Cathlete
Good morning, everyone! :7 :7 :7

Wendi :: http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_bdayballons.gif Hope you enjoy your special day, whatever you decide to do.

Posh :: love when you get to pop in. :7 It's nice to hear from ya!

Gloria :: That's what I've done with those books, too, but I would like to delve into them a little more...So, does your new iPod have video capability, too?

Today was originally to be some leg work and a run, but I'm going to sub another cardio rather than run 3 days in a row.

http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/greetingsandsigns/th_thought-5.gif

Good morning Cathy and all who follow!

So my wacky run that I was contemplating has been bagged for today. 150% humidity???...NO way lol! I don't like running in soup...blech! I do look forward to doing that in the very near future though.

So, I'm not quite sure what to do for today. I actually had decided on Viper, followed by CF finished combos and power circuits, then HSC abs. But I woke up to a Barry's Bootcamp infomercial for his new series and got to thinking that maybe I should give the original series a try to change things up. I just don't know what to do x(. Any suggestions? I'm looking to get 4-5lbs off before the first RT, which I know I can do, especially if I stay on track with the eating.

Cathy - I think you've got the right idea about not running today. How about some kickboxing or some BC drills? How is your back today? Thanks for the bday wishes. Probably not doing anything special. DSO and I actually celebrated this weekend cuz I wasn't sure if I was going to have a day off this week since we're short on barn help. We'll probably just go to lunch or somethng today.

Gonna go peruse the forums for a bit while I wake up and enjoy my very yummy pecan swirl java :9. TTFN!

Good Morning Ladies!:)

And so I did personals y'day afternoon, neglected to copy the post and *LOST IT*! UGH!x( I did not have time to re-do them so here we go again....:p

Cathy: *LOVE* the thread title today. Incredibly easy to spot!;) I would not be in favor of a run 3 days in a row either. Scarey stuff you posted about y'day. No matter where you live and how safe you think you are, it seems one always needs to watch their back cause ya never know when some sicko is lurking in the shadows. I rarely run the streets around here anymore as it makes DH nervous. The only place I really run outside anymore is at the park or in my races. Guess it's a good thing that I don't mind the treadmill.

Judy: You were very good about sticking to NROLW thru 4 stages. If you want to change it up, don't feel bad at all. I say, go for it!}(

Christine: Glad you are feeling better.

Gloria: OMG, I about died when I read that you are downloading music w/no high speed internet connection. Come on down. You can borrow mine anytime. ;)

Carole: Buying salmon is my *only* option! :p

Jackie: 30 Day Shread is another one on my wish list. Glad you enjoyed it.

Wendi: I don't think DH did good at Lilac. He had fun though. It's kinda like me and racing. I enjoy even though I am not good enough to win anything. :7 Keep me posted on the Philly half! }(

Gotta work the early shift today and then it's an upper body only kb work out for me.

BBL~

Hey, birthday girl! http://forum.rscnet.org/images/smilies/birthday.gif

I say, it's *your* day -- do whatever you feel like doing. Just roll with whatever your whims are & don't think too hard. :) :) :) ...150% humidity?! http://images.dvdtalk.com/images/smilies/eek.gif *guffaws* What are they doing to us??? :7...Haven't thought about the cardio just yet. My back isn't right, but it's OK. I'll probably stay away from anything with impact, though. Thank you for asking...When *is* the RT, BTW? :) :) :)

ETA: Wendy :: Ahh, the personals gremlin gotcha again. Don'tcha just hate that...Yeah, I miss the days when I was able to run five days straight.

Cathy - *GULP* the RTs are 7/25 and 8/8. Me's gots some work to do  lol! I'll be seeing you at one, right ;)???? Sorry your back is still bothering you...yeah, probably best to keep the impact low. I *think* I'm going to start with one of the BBCs and then, if it doesn't feel like enough, I'll add a Cathe on }(.

Wendy - I'm glad DH had a good time. That is a TOUGH tourny. Um, girl, you're getting faster and faster all the time! Hope work flies by for ya.

Wendi :: I hope so. I'd probably forgo the step class, but I would love to meet up, perhaps for a late breakfast/early lunch after? We'll work out something. You got me chuckling about it not feeling like "enough." You're always adding on, woman! No doubt those LBs you want to lose will melt right off. I need you to tell me your (and your cat's! :)) secret.

