I will also order one of their BOSU dvds anyway. I'd like to have something to follow along with regardless. I know how you feel with the calf pain during Joey's cardio segment. I already had sore calves when I had to do that cardio once and OMG I could barely get through it! LOL

Hello Ladies ..

I am late today .. crazy day!

My brother (the Sheriff)has some leads on the robberies .. I hope he catches these low lifes! His dept. had a HUGE drug bust Tuesday .. 57 KILOS of cocaine!! search done on a routine traffic stop! I am so proud of him and his guys .. but they take so much crap from stupid people in this county!

My baby dog seems a bit better .. I found a bad tooth on him .. and I am thinking that could be what is going on. We are going to make an appnt for him next week after watching him close all weekend! His stomach is not upset .. so that is good .. maybe it is just the tooth!

Super cardio was awesome last night .. today had my hair done at lunch .. put low lites in .. still not as dark as I was wanting but it is better .. I should have written down the color I liked that one time .. but I can't for the life of me remember and she does not either!! :-(

Tonight is 4 step TORTURE class .. think I am canceling all the classes next week due to the Holidays .. classes will be slim and I have a million things to do . and w/the robberies and my baby dog being sickly .. I want to get on home!

Wendy .. I tried the bosu .. did not like it. I just gave mine and the videos away ... dang it!

Cathy .. maybe you will hear from Loveboat guy! LOL ... but if not .. hey you had fun .. he made the Disney cruise a good time .. that is always a good thing!!

DH is going to be right there with them ... so will DB and SIL .. did I tell ya'll she is a HUGE hunter .. shoots better than most men!! she and DH compete each year on the biggest and the most killed! silly people~!:+

Hey girls…

I am not in a good place right now in terms of my energy level. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I feel…zapped. I mentioned to Angie in my initial post that I seem to be flirting with a little bug of some sort – I’m headach-y and sinus-y and scratchy in my throat and am thinkin’ I just want to snooze for a bit, which I will do even though I know that could be disastrous for my workout potential tonight. So be it – I’m beat! And still dealing with the vertigo thing sometimes, too. Now THAT’S a weird feeling! (Got it right now, actually.)

Di :: oh man, I hope the fracture doesn’t sideline you for long…Fingers crossed for no stair runs tonight...Only a few more weeks and I will be heading out your way to hit some powder!…thanks for that BOSU link you posted to Wendy.

Angie :: I can’t wait til you try LL!!!…Yes, I did buy a BOSU…I was intrigued when Wendy bought hers and thought I’d wait and see what she thought of it…then on the plane, I read an article about how great it is for improving on the slopes, so I decided to invest. I need to strengthen my core especially. I think it’s always been my weakest link…I finally finished my grading today. Whew!...Good job with YogaX...that one is tough for me to get through. I get bored with it.

Laura :: glad to hear DB is on the case…and that it appears DDoggie’s troubles don’t seem to be serious…that was quite a bust for DB & team. Have fun torturing the girls tonight!

Wendy :: glad you got a good night’s sleep and that you’re enjoying the band work. I bought the silver but haven’t tried it out yet. The purple is plenty challenging for me for now...Yeah, the music is, I think, the biggest negative on BBC...Good to know about the Pace weights...Check out youtube.com for some BOSU vids. Train? Tonight? Wha?

Wendy .. I wish I had not gotten rid of my bosu and tapes .. I did so b-4 you mentioned getting one.. I could have given you mine and the tapes free!!!

I have the Reebok Board .. have you heard of it?? It is a stabilization board and it is so much better than the Bosu .. it came w/three videos .. and they have not done any more (they are good at that) .. but it is an excellent balance workout ..and pushups done on the board bring a new perspective to a reg. pushup ... SOOOOOOO much harder and killer ab workout along w/it!

One side note on the Bosu (or board) .. look for some initial DOMS in unexpected places .. like your ankles and feet .. and inner and outter thighs!!:eek:

Cathy .. I hope you get to feeling better .. it is best to rest .. sounds like if you push and get hot right now you may really stir that bug up!!