Jackie :: Oh, I figured out why the ibuprofen didn't do jack for me yesterday. :) I saw the bottle this morning and it dawned on me that I'd taken IMMODIUM. http://clubscuderia.com/forum/images/smilies/goofy.gif *lolol* Yeah, I am getting my eyes checked today. Seriously. :7

Good Morning! :)

Posh: Good to see you! :)

Wendi: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :) I am sure you will have a blast at a Cathe step class. Good idea to bag the run! We are having sticky conditions too.

Cathy: I think if I was actually running a marathon I would read the books through. Whatever you decide today, have fun! Good idea to rule out the high impact. Yes, my ipod has video capability. Glad the back is better. LOL about you not actually taking the ibuprofen!!

Wendy: I would be mad too if I lost personals. Luckily, I never have. I don't have dial up, but Internet through my cell phone. It is about 5 times faster than dial up. I downloaded a cd from itunes last night and thankfully it didn't take too long. Thanks for the invite! :) Enjoy the upper body work.

I have to tutor at 10, hit the store and then I will come home for a workout of some sort. Have a super day! :)

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Wendi - http://animations.fg-a.com/birthd_002sm2.gif Glad to hear I did not miss it!! Hope your day is fantabulous!! Enjoy it! I’m sorry you had to bag your wacky run! That’s no fun for the birthday girl! Oooh – a pecan swirl java? Honey I’m on my way! I have my odds on you for the 5 pounds. You can do it girl!

Cathy – enjoy your cardio and take a rest from running. That’s probably what got you yesterday – running and run/walking two days in a row! You are so not in over your head. Doubts creep in, you have to keep reminding yourself that you can do this! What is it with us Cheetahs? We seem to have injuries in pairs. Sorry to hear about your back. Do something that feels good. I guess Immodium wouldn’t help! Hope the Advil helps today! It certainly helps me.

Wendy – Which upper body only kb workout are you doing? Don’t you hate it when you lose your post? Ick.

Gloria – Is your race Sat or Sun? I’ll be thinking of ya, cheering you one! That deal with STS sounds great. Lazing around the house sounds wonderful! I cannot believe you are downloading via dialup! Ouch! How do you even manage to log on to these boards without losing your mind? I’m impressed.

Carole – It’s supposed to be even hotter today. *sighs* I just thank heaven for air conditioning! The cooking day paid off – the Greek Chicken Thighs were to die for last night. Even DH said they were the best chicken he’s ever had. :p How was the massage?

Jackie – I am enjoying feeling better! Are you enjoying 30 Day Shred? I’ve heard really good things about it. I would love Torres’s abs, too! Absolutely amazing.

Posh – so GOOD to hear from you! Sorry the smoke is still bad – it’s back to being bad here as well. Ick. We’re always glad when you check in! A spin class, sauna and Jacuzzi sounds like heaven! But, not, I guess, when you want to be running.

Today will be Steve Webber’s EKB Abs only, and Spinervals Have Mercy (most of it). The only good thing about how hot it will be is that I do not get hungry in this weather. I don’t feel like doing much of anything, actually. Which is why I’m up before the birdies for a workout! :p Jimmy gets a hair cut this afternoon. He’ll go to doggie day care in the AM, and will get his hair cut at 1:30. Just a trim (we took poor Kimo to another place and they shaved her – sorry but I think nothing looks worse than a furry dog who has been shaved – poor thing looks like a cancer patient). Have a great day all!

Good morning cheetahs

WENDI!!!!

http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z27/glitterfy_com-1/graphics/33/confetti.gif[/img]

Cathy...ah thanks..:) you are too sweet! I think you should try for 13 this sunday. I am a huge Morgan Freeman fan myself. Enjoy your legwork and cardio.

Gloria...we have red dirt that acts like your sand and gets every where! Bucket List was a cool movie. Glad you are enjoying your new iPod.

Wendi...the good thing about our heat (if there is something good!) is it is not real humid. We have this for a couple more days...the massage was great. 150% humidity?? YIKES!!! I have always read circuits were good for weight loss, so maybe a circuit today. Which RT are you going on? Hope you have a great B-Day.

Wendy..enjoy your upper body kb workout.

Christine...We are supposed to have over 110 for a few days...YUK...Sounds like an awesome dinner! The massage was wonderful, she does great getting all the kinks out..:)...That is true about the heat and our appetite, I have been drinking water like crazy. So Kimo got shaved? I bet she will be cooler...Enjoy your workout.

Today is legwork, half of Abs/core and IntervalX+.

Have a great day...:)

Gloria :: >>I think if I was actually running a marathon I would read the books through.<< *lol* Good point. :) Very cool that you have video. Eventually, I know I'll want to upgrade...I am trying to transfer my music from the old laptop to the iTunes on this one and then planned to upload a CC to try for today's workout, but it has been a slow-going process. Not sure I know what I'm doing. :7

Christine :: Two days in a row is never a problem...I may have done something while lifting or working core, I don't know. I did heavy up w/ weights and worked the core hard a few days in a row. Anything's possible. But taking the right meds today should help. *lol* :7 I usually want to eat less in the summer, too. But not this year. Seems nothing is stopping my appetite these days. :p

Carole :: thanks for the advice -- that's what I was thinkin', too...I saw Morgan in Lucky Number Slevin the other day, and he was NOT a good character. Unusual to see him like that...Hopefully no yard work for you today in that heat...Enjoy your workout. :) According to the weather man, we are getting a "cold front." Friday will be 87. Gotta love their humor. :)

hi, hi, hi, hi!!! i'm baaaaack (at least until friday)!http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_1_40.gif

i feel so out of the cheetah loop! *sigh*

i only worked out once while i was there (iStrength and iTread sprints #13) and ate like a total pig! oh well. i am not even getting on the scale until i get back from aruba!

i guess the best thing would be to start personals from this point on.

wt-running three days in a row might be a bit much. maybe some ext work?

wendi-happy birthday, girl! i hope you get to enjoy it and don't have to work too hard. smart thing celebrating this past weekend! i agree with cathy about doing whatever the heck you feel like or doing nothing at all! it's YOUR day!

wendy-i have been lucky lately and not lost any posts. it's THE WORST wehen you spend time doing personals and then *poof* off they go into cyberspace!

gloria-have fun shopping. tutoring is a nice way to get extra cash. i don't do it much, but usually tutor one or two kids a year.

christine-"spinervals have mercy"?!?! omg, that sounds scary!

carole-we have the red clay/red dirt as well. it gets over EVERYTHING and the dogs always bring it in. i dont have dust in my house, i have red dust!

i am not sure what my workout will be. since i don't know what i'll e doing in aruba (but the hotel is suppose to have a really nice gym), i might change it up and do some circuit work. i guess i'll decide when i get downstairs. i DEFINITELY need to do something tough!

okay, so YOU KNOW i have to brag about how gorgeous my niece and nephew are. here are some pics (i really look like crap in most of them, but nxt to those two, i think anyone would look second rate...not that i'm biased!!!):

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh292/Lederr/YoungJooLorieScott7-08.jpg

btw, my nephew just turned five months old and he weighs TWENTY TWO POUNDS!!! he is wearing 2T TWO YEAR OLD CLOTHES!!! can we say linebacker?!?!

Hiya babes!

Thanks for the bday wishes all...you gals are the bestest :+:D!

So, inspired by the BBC infomercial, I decided to give Chest and Back a go, and, since I DESPISE the BBC music, I put B&G on in my bedroom and cranked the "music louder" option so I had something a little more inspiring to listen to. Well, let's just say the inspiration only lasted through the warm up and the first 2 min of the non-TM cardio. I was almost instantly bored :(. Maybe I'll do better with the weight portions but, for right now, I really need to hit the cardio.

So I ended up doing BOSU Viper and HSC core. SOOOOO much more fun!!!!

Cathy - LOL about the "cold front"...yeah, right! I think you may be onto something about all the lifting and core work this week. I hope it passes soon. Funny thing about my cat...so I took him off the "indoor" weight management food that he's been on for the past two years and switched him to a higher lean protein, lower fat and lower carb food that has very little filler/meat byproducts and, voila! I guess the principles of clean eating apply to cats, too :p. Thanks for the encouragement, hon! Let's see what all us east coasters can arrange for the RTs :).

Gloria - Thanks! Live Cathe classes are a BLAST! I can't wait. Enjoy whatever workout you cook up...I know it'll be a goodie.

Christine - Thanks sweetie! You wanna pass that lack of appetite on over here :p? I used to be that way with the heat but, for some reason, I haven't found that to be the case lately :(. Oh, BTW, I still have dial-up ;) and downloading music just plain sux x(. Enjoy your workout and stay cool! Ooooh, that chicken sounds delish....care to share???

Carole - Awww, thanks hon! Obviously, it's not *quite* 150% but it sure feels like it ;). Well, it's a good thing that I LOVE circuits and that was going to be my plan for this week :D. Thanks for the tip! I'm going to try to get down there for both Friday classes...keeping my fingers crossed. Great workout you have on tap. I hope you're not going to try to do any yardwork .

Lorie - Welcome back!!! AWWWWWWW....they are beautiful, and so are you chickie! Your nephew certainly is a big boy . Enjoy whatever workout you pick for today!

Gotta get moving and meet DSO for lunch. Have a great day ladies!

Lorie :: welcome back!! Missed you while you were away. Glad you enjoyed yourselves. Oh my goodness, too, too cute! Thanks for sharing the pics. Your nephew is quite the bruiser! And I love the top you're wearing. Arden B? :) Looking mahvelous!...Yeah, I don't run more than two days in a row anymore. Maybe if and when I ever get back down to fightin' weight, it'll be possible to increase again! *lol*...I can just imagine what a run on the beaches of Aruba will be like. *sigh* :)

Wendi :: Sorry the BBC workout wasn't your speed. I like some of the workouts better than others. I guess nothing compares to your *insane-in-the-membrane* mish-moshes! :7 That is funny about your cat's clean eating regimen. You're most welcome, dear. Now I just need to kick myself in the derriere and practice some self-restraint. :) Have a great b'day lunch!

I opted for iTread #27 Ski Circuit, which incorporates some screamin' leg work. There is some plyo in it, but I took that to the BOSU. Back feels alright. Wanted to add the drills from KM, but my DVD is MIA! *gasp*

"Do you want to feel my spatula?" Run, Fat Boy, Run

Christine: My race is Saturday. I will be thinking of you too. :) I am actually downloading via my cell phone. It isn't quite as fast as high speed, but 5 times faster than dial up. It isn't too bad. I did pretty good on the eating yesterday, so I am happy. I do not like shaved dogs either. I bet Jimmie will be looking handsome after his hair cut!

Carole: I too have been drinking a lot of water. I also love those Odawalla Smoothies. I drink them over ice. Enjoy your workout today! I have not had a massage in a loooong time.

Cathy: I hear you on the tech stuff! We will be getting professional development with the HP grant, so hopefully I will learn some things to make my life easier. I have not used the video yet. Last night when I downloaded from itunes, I had no problems with the process. After I downloaded it though, I can't find my CCs anywhere! They are on my list on itunes though. More troubleshooting today. Fabulous workout by the way. I try not to run more than two days in a row too. I am not a young pup any more! LOL!:)

Lorie: You have been missed! Welcome back. :) I am liking the tutoring. She is a sweet, funny little girl. You and the children are BEAUTIFUL!!! How nice you spent so much time with them. I don't usually work out on vacation either. Aruba! How fantastic!

Wendi: You are a beast with that workout today! Great! I am thinking the original BC or HSC for me today. Enjoy your birthday lunch with DSO.

I am going to be working out a little later. I am absolutely starving right now, I can hear my stomach growling! I will do HSC or the original BC. You know how my car was showing hot on the temperature guage? Well I got it fixed and it was fine. What do you know, it is doing it again!!!! Going to have to take it back in. Oh well, I guess that's life. Hope you are all having a great day!

Good afternoon Cheetahs!

Carole - 30 Day Shred is by Jillian Michaels. She has 3 20 minute workouts kind of like bootcamp. There is Level 1, 2 & 3. Each has cardio, weights and abs and each level has 3 circuits each. Sounds like a long workout for you today. Enjoy it. Hope you stay cool in this heat.

Cathy - Yes, that was my first time doing Shred. Got it and Absolute Kickboxing when Deep Discount had their sale. Bummer on that back still bothering you. I think sometimes just pounding that pavement can aggravate it. Read your later posting and laughing here about the Immonium instead of IB. Glad you figured that out.

Gloria - Sounds like you and DH had a nice relaxing day yesterday. I have Bucket List recorded but haven't watched it yet. It was a free PPV. Glad you got to enjoy that new ipod!

Posh - Sorry the smoke is still keeping you from your run outside. At least, you have options to get a workout in. I'm one of those that don't want to spend that extra time at the gym for the sauna, jacuzzi, etc. When I finish my workout, I'm ready to get out of there. DBF loves it though.

Wendi - Happy Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day! See post to Carole about Shred. Just reading all you have to do at the barn wore me out. LOL!! Glad you got it done. Don't blame you for not running in the humidity. I'll have to look for that Barry's infomercial. Didn't know he had a new one out. Bet you will be ready for that RT. You can do it!

Wendy - Sorry you lost your post. All that typing and it goes to la la land. Aggravating! I don't mind running on my treadmill either but it's nice to get outside sometimes.

Christine - Glad the heat is keeping the appetite under control. I get hungry in any weather. LOL! I've been waking up hungry the past week. Does Jimmy enjoy getting his hair cut? Poor Kimo on getting shave. Good thing it grows back. How's she doing?

Lorie - Welcome back! Can't see the pics from here but did see the others from home. You have a gorgeous neice and nephew. What a big boy he is at 22 lbs! Hope you had fun with them.

Today's workout was a 30 minute speed ladder, a 20 minute pre-programmed elliptical workout and a 20 minute yoga. Nice to have time to some yoga in.

Gotta get back to work. Enjoy your day!

Jackie

whew! workout done. i did iTread 32/40 min. for the first time. it was pretty killer. no walk breaks and flat and fast. i managed to do 4.85 miles in 37 minutes. not too shabby. prior to that, i did nrolw.

wendi-i hope you are enjoying your day. sounds like you had a great workout!!!

wt-awwww, it's nice to be missed. yup, the top is arden b. i saw it on cathe at the last rt and just HAD TO have it. i get complimtns on it all the time. i am looking forward to running on the beach.

gloria-i am excited to go to aruba. i've never been but heard it's beautiful. i agree that my niece and nephew are absolutely gorgeouos but i am COMPLETELY biased!!!

jackie-yes, he is a big, big boy. i can't imagine if he keeps growing at this rate! i had such a wonderful time with them.

well, i think it's time for the pool for a bit. i need to work on my "tan tolerance." ;-)

Carole – Oh, I so want to get a massage – haven’t managed to fit one in between my cold and my vacation! I’m sorry about the heat – ick! I know it’s a “dry heat” but man! Sounds like a great workout today – nice and indoors in this heat. It was already hot this morning while I was on my trainer.

Cathy – it’s so weird how little stuff can add up and tweak a back! Your appetite is taking off due to all of the running you’re doing! I cannot run or even run/walk 8+ miles two days in a row. My hat is off to you! :p

Lorie – Oh man – your niece and nephew are simply too cute for words!!! Aruna too?! Wow! Good for you for enjoying yourself. Spinervals Have Mercy is the toughest drills from his first 8 workouts – it’s tough, but man is it fun! I enjoy it. I have Have Mercy 2, which is from workouts 10-15. :p

Wendi – Have fun with DSO for lunch!!! I go back and forth with the heat and appetite, too. But when it’s over 100, I just lose any desire to eat. X( Oh dial up still? That must take forever! The chicken dish is simply marinated chicken thighs grilled. The marinade recipe is:

¼ cup red wine
2 tbsp olive oil
¼ finely chopped red onions
2 gloves finely chopped garlic
1 tbsp of fresh Rosemary
1 tbsp of fresh oregano
1 tbsp of lemon rind (I also use fresh juice when I don’t feel like “rinding”
Salt and Pepper to taste

Just put all of the ingredients in a big plastic bag and add the chicken thighs. Marinade overnight. I’ve used chicken breast, too, and it’s almost as good (the dark meat is just a little better)

Gloria - I’ll be cheering ya on Saturday! I was telling the girl to give Jimmy capri’s and not shorts on his furry butt. She was laughing at me. But she got what I meant. I think he’ll look fine. I hope so. If they shave him, I’m not paying. :p Good job yesterday! I did well, too! Let’s keep it up!

Jackie – Oh Jimmy hates baths and blow dryers. We had a groomer who would towel him dry – talk about a spoiled mutt. But he’ll survive. And I’m sure he’ll feel better. Kimo is doing okay. I’m afraid he hair will not have time to grow back, but I hope to be wrong. Great workout today! I’m thinking about yoga tomorrow – we’ll see how I feel.

I did Keith Webber’s Extreme Kettlebell Abs – I like that workout. Then I followed it with 75 minutes of “Have Mercy”. My legs were tired this morning, but I pushed it, figuring that I should get used to riding on tired legs. I actually really enjoyed it. It was nice working out hard! Although I’m thinking of taking a day for yoga tomorrow as the ride in Sunday and I need to start tapering. :p We’ll see how I feel. Have a great day all!

Hi Ya Cheetahs!

Sorry, no time for personals right now. I'll have to do them later tonight or in the morning.

Just wanted to report back with my work out. Today it was an upper body mish mosh from the KBG dvd (w/u + 10 upper body exercises + 1 ab exercise) and then a short interval cardio work out using BootCamp cardio with 30 second rests in between each segment. Great work out. }(

Gotta hit the showers. It's visit mom day for DS and I!

BBL hopefully!:)

Hey Girls.

After showering and getting Joey up from his nap, I realized that I am a bit ahead of schedule today instead of my usual LATE. :p That being said, I decided to brew a cup o' java and sit down for some personals. I COULD be doing some kind of housework or something but why would I want to waste my valuable time doing THAT when I could be talking with you lovely ladies!? ;) :)

Wendi: You must forgive me for missing the fact that it was your Birthday this morning! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I saw and posted on the thread in O/F but that was AFTER posting here. Hope you are going to be doing something to celebrate!:) So are you actually going on a roadtrip or just taking the friday morning class those weekends? Sorry you didn't get into BBC this morning.

Christine: Why did they shave Kimo if you did not request it? Was that their interpretation of the word TRIM? I hope Jimmy gets a better cut! Yeah, losing a whole post of personals really stinks! Soooo frustrating! x(

Carole: Did you see in the O/F? Someone is Cali is asking for prayers as there is a fire headed her way and they are beginning evacuations in her area. How sad. I am so glad that you and Christine have remained safe through this. Hope you enjoyed your work out today.

Cathy: So what CC's do you have? Have you ever given them a shot outside?? I never have but people say they are pretty good for that too.

Lorie: Love the pics! Your niece and nephew are the cutest! Glad you had an awesome time visiting. Forget about the lack of exercise and the onslaught of food you consumed. It was a vacation so it just doesn't count!!!!:7

Gloria: So what did you eat? Which work out did you choose to do?

Jackie: Awesome cardio work out today! I think I do lots of races because I know it will force me to run outside. I also find it more fun then running outside alone.

K, looks like I'm caught up now and just in time! Gotta get ready to jet now!

BBL or tomorrow chicas!:7

Jackie: Bucket List is good. Be prepared, I did shed some tears over that one. It was a nice day yesterday. Thanks. Is a 30 min. speed climber on one of those versa climbing machines? I feel great when I fit the yoga in too.

Lorie: Wow, that is a fast run. Bet you're feeling good after that! You might be biased, but they truly are beautiful children. :) Enjoy the tanning.

Christine: Thanks for cheering me on Saturday! I will do the same for you! Can't wait for the race report. Too funny about the capris on Jimmy. So far, so good with the food today. Nice workout! I will try that marinade. I have all the ingredients except for the wine. I will have to pick some up. Sounds delicious. How long did you marinate for? Or did I miss that? Thanks for posting it.

Wendy: I made some Morning Star ginger teryaki veggie cakes and had a string cheese. Pretty good. Great workout today. Enjoy the time with your mom.

I chose to do the original BC. I just love that workout. I have been marinating some wild elk steaks with olive oil, lite soy and Montreal seasoning. I will throw it on the grill here in a bit. I think I will make some brown rice too. I just love that stuff! Talk to everyone later. :)
